Don't forget to remove the striker channel liner if you are using the heat method instead of air cure. Worth saving the possibility of it melting, otherwise decent technique.
@@CaptainBerz You are right that it would "most likely" not hurt it, but not everyone is as familiar with the tools and then techniques of even heat distribution, so for me better safe than sorry. The Firing Pin Channel Liner SP01148 replacements can be found for 5-7$ online. But atm it might be better to remove than count on getting one replaced if you only have the one firearm.

That skateboard grip tape is genius, i rack the slide on my training gun with foreign objects to practice one hand manipulations, the tape there helped with using my hands as well and quieting that noise when I rack it on something . I know this is years late but thank you haha
I painted over the extractor with a marker, some ink may have gone inside the extractor hole, would this cause failures to feed? Cause i went to the range with 150 rnds and 6 rnds failed to feed.... i have never had this problem in the past, wonder if its the ammo or the paint
The title is a little misleading....I thought I was going to see a slide painted....the title should say “The process I used to paint a Glock slide”....
CaptainBerz Should say Glock slide paint prep. I was wondering why you were leaving on your decals while taping your slide. Only after you reveal your not actually painting. And instead of taping your sights they should just be removed.
Like to see someone paint the mag release, or get a cool.extended one to match, the pins, barrels slide, and the slide stop and slide release ect. A full color coordinated pistol with matching small pins, buttons, and every the recoil spring that show out of the end of the slide under the barrel.
Thank you very much for this video. I have a tiny question please, Can we use any paint to repaint the slide? or does it have to be a special kind of paint, where I live, we don't have high-end spray paints.
I'm getting ready to pain some gun parts on my s2k, including a muzzle brake. I did some research and heard a lot of good things about this spray paint called Dupli-Color Engine paint, enamel with ceramic added to it. Supposedly what a lot manufactures use to paint car engines. Not only is it durable, it's supposed to hold up to high heat, and it comes in a lot of colors. I'll post how it went after I am finished with the project.

Thanks for the fantastic video. If you need parts, I get top shelf parts for my Glock at close to wholesale prices from spectresupply2 on ebay and spectresupply1 on Gunbroker. They have way more parts on ebay, but things like frames on Gunbroker. I've bought tons of parts from them. They buy out big manufacturers' overstock and then sell it for a huge discount. I only use 100ish degrees, which will not melt it. But great point. Thanks for watching!

How the crayon looks like..? I wanted to colour back my g17 barrel only, because too many scratches.

I didn't see you remove your Stryker liner did you melt it inside of it when you put it in the oven
I did this on Thanksgiving with silver metallic spray paint to make a two-tone glock 22.
I want to paint my Glock 43x slide silver. Where can I get the spray? Or the name of the spray?
Did the heat from the toaster oven shrink or mess up the striker channel liner at all?
I never had any issues.
This is the exact video I’ve been looking for
Should I use a clear coat after I’ve painted it? Thinking about doing like a storm trooper white and gold barrel
It won’t hurt anything to do so
Would this method work on a Taurus G3? Carbon Steel?
Can I use body putty on engraving so nobody thinks it's a glock?
Thanks for showing what not to do. Reminds me of a stolen bike that someone painted
Lol I've never heard of that, have you done that?
@@deesteve4156 kids do it all the time in the hood 🤣🤣
Did you use a primer and top coatin
Use 3m painters tape .
I want to paint my Umarex Glock 19 gen 3 metal slide with same as the real one can somebody tell me what is the kind of pain using the real glock?
Why didnt you remove the sights. Alot easier thsn taping then.

does it changed the texture of the slide?
I love the brown frame. What color & process (Cerekote, Gun Kote, etc) did you use?
What type of paint you used
Wouldn't it be better to remove the sights?
Sure, it would be better!
You can always tape it off.
I paint my slde and the barrel will not fit in it now. What should I do to fix it ?
hi my name is David I have a s&w sd9ve I wanna paint the gun slide ..what kind of paint do I use
Where can I send my slide to get coated?
Great video! Your glock looks great! How are you liking those straight 8's?
strong like monkey My favorite so far.
How do i paint my glock do i just use paint?
Cant I just tape off where you dont want paint?
Hello, i have a question, how to get the exact same colour as a standard black glock?
Nope, not going to happen.
Great video bro! Definitely going to try this on my G20SF. Thanks!
You never said what you actually used. Just from the Auto Store. Was it like a spray paint or the touch up kind of paint?
You can use anything. I used Alumahyde II in this video.
thanks! but what paint? this info is crucial
Aervoe Camo Paint
its even but looks very textured...idk if i like that. I like the color but i prefer the smooth finish
It is smooth
@@CaptainBerz Ah no that is not smooth that has a textured look.
How do you keep from filling in the serial number to keep it visible ?
Light coats. It won’t disappear. .
Is there a way to avoid that "orange peel" look? Or is that what you preferred?
Lower you volume of material
Thank you very much for this video.
I have a tiny question please,
Can we use any paint to repaint the slide? or does it have to be a special kind of paint, where I live, we don't have high-end spray paints.
I have access to this paint, will it work? "GETSUN Chrome Spray Paint"
How well does the alumahyde 2 hold up?
Very well if baked on properly.
How long do you leave it in at 150 ?
I’d say crack door. Lowest temp. 10-15 minutes
CatainBerz how well has the paint job held up for the last couple of years now? Thanks
It hasn't, like all finishes. I shoot my guns and use them.
Is TiN finish a durable finish? And what's the advantages of having a TiN coating on the barrel.? Ty
Brian Jewell Yes it is one of the best finishes out there. It is also slicker when oiled than a normal coating. Great for barrels, bolt carrier, etc..
Is it similar to nickel boron coating? I'm assuming it's superior?
No primer first?
Cut a piece of cardboard and slip it in the rails. Easier than tape.
Great idea!
When bro said titanium that county came out that’s when I knew this video was official😭😭😭
And if you want the battle worn look ignore most of that prep except a degrease
HDX is Home Depot's garbage house brand ... it has infected almost all Home Depot departments.
The paint look like original glock color?
It can if you get the right paint
@@CaptainBerz did u know what is the original color name or code?
What is the color u apply for?
No clue, this was years ago. I paint things all the time. Sorry.
Looks like your blue tape got too hot. That ruins the adhesive. I use blue for everything.
How long does it last ?
Depends on paint. If holstering everyday, no finish holds up.
Considering how many ARs I've taken rattle cans to over the years I think it's time for my G17 to get a coat lol
I love how my s&w is identical
Fun fact. There was a lawsuit involved because of the similarity.
has unlicenced airsoft glock any tip how to make glock logo 9x19 and austria on slide ? which paint or sticker
Crayons or fill in with liquid paint and wipe off the slide to inlay it is the only way I have seen.
Great video, I may be giving this a try..
Hey! Do you let it cool once you take it out the oven before spraying it?
No. When it’s warm the metal pores are open. Better adhesion.
Thanks
Can somebody tell what type of paint he used?
Like please comment below

ChillxnMane I believe he said upfront Brownelle’s Aluma-Hyde ii.
If it chipped than daily use will beat it up

Stick to your day job.
Sorry bro but that looks like shit, paint was put on way too thick, the orange peel is horrible
Was a touch thick, but works great!
Try frog tape. Yes that's the name of it.
