Absolutely all information in that space got deleted from reality. And another weapon was some kind of system destroying the construction size of multiple planets that makes Necron tech look like a children's toy. 5:00 yes, geneseed is the point. Since there were no female primarchs. Emperor created them from parts his genetic code + some manipulations and arificial organs.
    Then procedure for space marines were created, simplified, less organs, less geneteic manipulations and based on specific primarch genetic code.
    In lore test on females were performed. Good outcome - fast death from organ rejection. Bad outcome mutation, tumors and slow death because organs and geneseed killing body, due to differences in anatomy.
    While what GW done creating female Custodes is not specifically impossible in lore, since they don't have geneseed, they don't have implanted organs, they are hand made every time and from infancy (space marines are preferably created from young man before reaching adulthood, but were created from older man in lore), details of how they made were never specified beyond they genetically altered at infancy period, and also cellural level and grow everything naturally. Also custodes are immortal unless sustaining so much physical damage that there is no way to regenerate, time does not affect tham beyond full maturity age.

    • @sluggaboyzWC3
      @sluggaboyzWC3 24 дні тому +9

      Also as a note not all candidates for becoming space Marines are compatable with the organs. You can safely say 1 in a thousand can biologically handle the transplants, while one in a thousand can pass the physical exertion required to be up to their standards. The Genesee itself is possibly the safest part since they sometimes use Geneseed stock in clones to produce enough for a new chapter. This isn't to say the hosts survive by basically being in an iron lung and brain dead but needs must.

    • @Mare_Man
      @Mare_Man 24 дні тому +5

      The Custodes _do_ age, just even more slowly than Space Marines. And when they feel that their abilities have been significantly hampered by it (meaning they react a whole 0.000001% worse than before) they retire their wargear and go out into the galaxy as the Eyes of the Emperor.

    • @UkrNomad
      @UkrNomad 24 дні тому +5

      @@sluggaboyzWC3 I think one thing many people also miss. Is that modern Space Marines are not like original Space Marines. Mental conditioning done to them changed a lot in most chapters. Most Marines at times near the end of the Great Crusade had hobbies and we're much more human. Some painted, read, wrote, did music, craftsmanship etc. But Horus being corrupted at that time (what worse not by his own will) causing heresy and civil war. And now Space Marines are much less human supersoldiers, and much more "instruments of war". And the majority of them don't even know the original vision of the Empire.

    To explain Bricky's love for the Night Lords, he's read a few books covering them and likes some of their characters immensely because they're more than just psychopaths. I mean they are, but there's also a weird sense of honor and justice that comes with it.
    Case in point? One Jago Sevatarion, more commonly known as just Sevatar, the 1st Captain of the Night Lords and Curze's right-hand man, was captured by the Loyalists during the Heresy. In captivity he became fond of a woman who helped tend to his injuries and spent time with him out of kindness. When Sevatar fond out that the woman had been seriously injured for daring to be nice to a traitor, he broke out of his cell, found the man responsible, murdered him, and them willingly surrendered without resistance. He would also regularly point out the flaws in his Primarch's reasoning, saying that Curze's own paranoia and pessimistic attitude was why he refused to believe that humanity could be made to act morally and ethically through anything except fear. Sevatar was also noted to have been marked for execution for some crime he had committed, but neither he nor Curze would ever explain what Sevatar had done, and Curze would regularly remind him that one day he'd carry out Sevatar's death sentence himself.
    On the tabeltop side, Bricky admits that Night Lords kind of suck, but he insists that there's a spiritual victory every time he gets a unit to fail a morale check, and nothing makes him happier than managing to scare a Custodes model off the board.

    5:55 You are more or less corret but that's not all. First things first the person who's ment to be a space marine first need to have PEAK physical condition at the age of 12-14-is. Than come the trials to see If they have what it takes which are brutal both mentaly and physicly, only after this do they start the surgary which is also a coin flip because even If they went trough all of this flawlessly they could die on the operating table. Which is why they are hard to replace and takes time.
    .
    2ndly and this is very hard lore is that the Emperor did NOT want to replace humanity, partialy the reason why there are only male space marines is because that way thay can't even accidentaly have children, and so they relie on humans to replenish themselves. Since they are removed from humanity in 1-2 degree already which you can see in their attitude where they are usualy very high and mighty and consider themselves above the regular folk (not everyone of them but a good chunk certainly) it is a very well founded safety measure.

