RESIN CASTING PROBLEMS. Here's how I tried to fix it. EPIC MISTAKE ON MY PART!

I know the first casting wasn’t ideal, but it was pretty cool looking, could have been good for a Sandcrawler display, Jawas do love their scrap parts.

Question: I have an awkward shaped item I want to cast the problem is to cast it I would waist a lot of molding compound. Could I place the item in a plastic bag so I can accommodate the item without wasting so much product?
