I've been watching a lot of these, and this one seems like one of the most helpful in a "this is how it is" sort of way.
Thanks! It’s not an easy topic to cover because it’s always changing and it’s just so different from anything else. I have another video posting in the next few days answering the most asked questions & clarifying some things!
This was a super helpful video, thank you!
You’re so welcome! I just posted a follow up video as well if you want to check that out!
Omg! We are planning our first trip to Japan in April. As we skipped visiting the US Disney parks due to ridiculous lines for all the rides last year, I thought Tokyo Disney theme parks would be a good replacement.
Thanks to your video we won’t waste our precious time in Japan waiting hours in Disney lines!
Hope you get to experience the parks one day! They are truly amazing. But, it’s not for everyone. I have a new video coming out on Friday where I go through the questions people ask me the most about Tokyo Disney trip. Maybe check that out when it drops! :)
Do you know if the vacation packages are still a maximum of 2 nights? We are looking to go 5 nights with 4 full days.
@amackbmack4898 yes, 2 nights, 3 days only unfortunately!
@ thank you
Tokyo Disney is very cheap (vs. Europe/US). So even if you buy Premier Access for the most popular rides, you will not spend more than in a US park.
Hi bro
We will be visiting for 2 days 1 night vacation package in both the park in May 14 , do we have to make queue for everything or advance booking will help ?? Any hotel recommendation
If you have a vacation package booked, you should have pre-selected attractions to get tickets for. Once you arrive at the hotel, they will give you physical tickets and vouchers for everything included in your package. We’ve only stayed at the Toy Story Hotel and it was fantastic. I hear the MiraCosta is great, but it’s very expensive. We were in the Disneyland Hotel lobby and it’s incredible. Sort of has a Grand Floridian vibe. Hope this helps!
We booked Disney sea fantasy spring for 2 nights and 3 days vacation package . We are still confused about the reservation for restaurants in lunch and dinner as we are vegetarian what should we do as we got an option of selection. Of restaurants for reservations but if we would like to know for the dinner is it easy or we need to make lines for that also
One more thing to ask is it crowded in middle.May month weekdays
Your first question about vegetarian options is a tricky one. You will need to ask the restaurants. Use google translate on your phone as they likely won’t understand. Menu items don’t even list ingredients in Japan!
Second, it depends on where you want to go for dinner. You can do quick service and mobile order and not wait. Or, you can book a reservation at a fancier restaurant and not wait. Do that in advance tho as we tried to book while there and everything was gone!
This video was super helpful, and made me decide to skip DisneySea when I go to Tokyo this year 😅
No dude, don’t miss it. It’s worth going,
Well I hope you are kidding! You’ll be fine :)
it depends when you go
The last 2 years I visited, basically strolled in for either parks. I am wondering if it is the huge increase in foreign toursts (we are too) that caused it? I may be bringing my friend over this year, and we are wondering if we should even try. Cos the 2 of us are tardy 😓☠ 9am is okie, but to reach there before 8am...
I think it’s two fold. The yen is down causing people to explore in country. And yes obviously that will attract more tourists!
@pandytravels Thank you. Then we better skip.
If you only had one day, and we’re determined to do both parks, which order would you recommend? What would your itinerary be? My must do rides is honestly only Beauty and the Beast and Baymax. I don’t really care if we get on anything else, although Elsa and Anna sounds cool.
If your trip is before April 1st, 2025 I would get to DisneySea around 6am and book virtual queue for Fantasy Springs attractions once you pass through the gates (highly recommend Anna and Elsa’s!) It’s the only way to get into that land and it’s amazing. After April 1st, it’s anyone guess how it will work! Explore the park a bit and head over to Disneyland around 3pm. If there are no priority passes left, get in line for Beauty and the Beast right away in case it goes down later in the day/evening. You should be able to purchase a Baymax premier pass no problem as those don’t tend to sell out. Hope this helps!!
Thanks for d awesome tips! May I ask why don't suggest u use standby pass for Fantasy springs? U mentioned use it for indiana Jones. Thanks!
There’s two types of free passes. Standby is for new attractions like the ones in Fantasy Springs. It’s a first come first serve virtual queue system.
The priority pass has a few other attractions (like Indiana Jones).
You can’t use priority pass on attractions in Fantasy Springs.
Does that make sense?
@@pandytravels thanks! 😊
@buttlebe my pleasure!
good video we are doing the vacational package! I'm happy and can't wait
Thanks for the support! You’re going to have a great time :) vacation package just takes all the complication out of things
where do I go to book the vacation package?
@andreafritz2033 reserve.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/sp/vp/search/
I was so thankful getting a reservation for Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey without the Disney hotel staying and getting there early.
Lucky! It’s an incredible attraction!
This video was super helpful. I am going to Japan in Mid March with my family 8 & 9 Kido whos extremely excited to cover Universal as well! After watching this, I am really worried with the lines due to the season. And if you could kindly advice on the tickets which i have already looked into in klook is a bit confusing. Do we need separate entry tickets to rides along with the 1 day pass?
