I was a Freshman in college. In 1984 I could have never dreamed that Arkansas would one day be in the SEC and that Texas Tech would be in something called the Big 12! The Southwest Conference was everything in those days and the Razorbacks were a power in the SWC! It was all I had ever known since the age of 4 and going to Arkansas games with my Dad! ❤
Sometimes I wonder why teams today don't put in a wishbone or veer triple option package. I realize either must be practiced religiously but it sure would be fun to watch again!
Air Force, Army and Navy still do it. It’s an offense that can help under talented teams win. One reason is it’s mostly post snap reads, not as many assignment plays to memorize. But it takes a lot of team mentality because there is a LOT of blocking involved. Just about everyone besides the QB has to block. Today’s athletes aren’t crazy about that. They want to know how many touches they’re going to get per game. But yea it would still work today because it can be quite difficult to defend.

Harding won division 2 with it. Rushed for over 6,000 yards for season. First time in the history of football.
