I found that knocking the new pins into the cones was really difficult.Keeping the holes lined up while trying to get enough force on the hammer while holding the punch against the fiddly little pin with limited space.
Same here Man. Hard as hell. My have a mate with blow torch coming by to give me help. Did you though that pins went at the wrong angle after hammering it for 10 minutes without much luck? I found new pins are longer than old one to so it will take longer to push that.
I'm having this exact same issue. The new comes seem to have a 3mm diameter rather 4mm. I've lost tension in the spring and the job has turned into a nightmare 🙄
Is there a video for swapping out a Garador MK3c lock as I'm keen to know if there are certain areas creating difficulty. This lock uses the vertical thumb lever you push in to open after turning key. Thanks.
Hi, great video. One question, the wooden beam my spring is attached to is now rotten. If I lock of the tension on both ends can I remove the spring from the wooden beam so I can replace the beam?
Great video, my issue is I can get the pin out but can't take the plastic end off as its too close to the wall 🤦♂️any help don't really want to be taking the full spring bar off.
Can you come and do that for me mate? 😀 I'm anxious even when thinking that I need to do it lol. Will have to pull myself together and crack with it this weekend or even today.
@@MrMeltedwellies I've changed the roller but having hard time tapping the cone pins out. Do you remember if they can come out both way? I left it 'soaking' with WD40. Cheers
Just put the cables and cones on. It's a bitch to get the pins out on the cones. But the cords are loose when I open the garage door. Which i still need to use something to keep it open.
Brilliant video, helps take the panic out of the job. Well done and thanks from all us DIY'ers . Robert Wood, Rothesay, Scotland
Glad to help
Great video, thank you.
The cones are stamped with L and R to show which is which. You can see the L at 1.29 on your clip.
For love god you made this look simple. I spent 3 hours and gave up after moving my garage door forward
Sorry lol
@@MrMeltedwellies haha
About to try this myself, very useful vid - thanks!
Good luck be careful they bite

Nice one Shropshire
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m hoping this has all my answers 🤞
got the exact same kit ... but my roller bars are too short pretty sure yours would have fitted with circlip on inner most indent?
Hi I am tensioning mine but only the left side is tensioning the right is not spooling any ideas?
Good job
Must be 30 years since we built the garage 👍
I think you will find the cone is marked with R and L on the big flange.
Hi I am only getting tension on the left side the right does not seem to roll up any ideas?
Not without looking
Good useful vid...there are some awful ones!
Too true!
Where can I get replacement cones and cables
Would try not to use grease gathers all dirt and dust. Use 3in1 or wd40.

Cheers Lewis thanks for advice
I use wd40👍
The letters L & R are embossed on your cones🙄

You can do it Artur

There's a video here somewhere which tells you how to sort that....
Sounding like a pleasant guy but I would score this only 3 out of 10 . Sorry . I'm sure you can do better .
