Yes, ever since the Return in 1997, some find it hard to adapt to Chinese Culture and governance, hence establishing One Country Two Systems. Google. It spies on you and steals your phones photos to illegally use on advertisements. I had this experience some years ago but could not win the suit against them because they played dirty by using the power of money. To be frank, I don't give a freak about what European/American think about China; I have given up long time ago. Out of my forty years living, working and studying in the Western world, I have never ever come across with a positive report on China. Freak them! I am glad that I am now living in Hong Kong, China.

I am ashamed with my fellow British girl from Yorkshire and it speaks badly on the investigative research that I have to go through during my time doing my masters. My Professor use to tell me: look at all the aspects of the subject -ask the relevant questions- where does the info comes from? does it really reflect the Truth about it? we were told to question the source frequently and diligently so as to present the truth if not the nearest truth. Sadly nowadays, no one teaches that anymore - all the Uni's are about following the narrative and never the truth.
l was disappointed too. She did not follow the basic research disciplines. Her dissertation was driven by the mainstream media and she simply trusted the evidence she had. Basically, her academic work has no independent thoughts and it is just another political tool. If l were her, l would interview other people who live in Xinjiang and then check other sources as you said.

But on second thought, it kind of DOES make sense, since the education system in the west, seems to place more emphasis on bullshitting your way through assignments, rather than actually crafting anything of comprehension and/or nuance. I once wrote an 8 page paper, that the professor said, needed to include like 10 different sources. I just read 1 book, and then listed some of the sources, that the author cited in HIS book, and I got an A. It's actually brain-dead. No doubt this chick just went into some database, pulled out some Adrian Zenz type papers, and then just did her whole paper on that. One belief I have about life in general, be it individuals or nations, is that they are never as bad as their worst detractors but rarely as great as they view themselves. In short, we are always evolving and trying to be a better version of ourselves, nations do not deviate from this philosophy in my estimation. It was a reasonable kaleidoscope of different people being interviewed. Well done.
I'd love to see that person's Masters research on the genocide in 'jinyang'. As a Chinese living in Australia for over 30 years, I plan to move back to China and travel around the whole country in-depth in 2025. Although Australia is a beautiful country in its own right. However, my inner thought urges me to get back to the root of where I was come from. I am looking forward to the 2025 travel plan!

The biggest problem I have with people in the west who suddenly care about Xinjiang is: where were you when your country supported all those invasions and coups and bombings in the Middle East? You care so much about a supposed genocide in Xinjiang where almost no one died, but what have you done to address and compensate the fact that over a million Middle Easterners died and tens of millions more had their lives ruined as a result of your country and your alliance's actions, which you had a much more significant impact on and duty to stop? This is why I was so sad when I was watching the riots caused by the young HK kids in 2019 filled with so much hate in them even though they just live next door to China and comparing them with me from Malaysia who is thousands of km away where most of the ethnic Chinese here understands China. As a Chinese living in Canada, I thought all of us living in a different country should have the experience of reading lots of news that are talking about same stuff but having totally different focus and conclusions. So we should know what media is. But I guess many people never really think about it.

When China ban Google and ang UA-cam, people saying there is no freedom in China. 2 countries are doing exactly same thing. The Yorkshire girl interview is a very sad one. The girl definitely don't have any skill in investigation or research in general. And the fact that she did a paper for her studies on the subject and still end up miss all the holes is kind of embarrassing. How good could she be at her job if she can't even do proper research or at least see the problems in the sources she is using?

I am ashamed with my fellow British girl from Yorkshire and it speaks badly on the investigative research that I have to go through during my time doing my masters. My Professor use to tell me: look at all the aspects of the subject -ask the relevant questions- where does the info comes from? does it really reflect the Truth about it? we were told to question the source frequently and diligently so as to present the truth if not the nearest truth. Sadly nowadays, no one teaches that anymore - all the Uni's are about following the narrative and never the truth.

One belief I have about life in general, be it individuals or nations, is that they are never as bad as their worst detractors but rarely as great as they view themselves. In short, we are always evolving and trying to be a better version of ourselves, nations do not deviate from this philosophy in my estimation.
