    I've probably watched over 20 of your videos, you do such a great job of explaining in terms that younger generations could understand. I've told many other classmates about your videos and they find it super helpful! I find your 5-10min lectures to be more informative than my hour lecture in class! :) I also watched your ISIS video and it's nice to hear a balanced perspective on current events. Tons of articles are slanted and it can get confusing at times. Just wanted to say Thanks! :)

      A few bits of paper written 200 plus years ago. The idea that it applies to anyone is preposterous. But the elite need the slaves to believe it is so. It is the PR perpetuated to allow a handful of people the "legal right" to used instutionalised violence aka government to control their livestock.

    No, good question. The Continental Congress ran the government during the pre revolution 1774-1776 and the US under the articles 1776-1789. The convention is the meeting at the end of that era to write the new constitution.

    Point of contention with video.
    The "Bill of Rights" has nothing to do with the convention.
    Convention ended Sept 1787, the Constitution is sent out to the various states without any agreement stated or suggested regarding a "BoR". The first of the Federalist Papers is published Oct 1787 along with the first of the Anti Federalist.
    Anything relating to " BoR" is a post hoc compromise suggested after the convention and used as encouragement toward ratification without guarantee as to specifics.

  • @Chuichupachichi
    @Chuichupachichi 9 років тому

    This is good, considering that understanding of all things Constitutional is greatly needed in today's America
    However, there is a particular matter that if taught, it, in turn, reveals understanding of other Constitutional issues that are widely misunderstood
    The Statesmen that attended the Constitutional convention were about to quit halfway through, due to halted progress from difficulties, of which, they were failing to overcome
    Then, Franklin, recognizing the moment beckoned for one of his position, as the well respected wise elder among his peers. The original document housed at the Library of Congress records his statements;
    "gentlemen, while we were sensible to danger (during the war) we prayed every day, here in this very room, and our prayers were answered (Deists?) Shall we now believe that we are no longer in need of assistance from the divine. I have lived many years and..."
    It's quite obvious what occurred after that, due to the fact that we have the US Constitution. They began to pray every day again and they completed the convention. Once again, as during the war, their prayers were answered
    This is important for Americans to know & understand because it enables further understanding of the fact that destruction to our Constitution has been occurring, due to misinterpretation of extra-Constitutional documents, which have lead to misinterpretation of the Constitution
    It has come to pass, often times, that whenever the community within a particular school district and their children wished to, perhaps, say a prayer prior to academics within the classroom, there have been one or two atheist families that protested to the government and the rulings from the courts have been to prohibit the prayers
    The ironic thing is that the rulings have been supposedly based upon a US Constitution that wouldn't exist if it were not for the prayers from its framers
    That's one reason why I wrote "supposedly based"...the other is because it's actually been based upon an excerpt from a document (private letter to Danbury Baptists) that was suddenly (after 200 yrs.) attributed with the superceding legal authority that was previously possessed by only the Declaration of Independence & US Constitution

    Didn't the great Compromise also include that the state legislatures appoint the senators while the people directly elect their state's house representatives, a very important part that was later undone in the 17th amendment [one of the biggest mistakes added to the constitution next to the 16th]? And the 3/5 compromise also came about for another reason, the North had far more free people in the population than the South, granting them more say in everything from deciding the president [and by extension the nominees to the supreme court] all the way to what legislation gets passed in the house of representatives. The South wanted comparable say but the 3/5 compromise flipped the scales in the other direction, this compromise later on resulted in the Dread Scott decision, a ruling that went against birthright citizenship implied in article 2's prerequisites for running for the presidency.

    It was understood that if they played dumb and slowed there pace then it would just become the standard. I was told slaves often would beat up a fellow slave if he tried to set the bar to high for everyone else. This would happen from time to time in order to look good to the master so he would give you a house job, but that was a less than .1% chance if you were a male

    I wouldn't say the Articles of Confederation sucked. I look at them as something that should have stayed, considering the amassing centralized powers our federal government now has and the fewer rights we now have.
    They should have just been tweaked in away to make building and funding a military easier and perhaps something to deal with conflicts between states.
    The federalist (Federalist Papers), just like liberals today (mass media), were better at propaganda.
