It's a pity these two didn't meet more often. They both have such beautiful style of play. Great reflexes by both players in this match. A quality match despite the lopsided score.
In the first half of 1994 Steffi's level of her game was as good as ever (might be her best ever) but suddenly that slump happened in the second half mainly due to her back pain.
@@cyriljacob4839again came those Seles's nutters fan. Seles was fit enough to play 1993 us open according to her doctor & ny times article but she choose to stay back at home.
I think Steffi's losses in 1994 proved that her win or loss could happen depending on her physical and mental issues. As you all know without Seles in 1994 Steffi won just 1 slam. So saying that Seles was the one who stopped Steffi from winning slams didn't make any sense. The real obstacles that could prevent her from wining were her dad's scandal and injuries.
Absolutely well said. Steffi was clearly distracted by her father's extramarital affair with nude model & blackmail scandal. That's clearly hampered her game. Remember Steffi at that time was losing to Sabatini literally every time (1-7 h2h) including 5 consecutive times against her, losing to ASV (infact ASV bagelled her in 1991 F.O SF ), losing to the likes of Garrison & Novotna. But even in that slump Seles hardly dominate Steffi infact on Steffi's favourite surface like indoor & grass she got blown away by her.
I agree...Steffi played the best of her tennis in that first half of 1994....also probably in the first half of 1995 after her comeback from injury which made her miss the Australian Open won by Mary Pierce.
They both had to bend a little bit to hit Graf’s sliced backhand? I don’t know. Seles was unique as she played with both hands on both wings. Majoli had one handed forehand.
Iva was never able to trouble Steffi. She just loved the pace Iva gave her on the ball.

Yes especially after sending innocent Seles to trauma, with the help of her basterd fan
. She did so well.

Majoli got very nice width on the backhand and handled the slice well.
did you see the 2nd set, hammered as all were apart from seles
@@peterphilstacey4698 talking about the way she handled and hit specific shots - obviously the whole match is a different picture.
I remember reading the paper saying that the way Mojoli played was similar to Seles’s. Do you agree and what is the similarity between them?

Both played Bolletieri style 😊

she's weaker than seles because she's not using grunts for extra power
Steffi said after their 1993 french open match that Iva Majoli's backhand was a lot like Monica's.
unplayable Graf 2nd set, best ever mover and best forehand ever, outstanding, now its pointless viewing womens game
