Lou it’s unbelievable the work you’ve put into the build. Back in 1959 I owned one at 19 years old and trust me it was the hottest car around. My hat is off to you and I hope you and your wife enjoy the car for many years.

Beautiful car. One of my favorites. Had a 56 Ford Parklane, a one year only car. You stated that the Thunderbird badge on the front fender was only available with the 312 engine, when in fact it was on the 292/4 barrel engine.

Very nice! My favorite, the '56 Fairlane Series. But... the fender T-Bird insignia came on a production Failane or Station Wagon made with the Y-8, 292 4Bbl with dual exhaust, 202 HP.

What a great build! Sadly it was destroyed by the mag wheels, and lack of wide white wall tires. Once again if you intend to build era, you must stick with every amazing aspect of the time. This is not saying that customizing can’t be done, however sadly many do not appreciate the amazing beauty of the 1950’s model cars.

Wonderful work on car: I like it when used as car, though enjoyed Video. Interestingly, I had a 1956 Victoria/Thunderbird ENG/4 DOOR/ Air Condititioning, (DID NOT COOL, LOW MILE FLORIDA CAR, )White with soft Blue Interior In 1965/66: at least memory of a/c and Thunderbird Symbols was reason I bought it(.?).... be interesting to,see how many around now & if memory correct. Seems to,be a nice car.......was totaled in wreck.....
I guess if you like looking at something that never gets driven ( like a painting) its ok. I would rather have something I could drive and I wasn't worried about someone wrecking me. Lots of money spent to sit and look at something.

Lou Costabile don’t mean to insult! Love your car! Just so you know a TBS is basically a 292, with a four barrel and dual exhaust, rated at 202 hp in 56. The police interceptor is a totally different engine package rated at 225 Hp. As per 312’s you could get one in a Ford in 56, but they are rare and were standard in the Mercs. The standard motor for the Fords in 56 were 272 cu” with a 2 barrel carb. 312’s became standard in Fords in 57. Check out my page, I race a 56 Vicky hardtop Thunder Bird Special with the original 292, pushing 400 hp!

why spend so much time and money if your not going to drive it? it's like building Revell or Monogram car kit and displaying it on a shelf.
