- A failed plot to attack Pope Francis has led to several arrests in Indonesia. Police detained seven people for making terror threats online against the pontiff during his visit to the world's most populous Muslim-majority country. The suspects are accused of posting statements and images, threatening bomb blasts at the pope's public meetings in Jakarta.
That includes his visits to Southeast Asia's biggest mosque, Jakarta's cathedral, the presidential palace as well as the national football stadium. Saifulbahri Ismail and Leong Wai Kit report.
Great job and respect to the police preventing the satanism act of the perpetrator.

Meanwhile in other democracies countries for example the USA, or probably your country (Singapore) does not have this kind of rule, and internet users can comment on anything including threats or hatred even over their presidents. Just to make it clear here. In this case, Indonesian police did preemptive action..
But the law also has weaknesses in that there are rubber articles, apart from that it can also be used by the ruling authorities to suppress political opponents or suppress criticism made by civil society.
18US CODE § 875C and CDA § 230 has provision to deal with threatening messages made by perpetrators
Singapore has In its Penal Code §503-507 deals with intimidation against individuals and reinforced with POHA for the threats made online
