Gosaikunda Trek 2021

- Gosaikunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake around 600 metres long and 370 metres wide. It is situated at an altitude of 4,380 metres above sea level in the Langtang National Park in Rasuwa. Together with associated lakes, the Gosaikunda Lake complex comprises 4 square mile in size.
Gosaikunda trek during winter is absolutely serene, blissful and stunning. Trek to the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda gives us a fair mix of adventure and spiritualism. Besides trekkers, Gosaikunda sees a huge number of pilgrims mainly during Janai Purnima festival.
Due to the Covid-19 situation and never ending Lockdown in Nepal, it’s been quite a while since I hadn’t traveled to anywhere and once the first wave of Corona Virus got under control, I decided to embark on a trek to the Langtang region including Gosaikunda in February 2021. This was my second trip here. The landscape was totally different during my first trek, which was in October 2018. This time, the holy lake was completely frozen and I mustered the enough courage and went into the middle of the frozen lake. I will never forget this experience of running over a completely frozen lake.
In this first episode of my winter wonderland Langtang Region Trekking video series, I will be exploring the beautiful trails to Gosaikunda. In this part, I've covered my trek from Dhunche to Gosaikunda and back to Thulo Sabru.
I hope you will enjoy watching this video.
Stay tuned for more videos of this series!

In my opinion, any season or any time of the year is best to travel anywhere in the mountains. But to be on a safe side for the good views and weather, Sep-Oct is the tourist season in Nepal.
Which month
End of February!

I captured most of video through my cell phone which is Samsung M51. It capture pretty good shot while using a normal tripod.
