It’s such a pity that VW has decided to let Ford do all the work such as designing and producing the new transporter. The VW managers talk about their Icon, but how is it possible that you treat one of your icons like this! Could you imagine that VW decided tot hand over the design and production of the Golf to one of their competitors? No VW, you have gambled that your clients would believe that your new Transporter is a real VW, but it’s just a Ford Transit with a different front end and steering wheel! As a very loyal VW customer I feel that you let me and for sure a lot of other VW customers (adepts), down. I have driven all the T7 predecessors but for sure I am not buying this Ford Transit clone! Thanks (not!) VW for squandering your iconic Transporter and alienating your loyal customers!😢
But the opposite is happening now! In my opinion because VW has neglected to invest in their legacy. They stopped producing some models without replacing them or outsourced development and production of some other models. Instead VW focused mainly on the development of EV’s but those doesn't sell that well and (Chinese) competition is severe. And now VW has to lay off large amounts of personnel and closing down one or two factories in Germany.
to the camera man: next time, go around and show us what he is talking about, the bottons, knobs, the display atc... basically, you are filming the face of a guy talking, but we want to see the van.
Can't take this anymore. How disappointing is this all. VW is killing all it's icons. Never asked the costumers what the want. I want a real Bulli made in Hannover Germany. Until then I will drive my T6.1
@@ThomasCampana-c1d I totally agree with you! I think it’s a disgrace that VW outsourced the development and production of their Transporter to Ford! A giant slap in the face of their loyal customers and they even didn’t care about the Transporter-series heritage!
The T4, T5, T6 and T6.1 were superior vehicles in every way compared with the Transits. How many 10 year old Transits do you see still chugging around? I cannot understand why Volkswagen has gone into partnership with Ford and moved production from Hamburg to Turkey. The front end styling is a complete disaster compared with the Transit, but I guess that was Ford’s objective.
I'll show you how much VW care..... just look at those wheel trims! No imagination whatsoever, just the cheapest they could source. Good luck with this! They must think people are stupid
@@completevan7567 Ehh yes ofcourse. how can you build an iconic van for decades truly designed by VW. Then come up with the all 'new' Fordswagen Transitorter. Do they think their client base is stupid right?
Why lower standard of most iconic van with ford, have had been driving transporter for 25 years and won’t be changing from t6.1, what a shame vw selling soul
😂Stop kidding yourself peoples, it’s still a Ford Transit/custom with a VW badge on it. I’ll wait until VW realise they’ve made a major cockup and revert back to having their own design before ordering my 4th Transporter!
If I want a Transit I'll buy a Ford, what are VW thinking going with this Ford partnership, no matter how you sugar coat it, its a Ford Transit with a VW badge, I'm sure some muppet in VW got a big bonus for coming up with this bright idea, how to loose a good market share in one easy lesson !!!
We understand the financial necessity to platform share. However, VW should've spent the money blown on the (geeky corporate airport taxi) new Multivan, instead towards better evolving the new Transporter from the Transit base vehicle. Still needs a proper solid VW dashboard and cleaner rear end, plus engineer out the cheap gimmicky Ford unreliability. We'll pay a bit more if we believe it it will last a lot longer..
Why why did they put a Ford engine in it, I am after six of these vans brilliant but that's it wont be buying another one, the 2.5 Diesel was a superb engine
I remember VW Sharan, some 25 ago was made through a joint venture. It was identical to Ford Galaxy and Seat Alhambra. Those vehicles were all ugly. Now is the same, VW DNA is missing.
Beware if this has the wet belt engine! The most stupid design to put a timing belt inside the engine emersed in hot engine oil - pure lunacy! I'll be keeping my mint 2012 California ❤️
Having now watched the video the two electric versions actually look much nicer with the colour coding - price is going to be important as the Ford eTransit custom in the UK is being discounted to £30k + vat & you can get a Buzz cargo for that price too so it’ll be interesting to see what they can sell them for my guess is the electric will end up cheaper than the diesel due to lack of demand which means it’ll be the bargain to go for :) & I’m not in anyway biased whatsoever lol

I bet T6 and T6.1 will be going up in interest
If it helps them stay in profit instead of closing factories, isn't that better?

Unfortunately its a Ford Transit with a VW badge on it and again unfortunately I believe it has the Ford wet belt cam belt
More LAZY engineering from VW Now we will see plenty of Rusty Transporters in 10 years time Ill be sticking with my T6 for a long time yet
Me too
Definitely not for me, I'll with my real Vw too.
Yeah why bother. When I was looking for a van shocked at the condition of transits at 5 years old, rusting junk.

Sorry!
Thanks for the tour.
You’re most welcome. Thanks for watching!
I own a T6 and probably will look for a T6.1
This is probably going to do wonders for T6.1 values

Sad that vw has allowed Ford to design of VW transporter now a vw Ford transit ….icon gone I’ll stick with my T5 . one thanks😮

Think this will negatively impact people's perception of the brand?

What’s about the small overlap crash test?
Its a ford with a vw badge??
It's been developed in partnership with Ford, but there's quite a bit of the blue oval in there.
What is the tow capacity?
2.8ton for 2L diesel if it’s that similar to transit custom
No highroof electric ? L2H3??
So happy to order my Mercedez Vito Tourer instead of waiting this.
When will you get it?
@@completevan7567 15th of December.
I see the loom in the rear load space in plain view ,also no roof liner, such a step backwards !
It's not a VW. It's a VW Transit a.k.a. Ford Transporter...It doesn't look bad, but pls don't call this a VW.
That's what so many people are saying
Why lower standard of most iconic van with ford, have had been driving transporter for 25 years and won’t be changing from t6.1, what a shame vw selling soul
Guess that's the challenge of trying to produce these vehicles nowadays. Ford and Volkswagen joined forces in an effort to reduce costs.
So sad to see just another fuelburner van. So: bad by design
It looks like a 2012 vauxhall vivaro
RIP VW

Totally agree with you on the Pan Americana, it really shows off the van's design. It's a pity that it's not coming to our local market.
