great video. Was sweating it a little for you. I was also worried about the cat, glad its back. It puts the home touch back. Keep up the great work. Love it.
Brad, in your rivered Queens-full hand, betting so large into the aggressor on the river seemed like a mistake driven by a bit of frustration with how your session had been going beforehand. Also, my impression is that because you had underrepped your hand each street until the river, your 2nd-nut full house most likely would have been super underrepped if you had checked the river continuing to give the villian the chance to be aggressive. If the villian had a straight on the flop, there’s a good chance he would have made some kind of bet on the river, such as to possibly get value from KQ or AQ, or even KJ. And if the villian had been bluffing with air, he’d probably continue bluffing to try to salvage the hand, and probably with a largr bet. In contrast, betting 2/3rds pot into the villian when the board paired on the river pretty much telegraphed that you were value-betting. At least that is how I see it.
Tough to be frustrated when I rivered a full house in an already big pot that was going to get me above the even mark regardless of if the opponent puts any more money in. Sucks that he had 72o, obviously wish I could've checked knowing that. I think it's rare that he's going to have complete air like he did, and even in those instances he's not just going to be blasting away 100% of the time after I called a 3-bet preflop, a flop bet, and a big turn bet. Seemed a lot more likely he'd have a hand he wouldn't want to fold like an overpair, a straight, or even a smaller full house. Some of those hands won't call check-raises (or may even check back) but might call a pot-sized bet, which is the sizing I used.
Rampage did a nice blog post about how much he made from UA-cam and he has about 20% the subscribers you do, so it's easy to deduce you are making a very nice number from UA-cam. Congrats. I enjoy all of your blogs and commentaries. Keep it going!

Great episode. Been watching since beginning and am really happy to see, what appears to be, a genuinely nice person reap loads of success in such a you competitive environment in your endeavors. Cheers
Brad :) a tremendous call with the pockets jacks!! i think you knew it was almost 50/50 ..well done mate..but the quad 10's was a iffy call you should of known you were beat ..
Is it normal to lose when beginning to play poker at casinos? I’m 19 and been playing poker for years with friends and online. I went to the casino for the first time and got absolutely destroyed. I took a couple months to work on my mistakes and decided to go again, my 2nd time and 3rd time. The 2nd time I was off to a good start but got card dead for 6 hours of play and got cleaned out again and the 3rd time was off to a bad start and went from 300 buy in down to 130. I got it back up to 306 and then got card dead and eventually lost it all after getting slightly tilted. I realized after the first time that I can’t just focus on my cards and need to focus on the other players tendency’s and their cards. I worked on paying attention to my opponents way more and the 2nd time I can tell I improved on that. I realized after the 2nd and 3rd time that I need to work on my ranges, sizing, and paying even more attention to what the other opponent(s) can have. Wondering if it’s common to lose when u start playing at the casinos for the first couple of times and it’s just getting more experience.
Went through the same thing. Online is a lot different. In general at low stakes live you don’t have to be very aggressive. If you clean up your pre flop ranges and don’t go crazy with stuff like A4s where you may in a more competitive environment, you should be fine. There’s so many loose passive players that playing good hands in position and cbetting is really good. When you come across those loose agressive players just tighten up and let them blast off. You’ll be good eventually but realize that folding marginal hands saves you a ton of money
I'm 18 and have been going to Charity poker events for a while now (can't go to casinos yet). I lost quite a bit my first couple times but have been winning consistently now. A lot of it is being at the right table with old guys that aren't fully involved in the game. Use your age to your advantage because a lot of older guys think they can bully you.
I lost probably my first 3-4 sessions live. But it's similar to a new online site. Takes some getting used to. Just play through and try to be as comfortable as can be. You'll get the hang of it. Also you see a lot less hands so it might seem like you're running bad longer.
Also I always play tight preflop and aggressive post flop which in my opinion is a very safe way to go about playing with people you don't know. Of course mix in some squeezes etc. and show bluffs to the table when its right.
Glad to see you playing the Lodge. That action is outstanding, and gets you cautious enough to consider that the play has one 'joker' in odds considering the RNG extra 'chance' taken to make the nuts as some Lone-star gamblers will float... :)
Props for mentioning the UA-cam income mate! I think I commented on an earlier video that Rampage did a video just on his income from UA-cam which was just crazy. I was watching the stream and saw how much you were down at one stage and couldn’t believe it.

@@BradOwenPoker That’s for the explanation. That’s why you are a pro and I’m a recreational scrub at this game. 🤗
I don't play poker, but I appreciate your insight at the end of the video Brad, a really cool thing to do!
Thanks for the honesty. Love your videos!

Enjoyable as always . As much as you seem to enjoy the 7-2 game . I don't think it's your friend . Be safe out there .
Thank you for helping make each of us better poker players with your videos.
Hello!
Rampage did a nice blog post about how much he made from UA-cam and he has about 20% the subscribers you do, so it's easy to deduce you are making a very nice number from UA-cam. Congrats. I enjoy all of your blogs and commentaries. Keep it going!
Congrats for "unsticking" yourself. Great vlog, really shows true up and downs of high stakes cash game.
The action is insane it's like I'm watching a completely different poker vlog.
Here we go! My favourite video of the week 🤪
Hey Brad, love your videos can’t wait for each new episode. I am pretty green to the poker world and have been looking for some good book recommendations that you feel helped progress your game. I have heard you mention treat your poker like a business and I read that and it completely changed my thought and work processes, was wondering what other books influenced you to become a better player
Great episode. Been watching since beginning and am really happy to see, what appears to be, a genuinely nice person reap loads of success in such a you competitive environment in your endeavors. Cheers
My heart was thumping during the JJ vs AK hand. Rooting for you Brad!
Brad :) a tremendous call with the pockets jacks!! i think you knew it was almost 50/50 ..well done mate..but the quad 10's was a iffy call you should of known you were beat ..
Thank you very much for Video 😊
Thats why poker pros keep tums and Rolaids close by. Great roller-coaster coast ride for sure!
200 blogs to learn how to make money playing poker, and he buys ownership in The Lodge, so....
I remember you were stressing out playing 10/20/40 back then. Look how far you’ve grown. Congrats brad
Yeah, that's a big game for sure and still gets my heart racing. Thanks Khoa Le
Glad to see you playing the Lodge. That action is outstanding, and gets you cautious enough to consider that the play has one 'joker' in odds considering the RNG extra 'chance' taken to make the nuts as some Lone-star gamblers will float... :)
Nice honest commentary at the end there Brad, fair play to you
Great video Brad, the swings were fun to watch.
Really enjoy your channel, I learn more everytime I watch by the way you change up your play, hope you run good!👍
Great job.... so humble and genuine.
Props for mentioning the UA-cam income mate! I think I commented on an earlier video that Rampage did a video just on his income from UA-cam which was just crazy. I was watching the stream and saw how much you were down at one stage and couldn’t believe it.
My two top favourite UA-cam poker players beside each other what a dream.
One of your best vids, really liked the hand breakdown with Ethan.
Loved the dual perspective in a whole hand. I’d like to see more of that. 👍
Fun seeing you and Rampage together!
wow goated the fact that you are still level after a bad run impresses me every time
Brad, great work love the detail you put into the videos..Keep it up!
Good on you mate, great to get your commentary at the end, we’ll done
