That Barney, what a character! Thanks Flick Vault for this entertaining and suspenseful picture. Oh, and the bonus of this picture is the excellent Honor Blackman.
If you don;t like the film then you don;t like the film - not the person uploading it. I've commented a movie stunk but thanked the person for his effort anyway. I don't like The Wizard of Oz and loathe Sound of Music but would thank the uploader (if I wasted my time watching them). It's what makes horse races. (I loved this film the first time I saw it.)
Really good movie. This should have been turned into a series. Yet I wouldn't know, without any credits, not knowing actors, director, producers or the studio where this was filmed? I really enjoyed this. I have found British movies and TV series have the best writers and love the B&W stuff before my time. Yes, some of the quality is too dark, because films haven't been restored before they started to deteriorate and we don't have the adjustments on UA-cam that our old TV's had for light/ dark and contrast. I'm very happy you shared this.
Karilee Anderson. The main actors are Tom Conway, Honor Blackman the film was directed by Henry Crass in 1956, The studio was probably under D & P studios for RKO Pictures UK. Tom Conway played The Saint in the late 40s he took over the part from George Saunders.
In general ... British Movies are the worst to see. Homosexual actors pushing pro-police agendas and always promoting their Zion Banking as Rule of Law. Their movies are all MI6 scripted and don't forget they still worship their (((ROYAL))) Family. They love to be Ruled by someone else. Pretentious Sheep.
Interesting to see a young Canadian actor, John Colicos as a henchman in this and the other film in this series, "Barbados Quest". He was a prolific actor in American TV.
A film without opening titles is like a book without a cover-dismaylingly incomplete. However it was interesting to note such stalwarts as Bruce Seton, Arthur Lowe and Freddie Mills appearing, as well as the actor who used to portray Little Richard in the Robin Hood TV series, whose name I have forgotten.
Tootie fruite oh rootie. She’s my baby. Awap wabbalua awab bamboone. I’m a 79 year old woman and those were the popular songs of my era. All so familiar and remembered with fondness. 🎼🎵🎶
I Will Always Prefer Tom Conway to George Sanders. I Also Think That The Reason That George Sanders Had To Verbally Destroy His Brother so Viciously and Venomously, Is Because He Was Always Jealous and Envious of His Brother, Tom Conway.
@@minbannister3625 It was said that he couldn't get work as an actor in his late '40s after becoming typecast as the rotund Friar Tuck in t.v.'s popular "Robin Hood" series of the late '50s: another explanation is that he was in trouble over gambling debts. All irrelevant now.
The general plot situations got a bit repetitive here, but an entertaining, frequently humorous slapstick hour nonetheless....!!! 👌 Tom Conway revives some of his earlier roles demeaner, though throughout his career, he never quite reached the level of unaffected, true _"suave"_ as his older brother, the unparalleled George Sanders. 😎 A FUN watch though = *THX* Flick Vault. ✔
*THX* for the correction, Alana, as I should have confirmed with IMDb 1st!!! I had always assumed that George was older, due to his very mature sense of *_"suave"_* !!!
Why does Tom's friend have to close the Kitchen door, just to boil some Tea Water? That is one more thing that makes NO SENSE, cuz nobody, not even I, would do something that lame.
Breakaway (1956). British thriller directed by Henry Cass. Stars Tom Conway, Michael Balfour and Honor Blackman. A private eye, ‘Duke’ Martin, is hot on the trail of a stolen secret formula and a kidnapped young woman.

Another British movie that starts out in the dark. And continues in the dark, even the rooms are dark. Is there not at least one director with an imagination? How I lasted 11 minutes with this trash is a miracle.
Jeez that was dark (visually)! If I had paid to see it at the cinema I'd have asked for half my money back as I could only see half of it! Having watched this and Barbados Quest back to back I can only say thank goodness they stopped at two! "Duke" is such an unpleasant character, played with zero warmth by Tom Conway, and the attempts at a "buddy" duo with comedic overtones are ruined by him basically bullying "Barney". I wonder if it was written/directed that way? I suspect not, I think it was Conway's acting.
Now what I just saw Tom Conway do, was about as stupid as it gets. Running away, and then stopping, to look at whose chasing you, then starts up running away again. Nobody ever does that, if you really want to get away from someone, cuz seriously, that really is laughable.