    One of my favorite things about ultramarines is their devotion, its very rare to see a soace marine run away, even more rare to see an ultramarine run away. They are so devoted to their homeworld, to guillimen and to the imperium that it makes ither legions look less loyal by comparison. Theres a story from 30k, about the Lion telling an ultramarine to renew his oath to his chaoted and the ultramarine refused, because to do so would imply he wasnt 100% devoted when he made the vow the first time. This random space marine is so devited to his legion that he refused an order from a primarch because it would even suggest he was anything other than completely loyal. In the time if guillimans absence they did get a little too hung up on following the codex to the letter, but since hes returned theyve started to loosen up on that some

      I don't always, and it outlines a greater problem with the "ask first mentality." I have asked Coffeezilla is reacting to his content is okay. He is, only if it's not the entire video. So, I don't react to him. However, we have many Vtubers who will react to his entire videos. Effectively locking me out of content for asking and rewarding those who "don't know." I'll ask permission and try to infer where I physically can. But, it isn't always possible when I do ask and creators like Forgotten Weapons come down months later with a Copyright Strike.

    5:55 Yes, but no.
    There is a stupid amount of lore around genetics and genetic augmentation, and for the most part (broad terms) Geenseed comparability isn’t highly successful. Hypnoindoctirnation itself has a less than 30% success rate, and that’s just one step of the trials to become an Astartes in the 30K era.
    People die in DROVES to make a single space marine. All just on if ever takes or not. So technically speaking, that could be a reason why. The X/Y chromosome issue causing such incompatibility that the subject outright dies… Arguably that could also simply apply to the idea that the hornones and augmentations have them looking the same (fallout super mutants) but it also begs certain questions and ethics. Along with lore contradictions, On top of other things too… that even i don’t know.
    But you want another reason? It’s because all of the Primarchs are male. Malchador, the Emperor’s right hand, specifically says “i told him he should make you all daughters… that you would be less quarrelsome. But he wanted the competitive edge of sons”
    This implies they had the option but specifically voided against it. If you really want to get down to some scientific brass tacs, because space marines were mass produced, arguably it would be better to just see if it takes as apposed to giving the subject special treatment and hormones to maintain them.
    That’s just more stuff to fail and things to break. WE NEED WARRIORS. N O W.

    Unfortunately Bricky didn't really like the Raven Guard much, so his summary of them is kind of underwhelming.
    Raven Guard are what we call Reasonable Marines. They're not crazy gung-ho assholes.
    They're a faction entirely dedicated to fighting tyranny and being freedom fighters. They're masters of asymmetric warfare and guerilla combat.
    Their stealth goes beyond just being sneaky. Some of them have mastered a semi-psyker ability to literally remove their presence from the mind of an observer and thus becoming fully invisible in their eyes.
    They also respect Guardsmen and regular humans far more than other Legions and Chapters, often asking for the local guardsman militia for their opinions on tactics and strategy.
    Their legion got almost entirely eradicated during the Drop Site Massacre event and Corvus was allowed by the Emperor himself to access the secrets of the creation of Space Marines to repopulate his legion at faster speeds than any other legion, but Alpha Legion and Lorgar conspired to taint the gene seed of these new marines with demon blood, becoming living abominations, that were sadly still loyal. However as they degraded more and more, Corvus had to basically put them down. Then came out of the massacre saying only "Nevermore" and left to chase Lorgar in the Eye of Terror.
    He's now a loyalist demon raven hybrid terrorising Lorgar and his Word Bearers in the Warp.

    Regarding the 2nd and 11th legions, we have tw reasons;
    1) Lorewise, All we have on them is that they did something SO TERRIBLE, that the Emperor himself expunged ALL knowledge and trace of them from every archive possible. Literally nothing has survived about them, except that there once were a 2nd and 11th Legion. Thats it, and the fact that we still know of all the traitor legions, including that of Horus himself, and yet DONT know about these two? speaks volumes to how severe what they did, was.
    2) They are left blank for homebrewing reasons in the tabletop game. They are the open two legion slots, a loyalist and traitor legion, for people to make their own legion with their own lore. Although a lot of gatekeepers still like to debate this, and not it very civil ways, but more just being dicks about it.

