Thanks for this review video! Sometimes it's nice to just see it up close from a real person and not on the company website, so this was helpful

Good review Karen. All kettles whistles mechanisms will eventually fail due to minerals collecting and solidifying, warping due to high heat, or corrosion and deterioration. I was interested in the condition of your enamel paint inside the kettle, how it has held up, how often you need to clean it (the type of water you use at home-- hard water or soft water). Keep it up. Cheers

Hello Karen and Maya and ty for this review. I'm late to this conversation by a year but thought my input might be worthwhile. I purchased a cone shaped halo flame tea kettle in 2008 and was very pleased with the product. I used this baby for 15 years with zero issues until recently when it began to rust. I was shocked bc I take great care of my things especially if I'm deeply invested and Le Creuset is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. I don't mind spending a little extra on some products with iron clad backing of their product and good reputation bc I believe I'm worth the splurge on occasion bc I work damn hard. Drinking coffee and tea is a luxury past time for me and I deeply enjoy it. However, due to the recent very bad reviews I've read over the course of hours, I've decided against purchasing another Le Creuset. The one I had did not chip, flake or fall apart, it just began to rust out. Additionally, when I read that this company refuses to stand behind their product especially at a high price point like $115 dollars, I grew concerned when they resort to blaming customers for product malfunctions due to improper use. I am looking at the newest 2023 version of the kettle in Carribean low profile with silver lid knob and folding silver handle over at Amazon. It got very bad reviews. I'm stalled and undecided and resorted to using a cheap pan to boil water for my tea since I laid to rest my Le Creuset baby of nearly 20 years due to extensive rust. Never had a rust issue for all those years until August 2023. I'm old enough to remember when products lasted for generations and admittedly, I miss those days a great deal. Any feedback moving forward is greatly appreciated. TYIA.

Hello Mary and thank you so much for sharing your experience with the LC tea kettle, I know this will help a lot of people make an informed decision as to which tea kettle to purchase. Our Le Creuset tea kettle worked fine for about a year and first the whistle stopped working but that was fine because I generally know when the water is ready, but then it started Rusting on the inside which was odd because I always dried it out on the outside and inside especially. Inevitably, I decided to retire the LC tea kettle from everyday use and continue with the 1-3/4 LC saucepan instead (which has turned out to be so much better) because of its wider base and larger capacity. We use herbs from our garden to make different herbal teas so the saucepan works better in terms of being able to see the herbs breakdown and knowing exactly when it's ready. So for me I pivoted to the saucepan, it works so well I don't think I'll get another kettle. I'm not sure if that helps but thank you so much for your questions!

I don't have this tea kettle, because I also read some reviews that weren't very good. I'm happy that I didn't purchase it. Thanks for your honest review.

Helpful info here. The whistle issue seems ubiquitous among all brands. I have the OXO. It whistles but not an elaborate, sonorous type found on the Chantal

Hi, thanks for the review of this kettle. I'm thinking about getting one, but I'm seeing a few reviews that say it spouts water a lot when you pour it. I'm wondering if these reviewers are just filling it higher than the maximum fill level? Yours seems to pour nicely in your other video. I want mine for filling hot water bottles, and don't want to burn my hand!

Hi Nice2nettles, it is a really nice kettle, I think our only issues was that the whistle mechanism stopped working. Like you we made sure to fill it to the recommended level so it would not spill out. Overall I think it is a good buy especially if you can purchase it while it is on sale. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching!

I'd like to hear your thoughts about the Staub cast iron teapot. It's an unusual design, but I've been contemplating it because you can put the tea right into it, and the cleanup seems really easy. I know you guys make tea in your saucepan frequently, so I'm curious how you feel about it.

I would try dipping the whistler in vinegar for a couple of hours to see if it removes any possible classifications...

The kettle is beautiful however, the first one had a leak and was changed and second one after 6 months of Normal use, broke the layer inside the kettle and the company didn’t want to change ( and it’s still in the 2 year garantí ) so it’s something that I would not recommend to buy!
