Barrie I absolutely love your videos. Your a man of integrity and you presented well evidenced arguments which expose the woke nut zero eco zealots which are trying to destroy the car industry! Keep up the good fight.
I came across a video from RSymons, a trader in EV's. He used stats from Auto Trader to show the trends in the market over the year. It showed there was a greater demand for used EVs but also a large number of cars coming onto the market, which of course affects the values. New technology tends to be expensive, so needs subsidies to get established eg. Solar panels and heat pumps. I've had both for 14 years. The solar panels have made been a great investment and the heat pump has saved a lot of money over an oil boiler. I wouldn't have considered either without subsidies. The government has stopped all subsidies for EVs and is destroying the car industry with the EV mandate. The new VED changes are crazy, you will pay the same for a Super Car as an EV. Why cant Politicians see that their policies are ridiculous and harmful. I understand that if you buy a new EV before April you won't pay the luxury car tax, so no doubt there will be a rush of sales and then a big drop.
My understanding regarding road tax and used EV vehicles over £40 000 when new. Yes zero rated until April 2025 then liable at £195 plus £400 premium for the next 5 years. At least that’s how it’s been explained to me.

They couldn't be more vile to look at.
Depreciation is laughable.
We go on 4 luxury holidays per year by running older cars which don't depreciate and are more reliable.
Happy days 😎
@julesviolin I'm not wrong at all. YOU choosing not to buy a new car does not make my comment wrong. Your car is not more reliable and your holidays are irrelevant. You laugh all you like at depreciation, so can many people that choose to buy new cars.
@mikebreen2890 I'm so glad you do so I can buy your depreciated assets
@@mikebreen2890 you are wrong.
Like I say, I can afford to buy a new car but I choose not to.
Instead I choose to buy other folk's depreciated assets, and for that I thank folk like you for buying them new
ex spurts, a has been and a drip under pressure...
😊
as for the comment on the "more than half (60%) of all vehicles" if the person that wrote that hadn't tried to put a positive BS spin on it they'd have realised that 2 thirds of the market(66%) is much closer to 60% than half (50%) its BS marketing spin from people hoping that the crash isnt coming, keep the charade running for a little longer and hopefully it'll all work out....a bit like the GFC of 2008.
You should see the problems in america,, the trucks ford pickups etc used to sell themselves,, now some are still new built in 2023,, 2024s are 100s of thousands and now the 2025 models are piling up its officially a recession here as well
@@hannahtimson2526 well as we say "When America sneezes, the world catches a cold" coming to a UK forecourt near you in 2025...
Can i now walk into bmw/mini and buy a ready built mini cooper s petrol for cash and drive it away or is cash still banned at dealers
No but you could probably just get the desperate salemen to drop as much off the purchase price because your not happy with the interest rates being higher now on a depreciating asset (say they £2k off it), take the HP finance option, and then just clear it off the next day without it costing you much more than a few quid depending on the purchase price...just make sure they arent trying to saddle you with one where you cant pay it off the next day, some have settlement periods where you cant pay it off in say 30 days, meaning they get you paying more.
@@weegaz22 Guess 2k is better than him dropping his trousers but a smile might get me 2.5K off which is around what carwow would get
This nextday payoff would have to be a bank transfer which is what i was trying to avoid... Banks like oh so you're paying in 30K where did it come from,, how did you get it etc see the issue.....
@@hannahtimson2526 ahh, I was assuming it was already in the bank, in which case they'd already have a history of deposits and account accumulating said money
@@weegaz22 Oh you have been helpfull as i can also do the bank transfer.. I heard you get a better deal if you use the dealers finance as dealer gets a bonus for it.... Shame you can't just walk in with a breifcase and say " now how much was it you say" whilst opening the breifcase then closing it,, games on... I miss those days
@@hannahtimson2526
Those days have been gone for a long while tho. No dealer wants to sit on hundred of thousands in bank notes at the end of the day (if they shift a lot of cars). That is just asking with a bright neon sign arrow to get robbed blind by a moped gang piling in waving knifes around
Inaudible sorry
I’m sorry too, but it’s perfect on mine
Combustion will die all by itself in 2025. EV sales are going to boom as prices come down fast!!!
But electricity prices will go up so back to square one. There is no such thing as a free lunch. 🤷🏻♂️
Sure.
@@JohnSmith-ux3tt What a miserable channel. And we all die yes?
Combustion is going nowhere, especially not in 2025. If that happens society is fucked beyond repair within days count on it. You're also a tiny ass hiccup away from a European interconnected electrical grid wipeout