    Magnus had ONE job when he was still loyal, don't do anything and stop using your warp powers... oh and ignore any voices you hear when using them. Don't come try to help via the warp, don't try to warn the Emperor that Horus has been convinced to do a Heresy. Just sit there, and do nothing.
    He didn't do "nothing" and as a result the Emperor wound up a skeleton on the thrown they created together, bound to it rather than able to leave once in awhile as planned. Magnus, did nothing, wrong. He managed to fuck up doing nothing because he is a nerd that kept fucking with the warp and was surprised when it fucked with him right back.

    Who's larger, Tyberos or Vulkan? Oh boy here we go!
    Note: I do not own, nor have I actually read, any WH40k books. This is entirely based on art from Google Images, half a dozen reddit threads and a bunch of dredging through the WH40k Fandom Wiki and the WH40k Lexicanum Wiki.
    Sources vary wildly on the exact heights of Primarchs, and most people are somewhat confused as to who is actually taller/the tallest.
    It would be reasonable to assume that Vulkan would be the biggest/tallest Primarch because his sons, the Salamanders, are on average the biggest/tallest Space Marines. BUT;
    One source says "Ferrus Manus stood a head taller than his brothers", but we don't know if thats "a head taller than average" or "a head taller than the 2nd tallest".
    Other sources say that Vulkan is "The largest of his brothers" but that could just mean that Vulkan is built like a Steel Mill and is simply the bulkiest instead of the tallest.
    Other sources say that Horus had to get down on one knee to look normal marines (8-8.5ft) in the eye, which would make him a bit over 12ft tall, which means that Vulkan would have to be 14ish feet tall, because Vulkan in armor that doesn't make him meaningfully taller was as tall as Horus' custom scaled Terminator Armor, which would add about 2ft to him.
    Most cannon artwork I've been able to find depicts normal humans standing at about waist height next to an armored Robutte Guilleman, making Guilleman about 11.5-12ft tall while in armor, assume 11 without. Most discussions I've read say Guilleman is about the average height for a Primarch, and if Vulkan is significantly taller than him, that would mean Vulkan would be around 12.5-13ft tall, without armor.
    SOOOO, Vulkan is PROBABLY between 12.5 and 14.5ft tall.
    Getting a cannon height for Tyberos is also, very fittingly, fuckin slippery, but cannon statements place his height at either "a head taller than armored marines" OR "a head taller than standard Terminator Armor". Problem is, I can't find out if that is his height with or without armor.
    Just to make things more confused, the authors who've included the Space Sharks in their books use the term "Tactical Dreadnought Armor", which is incredibly annoying because without context it could be used to refer to "M. I, II or III Tactical Dreadnought Armor, prototype Terminator armor from long before the Horus Heresy" and to "Tyberos' suit of modified Terminator Armor which uses armor plating from a 14+ft tall Contemptor Dreadnought".
    To deal with this;
    The shortest he could be is "A head taller than a firstborn marine wearing M.VII Power Armor while wearing Terminator armor". Terminator armor has an armored hood over the standard helmet that adds about a foot to the armor's height, which makes him a normal sized marine at 7-8ft tall without armor. Wrong. Bad. Incorrect.
    The tallest he could be is "A head taller than a firstborn marine wearing Indomidus Pattern Terminator Armor while not wearing armor". This would make him 10-11ft tall without armor. This makes him around the same height as the other "Really very tall Space Marines" like Abaddon and Alexis Polux, who were both able to look eye to eye with the shorter Primarchs, being around 10ft tall.
    Tyberos' armor likely adds roughly 2ft to his height, being a significantly larger than normal suit of Terminator armor, with a much bulkier hood than the most common Indomidus Pattern likely due to the use of Dreadnought armor plating.
    SOOOO, Tyberos is PROBABLY between 9.5 and 11ft tall without his armor, 11-13 while wearing his amor.
    TLDR: Vulcan is about 2-3 feet taller than Tyberos if they're both out of armor, and about a foot taller if they're both in armor.

    The gene-seed implantation process is one of the last organs implanted out of the 19 thrown in there. When it's implanted it will over time change the facial features of the applicant to look either -slightly- more like the primarch all the way up to being an exact copy of their facial features. For example the Luna Wolves had a character called 'Little Horus' Amixand who was an advisor to Horus himself who got his nickname because he was the spitting image of Horus thanks to the gene-seed implantation.

