For more information on the red band 2-speeds and later yellow and blue band 2-speeds, visit www.sheldonbrown.com/sutherland/CB-IGH-3-bendix.pdf and download this pdf for ready reference.
I just laced a manual 2 speed bendix hub to my old typhoon. The hub is supposedly new old stock and the first thing i noticed is how dang heavy/well made it is. Even the shifter handle is robust thick metal. I tried to put i wrench on one side to pull it apart no luck. I need to get a vice on my work bench. After mounting it it shifts fine but the wheel doesnt spin freely as it should. Slows to a stop pretty quick, havnt rode yet need to fix my flat first!
Would you mind if I use your video as reference in my UA-cam Stingray restoration series? I’d like to put a link in the description. great video and very helpful!
You will need a screwdriver, pliers, an adjustable wrench, and some type of spanner or bent-nose pliers to engage the locknut. Look here for more details: www.sheldonbrown.com/sutherland/CB-IGH-3-bendix.pdf
