I’ve just bought one myself, in love with it after 24 hours

Which one? I'm also on the hunt but trying to find one where the owner hasn't lied about rust is seemingly impossible!

@@MrSunnyBhoy I got a ‘94 1.8, looked round 3 before that one tho. Just look for ones close to you so that u can check for urself. Rust is the biggest kicker

I own a 2004 mk 2.5 arctic 1.8 in razor blue UK spec from new and it has air conditioning, which was sold like that new and still works perfectly.8300 miles by the way and like brand new, always garaged, only been wet a handful of times including washing and no rust whatsoever, anywhere.

G'day. I've got a 1989 MX5 Red. In good condition, that's done 280,000miles. I currently only have it insurred for $A5,000 (Australian Dollars). Should I increase the insurance? What value should I insure it for?

    Red seats are the best

Quick question. Do you recommend it as a first car? I really want one as a first car and I am going to start taking courses

      @CarCultureClub  9 місяців тому

Probably not as your first car as it’s not the best to drive when you’re new to driving, but its definitely a good starter project car if you’re looking for one

I want a mk2 soo much but they’re super expensive in my country, a good condition one goes for around 8 to 9k euros, I’ll guess it’s gonna have to wait 😢

Wow! That is expensive for a MK2. Where do you live?

(Mk1) You missed some important points…
Special edition 1.8 Mk1 can very greatly depending on the year mostly, then colour of the exterior and interior depending on special edition or not, yada yada.
You pronounced “torsion” in a way that made me question your further knowledge..
The hardtop does more than make the car “look better, and drive better” …..
Mk1’s all have the rear lock pin from factory.
It’s easy for anyone to take a knife to a soft top and get into an mx5.
The hardtop also has a defroster.
When it comes to the engine/motor, some come with power steering and some do not.
The mx5 has perfect 50/50 weight dist and the battery is mounted in the trunk/boot.
I paid 1700 for a 1996 Merlot edition Mk1 with matching hardtop from an older fella a year and a half ago for £1700, still has under 70,000 original miles on the 1.8
The older fella was going to sell it to a dealership but I promised and kept my word to cherish it, he himself by the way had a stainless steel exhaust fitted and all the proper engine word done on time prior to me buying it.
People will pay what they think a car is worth with or without mods, you paid 4700 and a week later you had a coolant/antifreeze leak which could have overheated and blown up your motor?!?!?!
    Yikes.

At the end of the day mate who really cares. This guy has clearly made a video out of his own time about a car he clearly loves just to try help some people out.
These cars are 25+ years old, of course they’ll have countless issues that can’t be contained into a single video.
If you’re such an expert make your own video instead of berating someone else’s like a twat.
