    Hey Richard; There's another British man's channel "Mindful Motorcyclist" who loves his BSA like you do. They are beginning to grow on me too, but we haven't any in the U.S. yet. Have a great day.! CHEERS!! Illinois,USA

      Hey Larry, yes, he has now buggered off to Spain. Bloody infidel 😆. I was hoping to get together with him to make a video but alas, that won't happen in the short term I guess. You have a great day too 👍

    Yes absolutely, I'm about to buy another bike and fed up with the brand fights on social media...we're all motorcycling together...that's all that's needed whatever one rides...

      Hi John, let's face it, most bikes today are great and reliable. All you have to do is look after them 👍

    Hi Richard, another great video from you sir. I just love your laid back approach to the video content and life in general. Keep them coming. Ride safe!

      Thanks Sky, after what I have seen in life, being laid back is the view moving forward to my old fart years 😆

    It would be a boring old world if we all liked and bought the same thing. If you like it then get it simples

    Probably the best review I have seen on the BSA.
    I currently own a interceptor. I like it a lot.
    But I want the BSA Goldstar. Why??
    I think it's the beautiful view over the bars, the gorgeous sound of a big single. .I recently sold a Ariel 500cc Red Hunter that I had from school years, I'm retired now. So I had many days.
    I miss the big single 😪

      Peter, do not waste any time. Gop get one if funds are available. Get one now, they are lovely. And thanks for the compliment on the review. That is good to know from my perspective.

      Hi Kenneth, you should consider doubling up on the bike scene 😆, as I say, you can't take the money with you 👍

    You can't really compare a twin or a four to a single, there different animals. Before buying my GoldStar i tried the Interceptor and loved it but then i tried the BSA and fell for the big thumper and it's character and I've never been disappointed. I really also like the W800 and the T100 both more expensive by a few thousands. If i was to change my GoldStar and I've no plans to do so i would choose the W800 again for its character and its authenticity.

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  10 місяців тому +2

      Completely agree Ian, and the W800 with its geared cam drive is quite unique for todays way. I love the BSA, what a great thumper that does not act like one 😆

    Yes it’s a very contentious issue with people but the BSA is a lovely bike as is the interceptor etc but as you say we all like different things as you say
    Love the video

    It looks like used prices are coming down as there are 9 bikes at or below £5k on Autotrader today. The new lower starting price of £5,999 for the shadow black and highland green versions has definitely affected used values.

    • @bankruptpensioner
      @bankruptpensioner  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi Jerry, you are right. I have just had a look on AT Bikes and the prices are sub 5k. Interesting. That said, I thought the Gold Star was a little over priced and then the Black Shadow at 6k was released. This sort of brought it into the right place in the market space and furthermore, I am sure I have seen a special offer on a brand new for £5600. Now, £5600 is a great price 👍

      @bankruptpensioner  Місяць тому

      You're right, Robert they are great and you're right on the wiring loom as well. I'm guessing the loom is rubbing against the headstock and wearing through and earthing.

    I'm betting that bulky and ugly radiator can be switched out with a less bulky and smaller factory radiator from a new Triumph Bonneville T100, problem solved. Who has the mechanical guts to try and then report back? Cheers.

    Lets be honest this bike is not a BSA Gold Star, it is a cheap, crappy, third world produced bucket of cachu. This pathetic replica must really suit cheapskates wallets, anyone with any sense (especially those ageing nostalgia seeking wanabee's) should save a bit more of their pension and buy a "proper" bike. Maybe an easy first purchase, but don't kid yourselves, you will try hard to convince yourself you have a nice "new bike", bit your joy will soon become dulled when you try to part ex. even for another BSA or Royal Enfield replica, used prices of these pathetic counterfiets are falling like lead balloons in a bucket of water. The "assemblers" (for they are not makers) of these jokes can't even give it a proper tank badge..............

    Big question: Does one want to race one’s mates to the next traffic lights, or do you want to come along 1 second later in style?
