Kustom amps used the best field effect transistors. The best of every parts up to real wood cabinets and the effects worked VERY well for actual use. The original speakers were Jensens and they were excellent.
Thanks!.... I might make another video of this amp sometime using a better guitar... I have a G&L Bluesboy or a PRS that I use... Either guitar plays great through this amp....The Squire, not so much.... If that were my Guitar, I'd change the pickups on it ....
Josh from JHS pedals has a complete documentary on Budd Ross and Kustom. Josh recently worked with Budd's son to bring back the Ross guitar effect pedals!
I just stumbled onto your Channel. Really cool, I have the same Hobbies, old clock and guitars. Nice job on your Channel, I wish I could do something like that.
..Just thought I might tell you that I have owned a number of Kustom 250 heads over the years and changing the light bulb in those switches is nowhere near as scary as it looks! unplug amp, remove chassis & 2 screws on either side of switch, pull out assembly, twist blue cover to left (feels/sounds like it is breaking---it isn't), unscrew bulb, replace, press cover back on, screws back in..good for 30 more years!
