Nashville has a huge area of traditional Mexican food but no where near downtown. I’ve had some of the best tacos at traditional places there. The Mexican community is quite large.
I'm from North Carolina, it's crazy how anyone could think there's no Mexican communities / authentic food in the South! It's close to Mexico, too! This was a gringo spot and those exist, too, but you can definitely find authentic Mexico food and taco stands in the South.

I live in Tennessee and the only place you’re gonna get authentic Mexican food is definitely the taco trucks. They’re ran by actual Mexicans 😂
As well as some small shops that are also ran by them as well. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had.
Yup here in California stands and taco trucks get more customers than those Mexican run restaurants.

$6 a taco !? These are from Mexican stands where the make handmade tortillas?! I live in Bakersfield CA & the street tacos over here are $2.50 tops & they’re quality, meat grilled on a charcoal heated grill with handmade tortillas 🔥 LA is rediculous

Idea for your Tennessee taco joint name: The Authentic Mexican Hideout
I live in Tennessee Knoxville but the place I went to was called tequila amigos mexican grill. I had the El Molchajete it’s served up in a big steaming hot lava bowl. It taste amazing just be cautious if you go cause the bowl can be very hot. I also would love for authentic Mexican food always curious about other cultures.

I live in East TN. We have a spot here called El barril grill. It's probably the most authentic I found in my area. The recipes come from Michoacán México

People are surprised when I tell them I didn't eat Mexican food in Florida. I moved to Texas and it was the first time I've eaten Mexican cuisine. Still not a fan. However, being in the South and Florida in particular, I love Latin and Caribbean foods. There's a difference between Cuban/Venezuelan and Puerto Rican foods. Which I'm more familiar with. Mexican food is just not that popular in the South.

Yal should go to hollys country coking. In Conway Arkansas. They’re literally only open from noon to 2 because they sell out EVERYDAY fast. There is always a line. Hey dude just because u live in LA doesn't mean that u can say that the tortillas in Tennessee are like TEX-MEX if u never been to South Texas u can't compre it because down South of Texas like the RGV they have real authentic Mexican Food like also Real authentic Corn or Flour Tortillas Homemade from scratch
Tacos aren't our specialty. Fried food though thats another story. Only place u going to find authentic Mexican tacos is like a real Mexican restaurant or a taco truck dude.😂😂😂 But I hope you enjoyed the southern hospitality... The soith is one of the best places in America especially when you're talking about the rural areas and small towns. I cant say the same for the big Southern cities though.

In Nashville, the best Mexican food is all along Nolensville Pike. That whole area has become a Latino community. All authentic and mostly Spanish speaking.

You need to go to Shelbyville south of Nashville to get real Mexican food. We used to go to Aguascalientes and they have some amazing fajitas and ceviche. It's attached to a Mexican grocery store. Nolensville Road is also where you're going to find more authentic Mexican food and grocery stores and bakeries. Just not looking in the right area of town.

There’s plenty of authentic Mexican food in Tennessee. So many taco trucks and restaurants in the Hispanic communities here, kinda disappointed in the representation u gave us. Lots of authentic family owned Hispanic businesses to support in TN don’t listen to this BS