Glad I could help in some way! Your one day passports (day tickets) get you into the parks and you don’t need anything additional to go on the rides. They are included. However, if you want to skip the lines then you will need to acquire additional passes once you scan into the park. I know it’s confusing but you’ll have a great time ☺️
We always bought through Disney website and never had an issue.
Glad to hear that, it’s really horrible when your credit card gets flagged for “fraud”
So traditional lines here don't exist? Or can I line up (for example) at the Indiana Jones ride after freely booking the Journey to the Center of the Earth and after purchasing a premier access to another ride?
You can absolutely do that. You can line up for anything without paying. The queues are just very long. When I looked at the app this past Thursday, Indiana jones for example 120 minutes and Soaring was 180.
@pandytravels Geez, need to mentally prepare for the waiting lines, then... Thanks for the reply and video!
Yes! Make a list of your must dos. Skip any “similar” rides you’ve been on before. Good luck and have the best time ever!
Is it possible for say me to line up extremely early then have my wife and kids meet me in line later? Or would people throw a fit for them cutting to join me?
Good question. We saw tons of that so I wouldn’t worry about it. Go for it!!
@ ok thanks, I saw another video of someone doing that but would hate to upset several 100 if not thousands of people in the line I’m in.
It’s very courteous of you to ask! We were in line from 6am - 8:30am and saw tons of local folks doing it. Nobody cared and just kept to themselves. It’s a good crowd :)
@ the video I watched the guy lined up at 3:30am which I’m willing to do but I don’t know if my wife and kids want to get up that early lol. I’d be willing to do it if it helped them get on more rides.
@nathanstepp86 that is serious dedication!!!
After watching this, im axious to go to disneysea. 😂
Haha 😂 but now you know what to expect! The only anxious part is the arrival in the morning. Other than that, it’s all good!
Haha same I’ll be there in April
You’ll be fine!! Enjoy the day ☺️
Thank you for your insight. I'm looking to start planning a trip come the end of September 2025. I'm looking at the vacation package as well.My question: If I want Happy Entry for both parks and costs are not an issue, what hotel would you suggest, in order of preference? Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!
We’ve only stayed at the Toy Story Hotel, but if you want happy entry to both, you may want to consider Hotel Miracosta, simply because it’s connected to DisneySea. You can actually get a theme park view. I hear really good things about this hotel ☺️
Super helpful but almost makes me don’t want to go 😅
😂😂 my intention was to prepare people as much as possible, not scare them! Youll be fine!
Only 700 subscribers? Good video. that number is sure to climb
Gaining subs on UA-cam is the hardest part! Thanks for the kind words ☺️ really appreciate it!
Can you get happy entry with a vacation package regardless of hotel?
If you want happy entry into both parks, you need to stay at a hotel that offers it for both, even with vacation package unfortunately!
Does Happy Entry even matter when you can choose the time slot of the rides in your vacation package?
Good question! It’s less important, but yes, because you’ll be able to line up for food items in advance or go on some rides that you don’t get passes to. Happy Entry gets you passes to a lot of attractions, but not all. There’s a limit to how many you pick.
@@pandytravels ok yeah that makes sense. anyways thanks for the heads up on happy entry specific hotels!
When can i book a vacation package for October 2025 ?
It’s super confusing right now and they’re changing things weekly. On January 16, they opened up bookings until end of June, so it’s around 6 months. With that logic, you can expect October to open up in May. But please keep checking here -> reserve.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/sp/news/list/1/
This is the official Tokyo Disney news stories that includes vacation packages. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help!
@@pandytravels Thanks ...hopefully I'll catch the news update before the bookings open!
@0709Cassandra I hope so too! It’s so confusing. I would set a few reminders for yourself at different times in the month of May (maybe once per week?). October is not quite as busy so you should be OK securing :)
@@pandytravels Thanks for this tip! Wondering if being from Canada and using a visa if I will have any issues trying to book this on the website ...any advise on this ?
I used a Canadian AMEX for our hotel and it got blocked (but still went through for some odd reason). Unfortunately no tips for this because it’s the only site you can book a vacation package on and it happens regularly to North American credit cards. I wouldn’t stress too much though - demand for the vacation packages is going down and if you do get blocked, call your bank to get it lifted and then try again. Keep in mind if you get a confirmation email from Tokyo Disney you should be good to go
It actually is a fair system, everyone is equal and has a chance to compete for what they want to do that day, it is not wealth-based and is more of a local theme park for the Japanese people. The Japanese people are the most polite and respect everyone. The Tokyo Disneyland Resort is not owned by the Disney Company, it is owned by the Oriental Land Company and is the best-run and operated of all the Disney parks. It is clean, organized, friendly, and everything works! No breakdowns or public fights! I loved Japan!
