I truly enjoyed watching your video. Good to learn about the history of Roswell. Glad you brought out the history of John Chisum, Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. Reminds of when I watch the movie Chisum. The story of the brothel was interesting. Glad you covered the history of the military base there. I did hear about Elvis plane and heard someone bought it. I vaguely remember about the German POW camp. You really covered some history tidbits and not just Roswell incident. Wish someone would fix up that historic Queen Anne house. It would be beautiful. Like so many towns historic areas or old areas of town has changed so much. Seeing the bunkers was pretty cool! UFO souvenirs are always interesting!

You and Marty put a lot into the research and well done presentation. Loved this one. BUT I love all of them and so look fwd to them. Right Marty, when I visited there it was all about the Aliens. Now I know the rest of the story which is a lot more than the wreck. CLICK that share button folks. Thanks SSS!!

I was stationed there in the early 60's. Walker AFB was a SAC base and the home of the 6th Bomb Wing. At its closing in 1967 it was a B-52E base.

Elvis' old jet was purchased by Jimmy of 'Jimmy's World' YT channel for $230K at auction. He did a series to see what it would cost to make it airworthy ( $7M) again, but even if he could get up the money, the jet would no longer meet current FAA noise restrictions. So while that bird will never fly again, I'm assuming Jimmy will move it to FLA and turn it into an Elvis themed Airbnb. Just thought you might like to know!😉

Very enjoyable yet somewhat triggering... I lived in Roswell from seventh grade through high school (Goddard). I remember my friends and me looking for the Iron Cross but it was still covered by concrete. This was long before the alien explosion, which occurred after a difficult oil bust. The mayor at the time took this urban legend and marketed it. I barely recognize Main Street now!

Hunters head North 60 miles to Murphy Cattle Company. Roswell sale ring has sold more head of cattle than any place on earth>1 Billion . Do watch for rattlers. Head 72 miles to the horse races in Ruidoso.

Roswell once had one of the highest concentrations of retired Generals in the US. Beautiful area, good folk, why not retire there? Nikes were an Army defense missile, and there were installations all over the US. I think the last ones were deactivated in the early 70s. Not all Nike sites are near bases - they are all over. Some good videos about them on this venue.

I worked with a man who was stationed at Walker and worked in the missile silos. There were at least 2 northeast of Roswell, 1 that is visible from US 380 west of Roswell, and at least 1 near Hagerman southeast of Roswell. Great job on the Roswell area history.👍👍

It's so refreshing to have someone as yourself provide a different take on the usual rehashed content other travel UA-camrs give on places like the one you and Marty are reviewing here, Sally. If I hear one more lame commentary about the Roswell aliens, I'll puke. What you're doing is what I might say is akin to the old 'deep cuts' series radio disc jockeys would do with popular artists' obscure tunes that didn't quite make it as 'hits' but compelling to listen to opposed to the usual major hits EVERYBODY played incessantly to the point of nausea similar to what I referred to formerly! 🤢🤣. I think you're on the right track moving in this direction, girl! Big thumbs up!👍

The Nike Hercules missile could carry a nuclear warhead on it to improve the chances of downing incoming Soviet nuclear bombers.
In the US it was tipped almost exclusively with nuclear warheads but in foreign countries it was a mix of nuclear and high explosive warheads. Many were deactivated in 1974 and all by 1979. In 1963 as a kid, I remember seeing a battery of them in downtown Chicago on the edge of Lake Michigan.
