Wonderful episode, I became more and more enchanted and impressed by Pernilla and Caroline as the interview progressed and more in love with their patterns. As always, a pleasure to see you and Madeleine on the couch with your new projects. I have learned so much about fiber, colors, and techniques from your archives, you've expanded my knitting world and it's a pleasure to be a Patreon.
I loved this episode. Not only was the content of the yarn information interesting, but the mother and daughter relationships in this video is heartwarming. Lovely people.
Hi Andrea and Madeleine - I am a first-time accidental visitor on your channel. I love knitting in general and toys predominantly. I loved your show, and I was happily surprised when you started showing toys knitted based on Allen Dart's designs. I discovered this designer about 7 years ago and fell in love with his work. Since then I made at least 10 different toys using his designs. Mainly, I gift these toys, and everybody loves them. Recently, my husband rebelled and begged me to leave these beautiful creatures for us. This is why I have a few of them living with us now. Thank you very much for showing his work. It made my day brighter to know that there are a lot of people who admire his work too. Ella
Now this is an EXCELLENT knitting podcast……kudos……I am so tired of these nonsense podcasts about personal Iives…this is educational and so interesting….majestic me love Knitting for Olive even more
This was such a joy to watch! 😍 You captured them brilliantly and I loved learning more about how they started their business and the ideas behind the patterns and yarns.
The absolute BEST thing about KFO yarn is their range of colors, and they're not gaudy colors either like some yarn companies. I also really love that they keep the same yarns and don't rotate them out every year.
Joy! Pure joy! Pernille and Caroline remind me of Andrea and Madeleine! Did everyone get the same feeling watching this episode? Two talented mothers and equally talented daughters. I enjoyed the knowledge and superior skill of Pernille, she is the type of knitter so many of us wish we had as our mother, to learn not just to follow a pattern, but to know our knitting. She kind of made me think of Elizabeth Zimmermann. Plus, I must have some of their yarn! Hearing such commitment to creating a superior product is grand. Not to mention they took no loans but saved up and moved along as it came in! All commendable, true integrity and an example that instant gratification doesn’t exist everywhere. Thank you Ladies. This is a keeper!
Pernille is so talented to have made such lovely garments without a pattern! And she taught herself how to become a knitwear designer!! Wow. Thanks so much for such an informative interview. I'm working with Knitting for Olive mohair for the first time and it is dreamy.
Andrea, I agree, what a beautiful story! The beginning of their business, as described, was almost a happy accident, easily saying ‘yes’ to what was coming next, and pure joy! Thank you so much for introducing Knitting for Olive in such depth! ❤
They're so smart, Pernilla and Carolina! Their designs as well as their yarns, all is so well thought out. I can totally understand the knitters who started changing baby-designs into adult sizes to wear themselves ...
What a wonderful interview! You ladies do an absolutely exceptional job keeping your episodes educational and fun! I binge watched all Fruity Knitting episodes and learned so much. Keep up the good work! Love from Michigan. ❤ Ewa
Your colour coordination of jumpers, dining room accessories is noted! Lovely to see all the variety in every well researched segments. Well worth the Patreon subscription to keep this channel going. Best wishes, Madeline and Andrea from Canada.
Wonderful interview and so much lovely yarn and patterns! Thanks for another outstanding episode and the opportunity to be able to sit and knit with you once a month may push me to the Shetland level on Patreon! Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and joyful holiday season.
Thank you for interviewing the mother daughter of knitting for olive that was wonderful. It gave me a new appreciation for the yarn the designs and the company.as always I love seeing you Andrea and your daughter . I look forward to your program every month. For me it is the best program on you tube.
I have do much admiration for fruity knitting and all the people you bring on your episodes. I am knitting most of my life and its only now I'm learning so much. This episode has been an eye opener . Loved every moment and knitting for olive. Wonderful people. Thank you all so much.
Andrea, from the very first video, when you were wearing a sweater created by Jane Starnore I knew you were way beyond my knitting level. But I've enjoyed your videos since then. But since that first video I've found that you've been a perfectionist in your music and everything you touch... I so appreciate everything you do even though most of what you cover is WAY beyond my skill level. ❤❤😊😊
A truly beautiful interview. Lovely to know family coming together made such amazing patterns and incredible yarns. Thank you Fruity Knitting for another outstanding production.
Beautiful episode!! I LOVE Knitting for Olive Yarns, I have seen them in the shops, used it once and fell in love. Thank you for the in depth interview. I have a deeper understanding of their philosophy and the various yarns as well. That hat looks amazing on you Madeleine!!! Just wear it and wear it with your head held high because who cares if people stare. Cheers!
How I wished I had had patterns like knitting for Olive when my children and grand children were little. Wonderful episode as always. Many thanks Andrea and Madeleine for giving us this pleasure amongst all the grim news around us. Keep doing it.
I absolutely loved this interview with Knitting For Olive, thank you so much! I was actually knitting my second Baby Bear Balacava and had some KFO merino delivered while watching. I love their ethos, colors, yarns and designs, many of which I've knitted. I am so drawn to the nuanced colors that can be created by mixing merino and kidsilk yarns together. Thank you again for such an inspirational and fun episode. How about an interview with Isager, another mother/daughter team?
I've been hearing "Knitting for Olive" in the "yarnie streets" for several months now. Thank you ladies for this in-depth interview with them. 😍 Their partnership is something to admire and to aspire to. The idea of making a few of the kids' clothing items to learn complex techniques is sheer genius. ❤❤
I really enjoyed the episode! I have been a patreon member for many years. I think fruity knitting is the best knitting show by far. I hope that if anyone is watching and not a patreon member they will become so. Well well worth the investment. As always well done ladies!