I love Japan too so much! And yes agreed, people are super respectful. The only way around the system is with a vacation package. I think if you’re never going back, it’s worth doing - simply to take the complication out of planning. Even just booking a restaurant was a 40 minute virtual wait on their website lol
It is wealth based. If you have the means you can skip the 2 to 3 hr wait time. I felt bad for those in the long lines. I paid more money for 3 of us to skip the line on four rides. It adds up!!!
It adds up like crazy!!
So many times he says "it's unfair that if your children are screaming they won't let you run rampant over the rules" "It's unfair that we have to wait in line like everyone else" "How do we get around the system bc we feel like we should" His US privilege is showing and it's gross 👍🏼
You were there on a weekend? Because I am going to japan in April and, after watching this, I am really worried with the lines on the sakura season! =/
We were there on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I would mentally prepare yourself if you’re going during that time! ☺️
They need to have the reservation system. Max it at 75,000 people per day.
I don’t disagree. Having to get there around 6am is not fun for anyone. That’s why I think vacation package is the best option - you get physical tickets for everything!
Thanks for the useful video! You mentioned problems with credit cards. Was it difficult to pay also for your hotel or just for the tickets? I read that if you stay at a Disney hotel you can buy park Tickets at the reception and you are guaranteed entry.. but I don’t think my over-planning brain will allow to wait till the day of our visit😅
Ha! You’re just like me! Yes you can buy them guaranteed from your hotel, but I didn’t want to chance it. And yes, my credit card got blocked when booking the Toy Story Hotel as well. It may not happen to all credit cards, but I’ve heard it happens to many.
@@pandytravels Try Klook and Agoda when booking things in Asia and thank me later
Want to go one day!
They’ll change the system on april 1st for fantasy springs. The One day passport will no longer available on april 1st 2025. (At least the website said the one day passport is only available until march 31rd). I really wonder what’s their next move tho
Yep good call out. I think a lot will change on April 1, I heard about it after recording this video! Hopefully this makes it easier on people. Maybe instead of arriving at 6am they can arrive at 7 😂
huh? where did u get this info? can u provide the sauce?
It’s not officially announced yet, but people booking their vacation packages for April 1 onward are noticing there is no 1 day passport to get into fantasy springs, indicating it’s likely to be discontinued after March 31 2025. Keep checking Tokyo Disney website for updates.
How or where do I get a vacation package?
Hey there - you book directly on the Tokyo Disney website -> reserve.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/sp/about/vp_01
You’ll pick the number of days you’ll be staying, the hotel you’d like to stay at, type of room, passes for attractions, and your dining reservations. Make sure you research where each restaurant is located before booking and ensure you’ll be able to make it :)
@@pandytravels thank you!!!
My pleasure!
I brought tickets via the Japanese website and had no problem. Got lucky i guess lol
Yes I think it’s a bit of luck of the draw! 😂 glad you had no issues. My card was blocked trying to book the Toy Story hotel.
My friends and I are going in the begining of March, well before blossom season but this is honestly stressing me out. We couldn't afford a vacation package or a themed hotel stay and were just going to try to explore the park but this vid makes it sound like theres almost no point. We wont have happy access, we'll be delayed by foreign credit cards and the entire booking system sounds like theres no guarantee we'll be able to do anything if we don't move fast enough ;____;
It’s definitely not an easy place to visit, but you should still try. If it helps, we stayed in Tokyo for the last part of our trip and we took the subway to Disneyland. Got there around 7am and there were lots of people but it was fine. We still got to do everything we wanted! so our entire stay wasn’t on property or with happy entry. Don’t let it dissuade you! Go go go !!
Wow
I'm pretty patient, but 1-hour waits for simple food and 2-hour waits for attractions sounds brutal. Seems like you're just not going to experience much in a day other than waiting in queues.
Yes, you either have to buy passes for the attractions you want to do (arrive early in case they sell out), get a vacation package (expensive), or make a list of your must dos and hang them out in the morning. We did a lot of character interactions and exploring in DisneySea
It was a friggen nightmare! Makes the visit unpleasant. Met other international guests who were as frustrated as us. I’ve previously been and this new system is a nightmare. An English speaking Security person helped us navigate and purchase skip the line tickets at an additional cost per ride.
I think this is the main reason I enjoyed Tokyo Disneyland more than DisneySea. It was a bit more relaxing as there was no Fantasy Springs element and just less people overall. They’re changing Fantasy Springs entry on April 1 so let’s see if it makes things less of a nightmare!
3:31 just tell us how much it is in USD bro 🇺🇸 💵
Apologies! Usually I try to put it in context. Right now, 1500-2500 yen is approximately $9.50-$16 USD.
Horrible system
i puchased on tokyo disney website but dont see the happy entry anywhere? where am i supposed to find it? thanks
If you booked a Disney hotel, they will give you physical happy entry tickets when you arrive.
