for stuck lens filters i use a small somewhat thin mousepad i have laying around. It has this rubberized texture on the back that is perfect for that sort of stuff.
@@ShaneLongPhotography I could see your R5s exposure indicator and you often overexposed by about a half stop which I'm sure was intentional as well. The photos speak for themselves and look great regardless. Do you just prefer a brighter photo? Just honestly trying to understand.
I saw quite a good street light shot taken with this lens. The star bursts from the lights were very sharp which is not possible with all similar lenses.
I love it for walking around even though I have the zooms in that range. But this is small enough to carry in a light messenger bag and shoot any interesting scene you come across.
Hello, your videos are very helpful! I’m looking to add a lens to my camera and I am in between the 24 1.8 the 35 1.8 and the 85 2.0 I mainly wanting to do portraits some macro for weddings and wedding events or church… your input would help me a lot
Thanks for asking! I like this one better for size. Its lighter and is easier on my shoulders after shooting weddings all day. I do think I liked 28mm better than 24 for context portraits. And I liked the 1.4 better than the 1.8 of this lens. But I ended up returning the Sigma 28 and going with the Canon 24 1.8 partly because I didn't have to adapt it and it was so much lighter. Does that help?
Thanks for this review it was very helpful, I think it's still pretty good sharpness for a non-L lens, it's going to be my light landscape lens for when I already carry an big and heavy zoom like my 150-600mm, I already have a 16-35mm for serious landscape needs, but I wanted something very light to throw in the backpack and it seems perfect for that!
Stupid question, I know, but I gotta ask: how did your gear get so shiny? Is it due to a particular bag you're using? I know that all gear, especially bodies around the edges lose the texture but I've never seen a lens barrel so polished due to usual wear. Of course it's just a trivia question and there are zero effects on functionality but I'm just curious :) Great work btw as always, I love your photography, absolutely fabulous aesthetic and color work :)
Thanks for the review, I was wondering what happened to you 😂. I even check your IG😅. Would you recommend this lens for wedding photography if you're on a budget or maybe as a supplement to the 28-70?
Haha! Yes, I am still alive. Just haven't added any new lenses to my kit for a long time so I haven't had anything to make a videos of! I am now using this lens all the time at weddings. It is good for getting ready rooms, large groom portraits, context photos, and for receptions! Here is a wedding I used it on recently. The cover photo was taken with the RF 24mm 1.8 shanelongphotography.com/2023/04/07/grace-river-island-resort-wedding/
I picked up this lens and as much as I love the size and centre sharpness the huge barrel distortion restricts me in some scenarios. With the profile corrections on people on the outer thirds of the frame are well stretched. Have you ever tried adapting ef 24 1.4 L ? Thanks mate

Genius! Definitely going to try that next time. Way safer. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you are back ... been waiting for your review of the RF 135mm
Thanks! Would love to get my hands on that lens eventually and do a comparison of the EF 135!
As a wedding and lifestyle photographer considering buying this lens, your review was very usefull. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hello, nice to greet you. I loved the direction you take. A little doubt, your colors are very pretty, do you use any presets?
Thanks so much for your time and effort. I really enjoy your videos, please keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
Which lence u used when u start the video.
The sky is blue in 4:20 but white in the shots. Is it intentional for the wedding theme?
Yeah that was intentional to put more focus on the couple than the sky. All just personal editing choices!

Cool! I will have to try that out sometime!

Agreed!
Thank you for the review
My pleasure!
Nice review. How about detailed comparison between 24 and 35?
Thanks! Will have to think about that! I do get a lot of questions on which to buy!
For wedding photography, between the 24f1.8 and the 35f1.8, which lens would you use more often?
I use the 35 more! You could add the 16mm and that would help with the wide shots!
Great review. Many thanks 🙏😊
You are welcome!!
Muy buen vídeo, muy bien las comparacions con los otros lentes.
Thank you!
Is that Mizner Park in Boca?
I don't think so. I think I used Naples and Cape Coral for locations. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the review! How do you like it compared to the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 that you reviewed a few months ago?

Great call! Perfect for that purpose!
nice review, did you ever heard about RF 28-70 f/2.0? have you try it? can you review it too? thanks
Yes I have! I don't own that one but my friend does and he loves it!

Dope vid. What’s the difference between the 24 and 35? I have both.
Thanks! Not a lot different other than one is has a wider field of view than the other and less background blur as a result.
Comparing to 35 mm, 24 mm is better?
All depends on what you are shooting! I personally use 35 a little more.
Thank you
You're welcome!
this 24mm is amazing for wedding photographers
Agreed! I have been loving it!
Beautiful pictures❤
Thank you!

@@ShaneLongPhotography beautiful pics... Great job!
If you ever need to use vice grips or any other wrench to your lens ALWAYS use tissue.
Great tip!
Some of these shots I would consider the 50mm being a better option
Love 50mm
Watch out for the title, it's not "RF 25-105mm", there's a 1mm too much on the low end 😉
Great catch! Thanks so much. Title updated!
L zoom > Prime wow 😮
Yeah the L zooms are amazing.
Call me crazy, but for some reason images from latest Canon cameras look digital to me.
Well they are digital cameras :) I understand what you are saying though. I really like the files. They have a lot of editing possibility in them!
Sir did you record the entire video with that 24mm lens? 🙂
Not the whole video. Some of the clips were just even with my iphone :)
@@ShaneLongPhotography And you took 1 fkin year to replay my comment? 😒

I haven't ever owned that lens. Had friends that loved it though.
