This channel deserves so much more attention and subs. Informative in an attention grabbing way. I watched one video that was recommended on my homepage and have binge watched since. Clint gives pros and cons from all sides for owning any reptile as well as information that may not pertain to owning the reptile but just information that is just as pertinent in describing that particular animal and I appreciate the thorough research, knowledge and the will to pass it on to those of us eager to learn! I look forward to what’s to come!
I give your videos a 5 out of 5. I think all your videos are great. Even the animals you give a really low score you still respect the animal for what it is. I admire what you do and I think your a great asset to the hobby. Keep doing what you do.
Gary Thompson I totally agree. I am a huge animal lover of almost 6 decades! Yep THAT old;) I raise rare poultry and have adored an enormous variety of animals, rare and common in my life. I think the key to truly loving animals is accepting who they are. Kind of like people:) Let’s face it, trying to change a person will be lousy for you and trying to change animals is SOO bad. We see people trying to do that with dog breeds many times, don’t we:) Well thought out comment on your part! Love Clint’s fans

A little under a year ago I got myself a Western Hognose snake (after watching many of your videos deciding what I wanted to be my first reptile). It has been such a great experience. Happy to say that little Will (Wilbur) just broke a pretty stressful hunger strike. Anyway, just saying thank you for introducing me to this hobby.
I have some very old reptile books that have a lot of info on Sara’s as pets but little on cresteds as back then they were new to the hobby. It’s crazy how back then, Sara’s were the cresties! For a while they were extremely rare and hard to find in the hobby because everyone shifted focus to the easier and more exciting crested gecko. So happy to see them making a come back ☺️
I just picked up my first Sara a couple weeks ago. I had never seen one before, and I instantly fell in love with it. I find mine to be a lot more friendlier than the rest of my creaties. I'm hoping for some hybrid babies.
Adorable, maybe, but is he the right pet biologist for you? To figure that out we have broken the Clintius Beardochangeis into our five categories.....
I've been thinking about getting a gecko and the new Caledonia ones have my attention, still going to do more research and planning before getting one. I want to be able to give the little thing a good life and not just a okay life
I love geckos. Its currently cold here in South Florida, a little gecko is in my house living on and around my internet router for the warmth of the fan. It's so adorable and cool to me. It's a small species, but the fact it found sanctuary near me is cool, I'll leave him be til it warms up outside.
I just looked into that genus a few weeks ago and thought about how there wasn't much to find about Sara's. Now you do a video about them, which I think is awesome. I really love seeing you talk about the reptiles and inform people about the many aspects of them. In fact, you are kind of the reason why I ended up choosing a Crestie over a day gecko. He moved in with me yesterday and I couldn't be happier
You remind me of some of my very favorite teachers and professors I've had. Very passionate and a little out there sometimes and absolutely wonderful to listen to.
Thank you. You are the only person on You Tube that enunciates properly. So tired of hearing impor-ant, etc. Your videos are always great on knowledge.
Another beauty from New Caledonia... I haven’t heard of this gecko before. Each time I discover a new favorite lizard, that’s always where they originated. Ha. I’d love to go see them all in the wild!
I just picked up a Sarasinorum this weekend at the Toronto Reptile Expo from Northern Gecko. They price in USD and ship if you are still looking. Your videos have been so helpful for me and my family. Please keep up the great work!!
Had one of these guys for a few years. Can jump, but being more heavy bodied that cresties, don't take the same type suicide leaps. Tolerate handling as well as a gecko would. All around a great pet gecko.
Awesome video, Chief is just a gorgeous gecko, and a species that I’ve never heard of, or if I had I forgot. Keep up the amazing work, you should be the official ambassador for reptile keepers, but it would be great if you could do some more amphibian videos. I don’t have any particular ones in mind, they’re just fab animals that I’d like to know more about.
I saw some at Tinley this month. Didn't buy one because that was the first I've seen, but now that I know, they're on my list. Thank you for this video and all the videos you put out!
Clint, the beards a good look on you. I'd like to see you go full mountain man and review the Hairy Frog (Trichobatrachus robustus) Fun fact: When cornered, will go as far as breaking its own bones to unleash a hidden ace up its sleeve. Puncturing right through its toes are sharp claws which the frogs use as a last line of defense.
I got recommended one of your videos a few months ago and i swear i think you might be the reason i pull the trigger on getting a gecko, not the Sara's in particular but maybe a Gargoyle or Crested gecko, maybe even a bearded dragon if i'm up for it
They may be my favorite new caledonian gecko. I have been interested int them for some time. But I'm just not a lizard person. I just love frogs and snakes so much. Especially large constricting snakes and leaf and tree frogs.
Toe pad tipped tail is the raddest thing I've heard of a lizard having. And the white v really accentuates the shape of the head. Edit: also, please do crocodile/aligatorngecko next please!
A number of breeders have warned me *against* UVB for New Caledonia geckos. The powdered diet has all the D3 they need. This is not first hand, but comes from experienced breeders, at least one who lost a Leachie to D3 toxicity and organ calcification (confirmed in necropsy.) In the wild their diet would not contain suplemental D3 so they would need UV. The same would be true if they were fed on fresh fruit or baby food without extra dietary D3.

Underground reptiles produced a hybrid with these and cresties. Extremely expensive. And Clint, was that a Land before time reference?