Marc Sabor, The Vice, Tom Conway etc. I love them all. British do it best! The more the better. Keep em coming. Thank You!
Usually don't like British movies that much but this film is really good.
Tom Conway was a wonderful actor. Both smooth and cleaver.
Maybe he just didn't get enough good parts, as someone once said of Robert Ryan.
Let's hope he wasn't clever with a cleaver.
Or a card carrying clever cleaver from Cleveland.
I agree...................but he was a terrible alcoholic. His brother George Sanders finally gave up on him.
I Walked With a Zombie
The barman: Freddie mills, boxer, light heavy weight world champion 1948 to 1950
And he acted great. That profile, that nose, is a dead giveaway lol, if yur into boxing. Which I always was since young for some reason👊 🤜🤛

Why are there 3 dislikes for this already?????? Thanks for uploading a quality film 👍
Because it is a very poor film.
@@petergibson2035 So the guy takes his time and effort to u/l a film and you give him a dislike cos you don`t like the film?????
This is a good film.
Andi Campbell. Because some People don't like great classic movies. They want to watch this cacatti we have today.

@@eddiehumphries841 Tom was actually George Sanders' brother...
Thank you for all of your efforts that you do, to put into your craft and videos. It is very much appreciated. ❤️❤️🥰😍🥰❤️❤️
Love Flick Vault. Great movies.
I do Love this Murder Mystery Movie though ! It's a goodie !! Thank you for this beauty !!!
Interesting to see a young Canadian actor, John Colicos as a henchman in this and the other film in this series, "Barbados Quest". He was a prolific actor in American TV.
John was a Klingon in Star Trek.
Thank you for uploading this film F V. Good film 👍🇬🇧
Tom and Michael make a good team.A tv series might have been a good idea.
Tom Conway, the brother of George Sanders. Honor Blackman, Bond girl in Goldfinger.
I love the old British movies, they are so much better than American movies
Funny ending. Love the old B&Ws.
Great movie, poor Barney in the end🤣
Really hood film thx 🙏🏻 for posting it
Very Good. Thanks again
Thanks Great Film 🎥 😊
Tom Conway and a very young Honor Blackman.
Thank you.
Great film and a re pleasure to be British
Love Tom!! Ps. Kitchen door closed cause its in the script lol.
Great classic ❤

Little Richard was a singer.
Archie Duncan played [not-so-little-] "Little John" in the "...Robin Hood " t.v. series
The incidental-music was overdone
Rutti Tutti

8:14 fist bump between friends!
That was very enjoyable thankyou ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant!🎉
Honor Blackman!!
Right Stephanie Hand. I'm looking for movies about him as we speak. Cool really Cool.
The amount of ads is nauseating.
Doc Morrissey from the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin,John Horsley.
Another British film good cast
Scriptwriter decided it would be great to do it in a circular arrangement!
thank you
Friar Tuck and MacAllister are one and the same🤣🤣🤣🤣
Arthur Lowe from Dads Army the photograph developer ?
Early fist bump😺
Love the cars
Great movie
thanks
I love His brothers movie also
I'd take any one of the many cars in this movie.
great
Love Tom Conway but this video was to dark literally to each.😢😢😢😢
I Will Always Prefer Tom Conway to George Sanders. I Also Think That The Reason That George Sanders Had To Verbally Destroy His Brother so Viciously and Venomously, Is Because He Was Always Jealous and Envious of His Brother, Tom Conway.
Conway was a drunk. His brother George gave him the Falcon series but he screwed it up too.
08:15 - 'Fist bump', 1956 style.
I know it’s B&W but it’s very very dark and hard to watch
Movie in the dark what a lark…
The fat guy was friar tuck in the Richard Greene Robin hood television series.
Alexander Gauge.
He killed himself in 1960 with "pills"; it was front-page stuff even in the provinces; now Gauge is quite forgotten.

why not lighten the move so we can see it . I am sure someone who knows computer could do this very easy
They COULD just colorize it. Doing that with a print wouldn't affect the original master copy.

WHERE ARE THE CREDITS!?
No credits or opening?
We are left in the dark.
All i know about the film is that Arthur Lowe is in it, not sure for how long though
Yes I thought I imagined it.
It was slow and obscure but tolerable until the silly chase at the end which was entirely out of place with the tone of the film.
Friar Tuck
I really like this movie and Tom Conway's performance, but I don't like the beginning it's bleak and dark.
finding it a difficult film to follow
does anyone see one of the future big stars from the JAMES BOND FILMS!!!! Honor Blackman and also the avengers
She's the leading lady!!!!!Durrrrrrrrrr.........
