    Hi Sam. Your machine is a " beast!" I'm living in southwestern Vermont/ North Bennington. I seen 2 feet packed snow. ( I dug it out by hand. Then had a manual push snow plow. ( I built it.) With a retractable bulldozer blade. I used a 1/4 inch thick metal tip on the bulldozer blade. That slices through snow packed drifts. I made another plow w/ the " same" metal tip. ( That's sleet, freezing rain & ice.) was a farmer to our family small farm. It was very handy that wooden push snowplow. Even though. I had to wait for 2 inches of snow to use it. I ❤ plowing snow. I've got compliments on my strong & wide shoulders. I was " fit" during my 32 yrs of small farming. ( I'm retired from farming. It will be 6 years this June/2024.That drift you knocked down. 12 feet high? Or more? Massive snow drift. 😲😲😲😳😳😳🤔🤔🤔🙃🙃🙃 Your " beast" a fuel gussler? Or. It " sips" the fuel? We had about 6 inches of snow. We normally have 2 feet by now. Take care & be safe Sam. Thanks for answering my questions. Have a good weekend. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🌨🌬🌡

      Hey thanks! We're familiar with that area... That sounds really cool!! Stu would be into that, definitely. The snowcats are amazing and yeah I think it was 12 ft. They're decent on fuel. I think they burn about 7 gallons per hour, or something like that. Not bad I suppose. Sorry about the lack of snow back East!! I've heard it's terrible this year. Oh well! Thanks so much for tuning in and commenting!!! Have a good weekend!

    I saw a huge mistake. After you hooked the strap to the two machines, you didn't say "that aint going nowhere" . With age comes wisdom. Great content. Keep them coming. Subscribed. I miss snow.

    Good to see you with stu again. I was wondering if we were going to get any videos this winter. Didn't know if it was lack of snow with this El Nino winter or something else. That was a pretty big system to dump that much snow. That tucker was berried for sure!

    Engine placement on the Cat has a huge influence on climbing abilities. This is why a winch climbs so much, the added Weight on the front of the cat.

    • @jshaf_3952
      @jshaf_3952 5 місяців тому

      These cats are mid engined and winch cats have their winch on the back deck with a boom that allows the winch to work 360 degrees. Snowcats run out of traction before power (usually) and so you can actually sometimes climb things you couldn’t after you let them sit and freeze for a bit.

    • @samlovescars34
      @samlovescars34  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah!! The traction they have is incredible.. Thanks for watching!!

    How does it work for Stu to make money from all the time and fuel spent in the snow cats? Also where in Utah is this area? In winter is it only accessible by snowmobile, backcountry cabins?

    • @samlovescars34
      @samlovescars34  3 місяці тому

      Hello! Almost any time that the cats are being used, he's doing something useful with them and getting paid. So this is up in No. UT but due to privacy concerns for the neighborhood, aka "blowin up the spot" I can't say exactly where it is, sorry!! Indeed, only accessible by sled. Very cool!! Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!!

    I can’t believe that people were dumb enough to be that close to a tow strap under that much tension. Wrong place , wrong time that could have life altering consequences and or kill somebody.

    • @samlovescars34
      @samlovescars34  3 місяці тому

      Yeah agreed. Dumb question: If you're farther away than the strap length, is that still 100% stupid? In any case I won't be doing it again and will bring a tripod or something if I'm filming a recovery. I appreciate you mentioning that and am glad the rope somehow held together... And thank you for watching!!

    I would have came up n donated my time with my mini excavator to help dig that machine out. That sucks spending days n days doing it by hand.

    • @samlovescars34
      @samlovescars34  5 місяців тому

      That would've been nice! Stu has one too but apparently they're not great on snow and get stuck easily. I can't believe they dug it out by hand... Such dense snow too. Thanks for watching!!

    • @tysonkotter5185
      @tysonkotter5185 5 місяців тому

      Yeah I saw he has one on today's video. I've had mine on some pretty soft snow and it went just fine. It's only a 4 ton machine though so. It floats on snow pretty good.
      Oh well. Maybe next time.
