Nemours Estate | Wilmington

Another bit of Delaware history here, with a tour of Alfred Dupon'ts Nemours Estate, located in Wilmington, DE. Built for Alfred's 2nd wife in 1910, it is a French-style mansion with 77 rooms. Alfred set up a trust to maintain the estate for future people to enjoy, as well as establish the Children's Hospital adjacent to the main estate grounds. A beautiful bit of history.

Great tour! Thank you. Nemours has been a big favorite of mine since I was a young child and I saw it in Architectural Digest. I’ve never toured it but would like to one day. Have seen the big houses at Newport though. The gardens here are spectacular and the house is a pretty as any there. Glad AI Dupont left the resources to keep it going for others to enjoy.
