This channel deserves so much more attention and subs. Informative in an attention grabbing way. I watched one video that was recommended on my homepage and have binge watched since. Clint gives pros and cons from all sides for owning any reptile as well as information that may not pertain to owning the reptile but just information that is just as pertinent in describing that particular animal and I appreciate the thorough research, knowledge and the will to pass it on to those of us eager to learn! I look forward to what’s to come!

Gary Thompson I totally agree. I am a huge animal lover of almost 6 decades! Yep THAT old;) I raise rare poultry and have adored an enormous variety of animals, rare and common in my life. I think the key to truly loving animals is accepting who they are. Kind of like people:) Let’s face it, trying to change a person will be lousy for you and trying to change animals is SOO bad. We see people trying to do that with dog breeds many times, don’t we:) Well thought out comment on your part! Love Clint’s fans

I have some very old reptile books that have a lot of info on Sara’s as pets but little on cresteds as back then they were new to the hobby. It’s crazy how back then, Sara’s were the cresties! For a while they were extremely rare and hard to find in the hobby because everyone shifted focus to the easier and more exciting crested gecko. So happy to see them making a come back ☺️

A number of breeders have warned me *against* UVB for New Caledonia geckos. The powdered diet has all the D3 they need.
This is not first hand, but comes from experienced breeders, at least one who lost a Leachie to D3 toxicity and organ calcification (confirmed in necropsy.)
In the wild their diet would not contain suplemental D3 so they would need UV. The same would be true if they were fed on fresh fruit or baby food without extra dietary D3.

Underrated pets, I think of them how I think of green anoles which are also common yard lizards here - great pets but handling them much is asking for an escape, bite or dropped tail. But I think they make better pets than green anoles and really deserve the exposure.

I hope we see more New Caledonian species! They get pretty obscure past this point, but there are more out there~

New Caledonian geckos would be perfect for me, lol. I can't tolerate extremes in temperatures either and due to autoimmune diseases I need gentle touch too. See? Perfect!

I’ve held one of these at the reptarium in Michigan and they are fun to hold it was speedy but not to speedy that it would escape. Mabye my favorite gecko besides leachie.

The binge watching continues.. This ghecko is a jumper.. I think he personally likes to jump and I laugh everytime. I love your videos Clint! I am learning and laughing and when you are enjoying the learning it makes it memorable! Siri (pronounced Sir and E) so Siri Sara. 🙌

I recently got one of these as a hatchling and they. are. awesome!!! I absolutely love this species, I already want more 😆 very similar to owning a crested, basically the same care, though I have heard they can handle slightly warmer temps I still just keep mine at room temperature

Update some months later! I forgot I commented here originally. My sara is growing up to be such a beautiful gal! I am uploading videos of her on my youtube channel because there still is not very much content on them here. I don't care about views or subscribers, I just want to provide more footage of them for people to see on youtube :) I eventually would like to get another sara to breed in a couple years

I have 2 Golden Geckos, they're just like Crested Geckos, except they're from Vietnam and they're wild caught, but very friendly, although fragile, but they do make great starter geckos.
