@@Nay-ew4uj That’s great. We don’t know her situation so it’s hard to say if your way of life can be duplicated by her. Maybe she hasn’t had an opportunity like that yet. Maybe she has and has negative experiences. Just because you’ve done something and it’s been successful for you up to this point doesn’t mean it hasn’t been done or will work out for someone else when you know nothing about them or their circumstances.

I was homeless and worked and took care of my ailing mother yet I was denied over 50 applications when I applied for rentals, therefore I became homeless for 5 excruciating months in the very end of that 5 month period a property manager told me that the reason I was being rejected left and right was because my mother who had alzheimers after a severe fall and brain damage, that she had had something in collections. thats it. 400 dollars for vet care she did not pay in collections 8 years prior and they count anyone on the lease now. so my whole family had good credit scores and excellent tenant history, but because she did not they refused us housing, all for a tiny older crippled woman who had no ability to even speak or lift herself up or care for herself! things need to change and change fast!
Seriously, this doesn't solve anything. It's kicking up a problem and tossing it to the wind until it lands somewhere else. They are part of Rio Linda just as much as anyone else resides there and need help.
So help them and take them in on your property

The people are spoiled hypocrites just like Thomas Jefferson who was a coward and a slave rapist.
And the GOP continues with the criminal deregulations. Now the SC has crippled our regulatory agencies that have historically protected us. With Trump in office he will fire all federal employees that work in those departments and destroy all of our protections including education, civil rights, and environmental.
Thank you for cleaning that place up. I remember how nice that area was as a kid. Now kids cant even enjoy it without fear of stepping on needles
thats right. but the ones like the elderly women , the ones who dont use drugs, need to be offered housing. Unfortunately from what I have seen with my own eyes, the illegal people living here in Ca are the ones taking up the housing and resources. when they apply for an apt or house, NO QUESTIONS ASKED They got it

Youre right. and some that say they want housing screw it up and behave like idiots, continue doing drugs disturbing neighbors etc. I helped a guy get housing and he moved out 2 months later. he admitted he would rather have money for drugs than shelter
Im a long time solo advocate for animals, in particular, cats, and all I can say is if you are homeless or not, get the poor animals off the road, and into shelter or rescue groups etc, Its hard enough taking care of ourselves let alone a bunch of animals with needs. you never know what can happen and its usually the worst that happens. I also feel the same about these cat colonizers that think they are doing a great thing, but they create these colonies and only spay and neuter the cats and put them right back on the street. what stupidity. They usually die of starvation or get maimed or killed by cars and even poisoned or shot. This is horrible what these clean up crews did that they carelessly went through this encampment without checking for signs of any living person or thing and killed all of those innocent animals. I was homeless for 5 months in the bay area after my my time ended in my rental in Concord, my landlord was moving his grown daughter into his home and thats ok. but I suffered so much. I put my things in storage and cleaned his entire home professionally well and left in a timely manner. I rented an RV, it was me and my severely disabled mom with brain disease and damage, my adult daughter who was her official caregiver and of course our pets. we were harassed by police while we parked legally (we didnt use toilet in RV to avoid having to move to an rv hook up site, instead we used motels twice a week )that lasted a month until we could no longer live like that so we paid with my savings, for an airbnb in richmond. it took 2 months in rv and motels, and three months in airbnb and over 60 completed and denied applications for rentals. Why we were denied? for one we were on a voucher program known as section 8, and because my 78 yr old physically and cognitively crippled mother had bad credit because she hadnt paid her care credit years before for about 400 dollars. UNREAL. They would not even let me pay it, I nearly had a heart attack during this time (say the ER doctors) and my mom experienced grand mal seizures for the first time in her life. you CANNOT expect a severely disabled senior to go through all that! and I am also in my fifties with some health issues. Finally we were accepted in Vallejo, Solano Co, a place I said after living there for 30 years that I would never go back to, but Solano Co is all I had and the only ones that would accept us. Know that we always had excellent rental history, never a missed payment or eviction and always ideal renters.but still could not compete in the bay area with all of the people who had "better looking jobs and impressive applications". One thing wrong with our country is it doesnt take care of its own. They allow people from other countries, from open borders to come in and take our housing, our resources, our food. Its a shame. A SHAME Im so sorry to see all of you on the streets who suffer, especially the women, children, the elderly and the animals. People say its like having a golden ticket to have a housing voucher but its not as it seems. Its also very hard to get anyone to rent to you! because there is a stigma about people receiving housing assistance. I am now paying almost 3000 a month out of my own pocket, Housing pays about 100. They take every penny you earn that they can. Now I am struggling for transportation for my mom, a handicap vehicle, which I will probably never get because housing makes us pay most of the rent and landlords pay no utilities. Good luck all of you and never stop praying and trying.
