Old cast members hosting during December for the holidays needs to become a tradition.
There are a good number of SNL Christmas episodes hosted by former cast members (or frequent hosts who have the energy of cast members): Eddie Murphy, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase (later downgraded to just Steve Martin and Martin Short), even that Paul Rudd episode that was shut down due to Omicron variant COVID counts. I'm sure there's more than that.

Kate McKinnon's first sketch was the Pantene commercial with Sofia Vergara and she was strong right out of the gate. She's fantastic.

That moment when Maya, Kate, and Kristin linked arms brought me to tears! They’re just about my all time favorite ladies of SNL…and I say this as a huge Gilda Radner fan.

The cold open when Kate McKinnon played the piano and sang Hallelujah back in 2016 is still one of the best things I’ve ever seen on SNL!
I cried with joy when I saw Kristen and Maya walk out, 3 of my 5 favorite SNL female comedians, along with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
One of the all-time SNL Greats! Her ability to wring laughs and pathos out of even the most random characters is such a delight. So happy to see her back on the stage. 😊

I just want to give Kate a hug, she looks so uncomfortable being in the solo spotlight but she does such a phenomenal job in all her roles.

I always love watching the band members during monologues. Fun to see when they laugh. Lenny and some of the others have been there forever so they've seen everything, but people like Kate still manage to make 'em laugh. Maddie (on guitar) is usually pretty reserved during monologues, but the ren faire dress joke got her.

Love the support she gets. The whole persona thing can be dropped. She is naturally comedic and I find her to be more funny as "herself". My perspective has changed. Now i see a true clown in the most complementary way i can say that. After seeing Barbie I hope i continue to see her in movies. Good, rather substantial comedies are not easy to pull off.
