She was truly my favorite female movies star when I was growing up in the 50's, (and Gene Kelly was my favorite male). Movies back then were so entertaining and "escapist". I'm glad we can still catch them on TCM. Thanks again for putting this video together!
I remember a news channel playing a short clip of this beautiful tribute when Esther Williams had just passed away; I had never heard of her before, and the combination of the music, the wonderful imagery, and the sadness of finding about someone "too late" made me really sad. What an amazing life she lead though.
My mom loved swimming & spoke to me many times about the enchanting Esther Williams. When old movies became available on video I watched - and grew to love - Esther Williams too. And as someone else here mentioned, her life story is a good read. RIP lovely lady.

For sure. Coen Brothers make great films. Didn't know anything of Esther Williams but just saw G Clooney reference her when talking about S Johanssen's part in interview about Hail Caesar.
In her autobiography she revealed how dangerous some of her aquatic dives were. In particular the dive when she was in a heavy sequined golden suit with spiked crown, no one took the crown into consideration when she took a high dive to the bottom, the crown hit and she could have broke her neck, as it was she was laid up for months with a 'snapped' neck. It's a very interesting read, I recommend finding it , you won't be disappointed if you like celebrity reads. (@ :47)
