Sweet video man! The cutouts in the nitro version are for bump box starter or roto start options, The one in the middle is for transmission adjustment. There is a mod you can do to make it a two speed transmission. I bet you could use an hpi mt2 transmission cover. They both look epic!

Wow this is a great video!!! The slow motion action shots were epic, great editing too. Awesome work. Subbed. That nitro was tunned perfect, singing great! The more your in the hobby the more you explore, glad you took on a nitro. They do have a learning curve, but I feel hpi hit this out of the park, it's the perfect chassis, and your running a good fuel. Metal HD dog bones all around that is a significant step above traxxas for small block nitro engines. Now you need one with a 2 speed. If I could justify it, I'd have one of each too lol. Cheers. I like my e-savage for all the reasons you listed and my nitro savage for IC glory.

After reading the comments it looks like I am the only person here that finds the sound of nitro cars extremely obnoxious. Also the ease of use of the electric version is just unbeatable in my eyes.
yeah there are ups and downs for sure about nitro but its all preference at the end of the day to each their own.

The cutouts in chassis are so you can use a bumpbox instead of pull starter. Engine needs to sit low enough for flywheel to be even with bottom of chassis
Nitro only way to go, they actually have more traction on loose dirt too and thats the most important part of a rally car.
You have excellent taste my friend, Team associated makes some good platforms as well! I'm a vintage nitro nerd so I collect old school hpi's, rc10gt's and monster gt's

They cut it out so u can use a box (bump) starter. It's for real race engines that DONT have a pull start engine.

I will not nut *lol meant not knock* the 1/6 Losi Baja but once you get to $1000 and aren't focused on the $400-700 range you sold out and honestly most people can't afford it.
Basically at the $1000 range, that's a down payment for a quad or dirt bike. Way more fun!

I know all to well about the RC hobby too. You think ur gonna spend 1000 on a RTR or 500 on a kit and the day after you have to spend another 300-500 to get it running and 3 months after you had to spend another 200 when things went wrong to keep it running. I love RC too and for 30 years now.
If buy a new or newer used beginner dirt bike or trail bike (way funner than any RC), with $1k down. You got a hundred dollar payment including insurance and maybe even gas per month, with way more excitement!
I love RC but it ain't cheep compared to what you get or the fun you could have.
It used to be reasonable but that was 20+ years ago.
I guess to me a trail or dirt bike is 1k down and some gas plus maybe insurance. Registration happens when you buy it and can be included in the down payment with helmet if you know how to negotiate.
Gear can be added later but not necessary. Repairs and maintenance will cost less then almost any off road RC or rc airplane unless you truly bunck up on the full size engine bike or even quad.

Nice car but I still prefer the electric version. Nice sound for the nitro one but because in my area it is hard to get nitro fuel I rather go electric. However seems you need to tune your electric it appears to have a lot of power making it unstable.
It just rips lol I love the electric one it’s a workhorse of a car I beat the crap out of it and have yet to break it

electric is not always king, even today. but say 89% of the time it is. whatever.
this discussion will always remain open and not solved because it doesn't need solving.
there is electric guys and nitro guys(nerds) and that's the end of it.
both are part of 1 and the same hobby, live with it, deal with it and ENJOY.

I was going to 100000% buy the electric. After watching this one video, i am 10000% getting the nitro, the electric dont look scale in motion, notchy, rolls over and to powerful.
The nitro will last longer while the electric will slowly dwindle in power
Why would that happen? I have never heard this before about electric cars, that are being maintained properly, and don't run the motor too hot.
@@kosztaz87 when the battery’s power gets used up then it would slow down and eventually quit.
@quiddy not with a lipo the power is basically the same until its dead, and plus absolutely every single one of my electric cars are faster then my nitros
@@Nathan-qt2zi I didn’t know that lips don’t experience a gradual decrease in power like regular batteries do. But I guess gas-powered motors also go through a gradual decrease in energy
