  • Engine Swap and First Start up! Lycoming O-235 factory overhaul with all new or overhauled accessories.
The Cessna 152 has been a big player for new pilots as a time builder.
However, I think the new Van's RV-15 kit aircraft might be something to really consider for time building along with skill building in the backcountry operations.
Let me know in that comments what you think.
Thanks to New Horizons Aviation for allowing me to film the engine swap on this flight school aircraft. Along with Goshen Air Center while working in their shop as an full time A&P mechanic.
    Be safe and be blessed!

Yeah… Sure makes it look quick. 😁
This video covered about 4 days. All new baffling required some adjustments.

Thanks. Unfortunately it was not filmed in real time, only time lapse. This is a couple days of several hours.

@@Blaircraft.Engines how about key points like the Lord mounts and the oil hoses. You'd be surprised how often people get those backwards for correct installation. In fact, the oil lines are in The Illustrated Parts Catalog for correct installation, at least on the 172. And the compression side of the Lord mount are supposed to face the firewall on top and the case on the bottom.

All of the advances in automotive technology and aviation is still stuck in the 1940's... 🙄😩

Would love to know the cost! Looking at buying a clapped out 150 and having this done.

This was a very expensive firewall forward overhaul, new components and baffles & seals. I’m guessing 45k. This was working under the FAA Repair Station, I didn’t see the invoice. I would plan on at least 25k, but I don’t have current pricing/availability.
