Hey all, Some feel this is a 30min video of complaining, I am sorry if you have that perspective. This is a review of issues with the 2024 Hyundai santaFe Limited Hybrid AWD. I absolutely love this SUV, but the video goes over some woeful issues that IMO should be known before someone buys one. Since no other channel gives the negatives, I figured I would. Maybe this video isn't for you if you think everyone sh*ts rainbows.. 😂 Thanks for watching..
great video, dont apologize, ppl are too used to the marketing praise and forget that cars are often built with really stupid features sometimes, and thanks to ppl like you we can find out about it. THX!!!
I own this vehicle and I love it. Initially I thought the concerns you brought up are silly but the way you explained them made them think they are valid. Few things that I noticed - you can disable the face tracker thing from settings and still use adaptive cruise control. - I got a brown matte finish exterior color and it looks great in terms of look and quality. - I get anywhere between 32 to 37 mph daily depending on the way I’m driving. That’s another reason I wanted Hybrid. With large tank I don’t go to gas station often. - I’m not above 6 and gear controller does not hit my knees. In general I don’t any issues with interior and comfort. - Quiet: 100%. It is very quiet, they did a good job on the insulation. - Parking sensor warnings are annoying when parking in a tight garage as you have.
To add I don't like the position of the gear selector. I can't tell you how many times while driving I take my right hand to grab the steering wheel and my fingers tap the PARK button on the stalk. I'm thinking it won't go into park at speed but freaks me out none the less. Next, favorites on the radio it never stays. So every time I start the car I have to select Sirius then favorites. Any other vehicle I've owned is on your favorites when you start the car. Speaking of Sirius they give you 10 different ways to change the channel but you want to see who the artist is or rewind the song you have to hit a pop up screen. Hyundai's going look at this massive screen we have for you that you can do nothing with.
@@LR-ob2qu It's not just the length, but the softness at the end of the seat.. perhaps the one i was in was somehow screwed up, or maybe a regional difference.. just couldn't get comfortable in the calligraphy, and the pressure point on my leg was in a different spot. Was just my experience..
The Calligraphy model has an upgrade of the autonomous system that it’s not necessary to squeeze the steering wheel ? BTW I have a 2020 palisade haven’t had any issues with parking sensors or the adaptive cruise control thanks for your thorough review PS do you think the Calligraphy model eliminates the issue with adaptive cruise? It has had 2.0 and automatic lane change that’s just in the Calligraphy 2025 Hybrid again great review thanks
@@rongabbani5604 From what i understand the HDA2 system only adds offset vehicle passing, to allow you to stay in a drivers mirror as you pass longer and to offer more of a gap between you and objects, and offers blinker controlled automated lane change. I really would have bought the calligraphy but simply didn't like the seats.. Ironically had another issue today, which is when you have the sunroof open the cruise control won't work because of the sun glare off the facial sensor.. I would hold onto the 20 palisade and look elsewhere.. again, it's a very nice vehicle, but the electronics weren't well designed.
If you're on more flat land you'll get better fuel economy. Alabama, lots of mountains and hill roads. so less fuel economy. compared to the reported 34/36 mpg
@@jorgedeaguinaga2632 Typically that's not how hybrids work. You generally get more fuel economy in heavy traffic areas, and where you do more stop and go, residential areas. I don't think I would have bought a hybrid anything in a rural area where you have no traffic. It would be a waste of money. That said, on my mid western trip out of NYC i drove through areas of PA that has mountains and over the top of a mountain that has a sign as the tallest point on i80 and still got great mpg. In the mid west around corn fields on dirt roads where there's no other cars i still got close to 50mpg. I also typically drive like a NY'er and i think in hybrids that helps, i drove manual for 20+ years in NYC traffic.. so rapid starts and coasting as long as you can to stop is basically the best way to get mpg in a hybrid, you want as much propel from the electric motor off the line, so punching it will push you the furthest in ev.. once you get to speed, lift off the throttle so it transitions back to electric, stay light on the gas pedal to remain in ev mode and use the regenerative paddles to slow down, basically down shifting to slow down.. then do that same method over and over, so far my nyc best was 71mpg in this thing following that method.. I don't see why you couldn't get the same.. I don't know where in AL you are, but i did pretty well in Huntsville.. was a nice little town.
@@4xeGuy My 21 rav doesn't have that issue.. My 18 Rubicon doesn't have that issue either.. I don't think in my 30 years of driving, anything has had that issue. Most vehicles with a traditional gauge cluster have the analog gauges pushed into the binnacle and the digital gauges even in tft had the speedometer in the center, usually toward the top of the screen. Keep in mind after driving a manual transmission for 20+ years as a daily driver you tend to hold the wheel more with your left hand.. Thanks for watching..
@@4xeGuy If you change the pitch of the wheel the face tracker doesn't pick up your face, then you lose cruise control.. Should't have to pick which features work..

thank you for the video - great job man!
Great video. Can you do a video on disabling the fin call-home modem?

Wow i was about yo pill trigger on a Calligraphy but not now!
I appreciate the real world review. Are these issues such a problem that you will get rid of it?
Most helpful review of the technology in this thing, thank you.

We measured all the front seats and they are all the same length with or without the leg rests.