Dear Andrea and Madeleine - as a very long-term viewer I totally agree with you when you declared this to be one of your very best interviews - it’s absolutely brilliant ❤ I was totally captivated by their patterns, the various yarns and their philosophy. After looking at their website I’m quite mesmerized - especially by the fact that they offer free international shipping on your first order - and I live a long way south in Tasmania!!I’m very excited by many of their designs and can’t wait to start my first 😊
I started binging this channel when the pandemic first hit... now three years later I have covid for the first time and I'm so glad the show is still here to keep me company! I learn so much every time. thank you both :)
An amazing episode through and through. I don't have the words to describe my joy to see the fascinating knitter, designer and creator that Pernilla is. Indeed the knitted toys by Alan Dart are magical. These people are God gifted.
I happened upon your video with Charlotte Stone while googling her on here today ! I loved the interview with her, and then watched another, and then came upon this one with Knitting for Olive !!! This was great, too, loved it !!! I have been knitting their Baby Bear hats since last year and they are addictive to knit !!!! Love, love the Merino with the Mohair !!! I subscribed and will be catching up on the older episodes !!! So glad I found Fruity Knitting!! !You two do a lovely job together !!🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶Happy Knitting !!
Thank you for making this interview! They are two beautiful women in all meanings of this word. It's an immense pleasure to watch them explaining their stories. It changes the way I will now look at their yarns.
Great episode. The glitter addition to Andrea's sweater. Never too much glitter.... What a great interview. Another lovely Mom and Daughter business. Awesome. I love their designs and much try their yarns. Thank you again.
What a great story. Two terrific mother/daughtercombos. I wish l had a little girl that l could knit for as those children’s designs are exquisite. Thanks for all the hard work you do to make these programs. ❤
Absolutely love your channel, so interesting. The knotted toy 'Outback Aussie' so cute and the nest of birds, really clever, yes remember Count Draculua, very impressive. The chess set is stunning.
Hello, Andrea and Madeleine. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. The interview with Pernille and Caroline of Knitting for Olive is outstanding! They are both delightful and their patterns and yarn are so beautiful. Andrea, I love the double knitting vest that you knit. I look forward to seeing the FOs of each of your blouses.
Wow, these infant and baby clothes are amazing! So well thought out and beautifully designed. Though I would imagine that some mom's would really prefer superwash yarns. You are making me feel rather "broody", though I'm in my 60s and neither of my adult children have any inclination to _have_ kids.
Wow so inspiring! I couldn’t stop watching - even though my knitting skills are advanced beginner at best. I’ll probably never be able to knit those gorgeous intricate designs but I learned so much about the different fibers and yarn combining and now I’m inspired to choose some luscious yarns to knit a basic dress or sweater for my granddaughter. Blessings to you all. 💗🙏🏻🧶
Thank you so much for a wonderful episode. I Knitting for Olive, and now I love them even more. As a Dane living in Australia, this episode made me very proud of the Danes and it made me miss my home country even more.
Quality segment thank you. Andrea grinning from ear to ear when the children's knits displaying, tells me she can't wait to have grand kids of her own and spoil them with beautiful knitted clothes.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and interview with KFO. I've long admired their yarn and patterns so getting a glimpse of their story was so inspiring! Thank you :)

This interview was amazing! I am very impressed by how mother and daughter work together. The explanation about their patterns and yarns was new to me and very thoroughly thought out.
Absolutely wonderful episode! I enjoyed learning about Knitting for Olive and certainly makes me want to knit all the baby knits. I want to thank you for talking about how to count gauge for a lace pattern. I have always struggled with this and seeing how you can just use common sense and measure in different areas is not only ok but encouraged. So thank you!
Thank you so much for another beautiful episode, I learned so much today about "knitting for olive" . In the future I will buy this yarn more and more because of their background and love to what they are making and carying for. I always watch your episodes. I was hoping to meet you at the Swiss yarn festival but I'didnt see you. Maybe next year in April? Happy knitting from Switzerland, Heidi
Another top notch episode! I haven't tried Knitting for Olive yarns yet - although I did find a LYS recently and actually got to see a few colors and feel the Merino and Silk Mohair. I feel so joyful, this episode was like a warm hug and watching this loving mother-daughter duo create something between them that is such as gift to the world makes me feel truly happy to have been invited. It gives me echoes of how you and Madeleine are a lovely duo together and my heart is so full watching the two of you in the same way. By the way, if you and Madeleine wished to frequently knit the same garment, it would be yet another excellent dimension regarding how knitting emerges individually from each of you as a knitter and could suit each of you individually. It bolsters faith in my own knitting and I am always rewarded watching your content. Have a lovely holiday month to come!
What an amazing episode! I really enjoyed watching the interview with the "Knitting for Olive" ladies, what to say about the cuteness of the baby patterns and how beautiful is their yarn🥰 The colours you chose for your projects are really wonderful 😊 I am not a big fan of knitting or crocheting toys myself, but Alan Dart's toys are really an exception. If I remember well I bought a couple of his patterns right after watching the interview you had with him. I think the Snowflake Angel you chose to knit will make a great gift. Have a very merry Christmas both of you and I am looking forward to watching your next video "dressed" as always with the perfect music you always choose 😍🎄👼⛄🧶