    It’s funny because Geneseed is a gene editing organ but the process usually doesn’t change the candidate’s physical appearance unless it’s the Alpha Legion where everyone looks like Primarchs Alpharius and Omegon and the Salamanders who end up with similar appearances to their Primarch Vulkan. The best explanation I can give is that it alters the candidate’s DNA responsible for muscle mass, bone density, and a few other things. A relatively normal buff human goes in and a guy the size of LSS Broly from the DBZ movies comes out. Plus all the DNA templates are all based on the Primarchs DNA, all of who are noted to be male in the lore.

    Its worth noting that Bricky had the same opinion of the Night Lords as you before he read Soul Hunter and the rest of the Night Lords trilogy. For what its worth, i wasnt a fan either until i read those books and now... what can i say? Ave Dominus Nox, corpse-worshippers!!!

    1:01:12 Vulkan, by FAR! Tyberos is the largest Space Marine and he is described as "near Primarch sie". Vulkan was the largest of all the Primarchs, Tyberos would look small next to him.

    The Night Lords are one of those groups that you really don't think are your thing, until you go read their books.
    They have, without exageration, some of the best novels in all of 40K. Be that Konrad Curze Primarch novel or the Night Lords Trilogy, the books are amazing!
    And with amazing books come great characters. Sevetar, Decimus, pretty much the entirety of the 10th company like Talos and Mercutian, Konrad Curze himself.
    You can really see the divide within the Legion with some Night Lords really following the ideals of their Primarch and doing what they do bc they genuinely believe it's the right thing and a net possitive in the long run as they conquer entire systems without a single battle, avoiding huge loss of life, upholding this very interesting sense of honor, justice and code of ethics, while the rest revel in the sadism enabled by that way of warfare, all the while their Primarch hates himself and what he does, desperately trying to justify it all to save his own sanity as his conscience is eating him alive, making him degrade mentally and physically to the point that at the end of it all he can barely speak in coherent sentences. The Night Lords are so cool despite all the edge.

    Alpharius and Omegons names become even more on the nose when you read their lore book. Bricky did a breakdown on the lore channel Adeptus Ridiculous.

    The mug in the Alpha Legionary's hand at the end is fitting because Dorn killed the Original Alpharius during the Horus Heresy. Omegon just took the name.

    There is a theory that the entire Siege of Vraks was orchestrated by the Alpha Legion so that one of their senior members could get a face to face meeting with the Dark Angels Chapter Master. Neither side is above sacrificing millions of guardsmen and uncounted Vraksians to achieve their own goals. Both are so deep in their own web of secrets that they don't care who gets dragged into their net.

    The Red Scorpions are a chapter, and so technically don't have a Primarch, only a chapter master. BUT, they do descend from an original legion, but which one they descend from is unknown.

    There is a video that talks about how some space marine chapters "might" be from traitor gene stock. Because not everyone in the traitor legions agreed with their Primarch to betray the emperor and often fought against their own brothers during the Horus Heresy. The video even mentioned the Red Scorpions as one of them

    5:10 - Red Scorpions are one of those chapters made by Forge World where it's like... no one really knows who their Primarch is, who they're successors of, etc because either it's supposed to be vague or GW was just like... "meh". Considering their obsession with genetic purity there's speculation among fans that they're made from gene-stock of Emperor's Children that had been kept in storage (there are a few other Chapters who could potentially have similar backgrounds based on their personal obsessions or fighting styles), or possibly just Ultramarines. It's fun to speculate and draw your own conclusions based on what's presented. Which is part of the fun of them being Your Guys™
    That said as I am a fan of the Astral Claws I am now obligated in good humor to blow raspberries at the mention of the Red Scorpions. Those IRS lapdogs will NEVER take our taxes.

    59:39 This is what kinda happened (supposedly i can't remember where i heard this), but this is what happened when the Black Legion won and destroeid Cadia. It was originally gonna be based on a tournament, but GW didn't expect the Black Legion player to win and just rolled with it (again, not sure if 100% correct, but this is my understanding)

    11:08 the 2nd and 11th legions have been excommunicated and redacted from history they existed and did things but their crimes (which you must bare in mind we have traitor legions) were so unforgivable that they weren’t recorded
    41:54 every primarch has a warp ability sanguinius and Konrad both had foresight for example Angron had the ability to take on the suffering of others and used it for his gladiator friends but lost this with the butchers nails
