Ya that's right i went from asking about pizza hut to mummies...lol. You think astronomy is fascinating and I think mummies are. I'm enjoying the first person point of view! Thanks
Yes, the trains have AC in the summers and heaters in the winter. Though with Covid, they tend to crack all the windows now for some kind of airflow, even with the AC on too. I imagine the conductor's area is probably warm, but I have seen fans in them before. Pizzahut.jp has a list of many of their toppings. There are definitely many toppings not seen in other countries. Thanks for this video Cory. My usual stop is Kanamachi station, but it's nice to know I could go to Matsudo first and get on the rapid line straight to Ueno. The Joban line from Kanamachi goes to Nezu station which is a longer walk. What is this line called? Joban rapid line?
It's called the Ueno-Tokyo Or Joban Rapid. The stops are Ueno > Nippori > Mikawashima > Minami-Senju > Kita-Senju > Matsudo for either line. The Joban rapid one ends at Ueno, but if you catch the Ueno-Tokyo, it goes all the way to Shinagawa. Very useful to get directly to Tokyo Station or further south from Matsudo.
Choo Choo - just got to this point in video before stopping at Nippori station LOL! A lot of construction or is that yellow tape to stop passengers from going into those areas?
Are you talking about inside of Ueno Station or what part? Any of the construction on the platforms and in the station are all real and they usually put up those white barrier walls to prevent people from going into those areas. I hope that helps explain it. hehehe
@@CoryMay81 I was talking about the tape at Nippori station @ 19:09 of the video. It looks like this is merely caution tape at the very end of the train platform.
@@CoryMay81 I know of the caution tape up in Ueno station, to prevent people from hitting their heads on the lower than normal passages within Ueno station.
Yeah, travelling around Japan is definitely on my list of things to do. It's just not that safe to travel right now and my income took a big hit from the pandemic in 2020 so I'm just trying to save up money right now. I haven't been to Nara since I was 13 years old, back in 1995. So it would be nice to visit again and make some videos about that.
There has never been a law mandating that people wear masks. Japan has been a mask-wearing culture for many decades so wearing one during the pandemic was very easy for everyone to get on board with. There were already stores specializing in making and selling masks long before Covid. During the pandemic though, stores and shops have policies that customers must wear masks and sometimes force the use of hand sanitizer (hand sanitizer is at the doorway of every store and shop now). I went to a ramen shop that told customers to wear their mask until their ramen arrived to their table. In general, though, most restaurants don't care if you take off your mask once you sit at your table. You're going to take it off anyway to eat. Japanese are pretty aware of the pandemic and so everyone collectively wants to do the right thing, by wearing masks at all times.
I'll try... but with so many employees working there and watching every customer to see if they can sell me something, they might notice the camera. It'll be really difficult, I think. hehe
In my 2+ years of being back in Japan, I've only seen 1 man carry on a foldable bicycle. I have never seen anyone else bring a bike on the train like they do in Seoul. I'm not sure if it's a rule or just an unspoken societal/cultural thing. A quick Google search resulted in this: www.google.com/amp/s/japan-cycling.com/trains-bike/amp/
I have not. I've been meaning to film there for awhile, but it was not ideal for live streaming and I didn't have a good small camera for the footage that I wanted. Now that I have the Pocket 2, I think I can finally go there and make the kind of video I wanted to make. I haven't been there in a long time so I hope some of the stores are still open and not closed due to the pandemic. Stay tuned!
Awww sorry to hear that. I hope my videos can help you feel like you're in Japan again, at least until the borders reopen to tourists and you can come back. Thanks for watching!
@@CoryMay81 don’t worry your videos make me happy, my nostalgia meter goes through the roof 👍🏻 been hearing sorta good news about Japan dealing with the pandemic and if everything goes according to plan hopefully I’ll be back in 2022
Yeah. I was in middle school in Yokosuka when the Aum Shinrikyou cult did that and it was really scary to ride trains that time, especially since it was also rainy season and there were water puddles everywhere, and sarin in liquid form was clear and odorless like water.
I teaching adults English 1-on-1 full time. I've been working from home since March 2020 but before that, I was working at an office location in Ikebukuro.
hahaha It can be overwhelming, but this commute is so frequent for me that I can do it blindfolded. Maybe in other stations around Tokyo, I'd get lost. hehe

hehehe Choo choo! Thanks for watching~
@Cory May Hello Cory. Are bicycles allowed on the trains?
In my 2+ years of being back in Japan, I've only seen 1 man carry on a foldable bicycle. I have never seen anyone else bring a bike on the train like they do in Seoul. I'm not sure if it's a rule or just an unspoken societal/cultural thing.
A quick Google search resulted in this: www.google.com/amp/s/japan-cycling.com/trains-bike/amp/
Have you done a Kappabashi tour yet? Just curious.
Stay tuned!
@@CoryMay81 thanks, my wife and I work in foodservice & we love seeing all the different gadgets 🙏🤙🤙🤙
Can't wait
Ughhhh I miss the Tokyo metro so much…..
Awww sorry to hear that. I hope my videos can help you feel like you're in Japan again, at least until the borders reopen to tourists and you can come back. Thanks for watching!
@@CoryMay81 don’t worry your videos make me happy, my nostalgia meter goes through the roof 👍🏻 been hearing sorta good news about Japan dealing with the pandemic and if everything goes according to plan hopefully I’ll be back in 2022
Choo choo!!!
❤❤❤❤
@Cory May (On the subject of the folks that did the Sarin Gas Attacks) And now you know why there aren’t any outdoor trash cans in Tokyo!
Yeah. I was in middle school in Yokosuka when the Aum Shinrikyou cult did that and it was really scary to ride trains that time, especially since it was also rainy season and there were water puddles everywhere, and sarin in liquid form was clear and odorless like water.
Choo Choo or Chew Chew 😂😂😂
ROFL chew chew
chu chu, baby!
Choo choo lol
hehehe
what kind of work do you do besides the videos?
I teaching adults English 1-on-1 full time. I've been working from home since March 2020 but before that, I was working at an office location in Ikebukuro.
Could you please to tell how long time life in Japan. ?
@Cory May Choo Choo.😂
hehehe thanks for surviving to that point in the video!
I'd get lost Cory lol
hahaha It can be overwhelming, but this commute is so frequent for me that I can do it blindfolded. Maybe in other stations around Tokyo, I'd get lost. hehe
