Mind blowing. There are many great versions of this song and I've been lucky to witness a couple of them in person but I regret I didn't witness this one in person, and this is the greatest.
My favourite era. Probably because it reminds me my youth but also 'cos they really were at their peak there! Perfect voice, energy, showmanship. It's more than Alright
I was there! Loved it and watching it again...they were just as amazing as I remembered!! Almost got squashed in crowd crush though - twisted ankle was worth it...
Wonderful memories I was 16 at this show and am 34 now. I love music now more than ever and have seen hundreds if not thousands of bands since. Nothing ever was any as good as this'what a night what a show what a city!' shame to have witnessed this too early in life sort of spoiled everything since. That also includes all the times I've seen them over the years
I stood with friends, pints in hand, outside a pub about 3 blocks from the "ORE-Dee-Ess" and listened as they played this show. From that distance...the sound was just about PERFECT!
I remember taping this live this show from the radio. Very little footage available at the time of these works of art, apart from the Outside Broadcast Yanker Stadium footage shown earlier in the 93. (Also taped).
And THIS song is the BEST example of how much further they could take a studio version and expand it and make it sound INCREDIBLE when played live. Granted there's some trickery (organ, click track) but yes, ON FIRE is a perfect description.
@@elchistosoII What I mean is that the studio version is WAY TAMER and quieter. The live version from 92-93, with the extended solo and coda is far superior. 1997's version was similar, but since then, they've dropped the slide outro and coda, which is a shame.
They played this concert on US radio and of course I taped it and then I wore the tape out in my Mitsubishi eclipse. This song this performance was their very best, with the exception of some of the guitar details edge added in 1997, this is as perfect of a version as it ever heard. It’s wonderful to actually put the visuals to it, I listened to it so many times but I could probably sing it backwards. The bad from this concert is amazing, especially since Bana was stating and getting tired, and suddenly he got re-energized, his voice came back, and he kicked the concert up three notches after that.
Their is a background sound to the band playing some sort of orchestral wall if you like but it just enhances the song wonderfully. Hail The Messiah Lord Jesus Christ
What art! A parable enacted: the Holy Spirit as alluring as a belly dancer, out of reach to human beings unless the Spirit chooses to touch them. Bono offers various prayers here not in the studio original (e.g., "Move now, Spirit, teach me").
I get chills down my spine every single time I listen to live versions of this song.
Me too! There's nothing better in the world!
U2 at their best... Bono's voice at its best

Um, wow. WOW. 5:26..Edge’s slide guitar, Bono’s showmanship, and that VOICE. Prime U2 is pretty much nigh untouchable. Just incredible

Was at this show. Great memories ❤️
They were on fire during 1991 - 1993
what happen to his voice?
5:36
why he cant sing like that again¡?
I suppose it was smoking, lack of proper vocal care and age, unfortunately. :(

Are you telling me this version is not natural?

Absolutely the best version of this song ever....live, studio, whatever
5:06 on is like the purest heroin.
franko2005dublin are you experienced with pure heroin 😱
The sound is amazing u would think its an indoor gig the RDS dublin leinster play rugby on the pitch now my first u2 gig never forget
I was at the Parkhead gig the week before and ZOOtv will always be my best U2 tour. The whole show was mind blowing.

Great stuff. I was at Roundhay Park two weeks prior to this and never found any footage from it. This is the nearest I've ever got.

GREAT!!
awesome
