I’m impressed, I have to say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a videos that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you might have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the problem is something that not enough individuals are talking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing regarding this.
awesome; I bought a soldering iron 3 yrs ago and never used it yet. Was going to buy the fuse it tool till I heard of you. Thanks so much for this video
I don't have a soldering iron but this gave me the idea to try using the end of my hot glue gun with no glue in it. Not 100% smooth but it did a pretty good job sealing the plastic. Thanks for the inspiration.
Wow. I would pay for thin floorboard planks of this, I could add so many amazing feature points to the things I build/make..... Going to give it a first try by making some picture frames, it shouldn't take too much plastic and if I use some convex timber quad in the mould I could get a nice shape, hmmmm. I feel another hyper focus hobby coming on.
you don't need to do anything like this just find a metal or glass surface put your bag on that that and just drag your soldering iron like a pen or a cutter and it will seal that bag 👍👍
Plastic sheets come in a variety of thicknesses. Where would someone find the plastic you used? The plastic looks about the same thickness as a sandwich bag.
I have an extra flat iron for hair straightening. You think 400°F will do the trick? =) I'm going to try this out and see if I can speed up the process a bit.
interesting technique.. I am wondering if it would work better if you used wax paper.. I have seen some other videos of people using wax paper because it does not stick to the plastic and it can withstand hot temps.
All mentioned by you metals are not meltable by soldering iron... from all metals you mentioned steel is the crapiest heat conductor so its most likely the best for this task(and it looks to me that he is using some steel element with some anty oxydation protection on it, looks like steel used in old good quality computer case).
Or just buy a tool made for the job if you don’t have hours and hours of spare time to seal plastics bags around stuff. They’re cheaper then you think.
Another UA-cam video with annoying music. Guys, enough already with the music. You're not a DJ, we're not here to listen to music. It's a HOW TO video, not a music video.

This video shows how to reuse and recycle trash in an economic and practical way! Plus, the music slaps.

clever use of the soldering iron. perfect for making "shaker" cards. thank you
Margaret Johnson sure Margaret, "shaker cards"
Does it work on acetate?
🎊🎉😊🎉🎊
what are shaker cards?
Still wondering what shaker cards are
Great method for making a sleeve cover for my Photo Albums. Many thanks. Have practiced and practiced so here goes!!
I use a soldering gun with a piece of #12 bare house wire for the tip and it works very well because of the smooth wire.
I like that! I will have to try it.
I don't have a soldering iron but this gave me the idea to try using the end of my hot glue gun with no glue in it. Not 100% smooth but it did a pretty good job sealing the plastic. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a great idea!!!
clever... I don't have a soldering iron but lots of glue guns!
No!
That's exactly what I was about to ask
Most excellent. A very neat method. Thanks for sharing.
A much more complicated way than we used to do it back in the day with just a bic lighter and a book or a couple pieces of a cereal box.
This is so relaxing
wow awesome hack. Money saver and great for those who spend over budget like me
awesome...thank you for sharing. i wonder if there is a wheel attachment to the solder iron! :D
There just might be a wheel somewhere...I worked for a place that made soldering irons, and we had a tiny flat iron shape for just this type of task.
Nice idea. I use kitchen electric sealer, but this plastic may be to thin for that

Have you tried using a clothes iron? Almost every household will have one. The seam would need to be made over an edge I think.
Awesome! I am definitely going to use that! Thank you.

So for gluing a tarp to another tarp is gonna take a lot of paper and an iron with adjustable settings
very clever. is there a fast way to do it? I mean for big production? 100 or 200 pieces per hour.
no need to over complicate it by using paper and tapes, you just need an iron ruler and a solder.
I was kinda wondering why he didn't just tape the paper to the under side of the ruler with some hanging over...
Can it also be used to "weld" PVC and LDPE together?
Use a candle flame and move the plastic slowly across it.
Thank you for this video. Can we use heat seal for EVA / PEVA plastic used in shower curtains ? Many thanks
Plastic sheets come in a variety of thicknesses. Where would someone find the plastic you used? The plastic looks about the same thickness as a sandwich bag.
I'm sure it would work with a wood burning etching tool. Too.
Awesome, this will be so useful !
Genius! Thanks for posting!
I have an extra flat iron for hair straightening. You think 400°F will do the trick? =) I'm going to try this out and see if I can speed up the process a bit.
So if you were making the bag smaller why not poke a small hole in what's getting cut off to let the air out first.
what plastic is that, polypropelene?
Hey is there a way to make straws into a mini shotgun model? Any size if that is something you need to know
Have you tried this on mylar sheets?
Is this safe to use the papers as guide? I just wonder the papers will get burnt
Love your last name polish ski the best
Use a flat iron to create a seal if you don’t have the proper equipment on hand.
I use a similar technique but instead of paper I use aluminum foil
What is the point of the paper and tape? Can't you just use the wood and metal sheet?
You will burn the plastic
What are these plastic bags? Where can you buy?
Would this work with thick vinyl?
I'd love to know too ... building a plastic cover for a small green house... time to experiment!!
interesting technique.. I am wondering if it would work better if you used wax paper.. I have seen some other videos of people using wax paper because it does not stick to the plastic and it can withstand hot temps.
Cellophane is your answer
Thank you!
just pinch plastic between two pieces of anything straight and flat and run a bic lighter flame along the edge.
Does this work on the aluminium foil bags? those used for wine?
Probably not paper bags like wine bags, it might burn it or just set it on fire
not bad! a sheet of paper can be replaced by a sheet of mica.
Better still use cellophane, it has a much higher melt point than polythene and released cleaner.
You packing air son
Use a piece of 'metal'. Great..what you got there...steel...aluminum...aluminum coated copper?
All mentioned by you metals are not meltable by soldering iron... from all metals you mentioned steel is the crapiest heat conductor so its most likely the best for this task(and it looks to me that he is using some steel element with some anty oxydation protection on it, looks like steel used in old good quality computer case).
very good trik
This method will work, just take too long :((((
I wouldn't use it for food. Who knows what gases are set free to soak the content when the plastic is heated up...
And now pretend that is a hash plate^^

or you could use resealable bags
Maaaaaaaaybe
Screw a washer for faster cutting. So slow
Good idea.
what is a guy even doing😌😎🙌
I think my seal-a-meal cost less than your soldering iron.
i don't it my $1 store sells them for $3.
I doubt it. And his method is far more versatile.
Zip-lock bags are cheap!
Put cayenne on your fingertips to stop biting.
Kirk McLoren you're hilarious

this is for drugs
Easier tip
BUY A BAG SEALER
Taking too mutch time.
