This is such a great video. I had a similar experience a couple months ago. I have been riding the seaside for about a year now and hadn’t had a high performance short board in a while. I picked up a lost driver 2.0 and have been having a blast! You need some power for it to work but it opens another world. I love my seaside, but there’s nothing better than riding that board in good surf.
Great vid. Great to see board comparison with easy to understand language. I would like to see something on starting out and the pros and cons of second hand gear. Keep up the good work. Peace.
absolutely. I've been trying to ride a shortboard, it's slightly wide at the nose and slightly flatter than a thruster, but in flat small waves if I don't move right and fast...the board stops. I'm going to try a fish now...I'm scared to make a mistake $$$$, but I need something much "easier" to glide, speed and turn. I'm not a pro surfer and I don't go searching for DA wave, so...we'll see.
Hey guys! Do you think you can do a video of how to improve and ride a 6’0” foamie? Or improve after riding a long foamie? That would be really helpful!!🌟🌟
I’m learning on a shortboard foamie it’s easier I will say instead of a long board at least to get through waves ie duck diving or turtle rolls I recommend. The goal is to get to a short board so didn’t want to spend money on a longboard and a shortboard so went with the short foamie it’s going to be awesome you got it
@@TheSurfersJourney I actually got mine as a hand me down and it's really hard to choose anything else for average to below average waves... heck even in good waves up to about head high lol. Hope you get to check one out !
Hey Ryan, great video, great channel, I'm a big fan of the CI Pod original and was looking for a board that has more speed but can handle a similar wave range and conditions as the Pod. How's the Seaside compare to the Pod for paddling, wave range/type and performance? I surf fast closing beach breaks in Oz, and the CI Pod's been great but trying to get more speed in waves from waist to head high. Was considering giving the seaside a whirl?
I think the Seaside would be a great option if you like the Pod. Because of the construction type it is lighter, more flexy and super fast. I don't have a deal with them, so that's my honest opinion. Depending on how hard you want to surf it, you could benefit from something a little more high performance in outline, and less fishy. Hope that helps! Thanks Jon
Thanks for watching, it was a fun one to make.

@@Swampberry Thanks, great idea!
There are a bunch of really good videos made by "Surf Simply" on youtube that are already made on surf design. Would def check those out.
Love the wax job on your seaside 🤣🤣 always tempting to take the fish out but mixing it up with different boards increases development IMO. Cheers
For sure. Ha, it is probably due for a change!
Good to see the regular uploads...
Lots to come

Good video, it will definitely be helpful to a lot of surfers 👍🏄♂️
Hey thank you for your content mate! How tall are you to be riding a 5'2 seaside?
I’m hesitant to try out the performance shortboard but looks fun.
Ryan, where can we buy that sweet sweater? Do you ship to the USA ?
Just go something in between the two boards for your alround shortboard and ride the seaside when its small and weak I recon would be the go.
Solid suggestion
Puddle Jumper HP = Best of both worlds!
Would love to try that out Dusty
