- An animatic dedicated to Eret's experience in the L'Manberg war on the Dream SMP, from when they joined to when they decided to turn, and everything in between that led to that choice :) Featuring a frankly concerning amount of historical accuracy because I have watched an equally concerning number of vods from this time period and I want people to know this stuff as WELL, dammit

THIS IS LEGENDARY! The amount of effort it must have taken to do this, my goodness. The part where Eret's head is fully animated? Absolutely glorious. I also appreciate the historical accuracy lol, wonderful work
It's crazy how perfect this song is - hard to believe it wasn't written about the smp.

seeing L’Manburg so bright and happy broke my heart… also props to including some of the stuff before L’Manberg! this is so sick.
This is so sick!! I feel like Eret's character doesn't have enough animatics or fan content centered around her so this is absolutely amazing to see! Great job on the animation/art too, it looks so clean. The transition when c!Eret makes their deal with c!Dream the color transition is such a good portrayal of their character shift! Overall just awesome :D

This is absolutely stunning! Everything, from the phenomenal attention to detail and showcasing of smaller or less shows moments, down to the synchronization of the story beats to an amazingly chosen song, it all fits together into an incredible labor of love of this story. Absolutely astounding work
This is just so good. It includes so many details and the style is awesome! My favorite part was 2:10-2:30. You show Eret's motivation and how he was convinced without any added words, the animation of Eret saying that line is so smooth and beautiful. I screamed when the colors changed because I'm a sucker for that stuff, showing Eret's change. I could re-watch this a thousand times. I just absolutely love it

Dude! I never leave comments, but I felt obligated to make an account to come and tell you just how freakin’ AWESOME your animatic is. Your art style is so cute, and the animatic never felt slow or lingered on any frame for too long. Plus, the world needs more c!Eret-centric animatics, IMO. I like redemption arcs, I guess.
But besides that I wanted to say what a PHENOMENAL animatic this was in terms of composition. The song choice was on point, and the timing impeccable as so many have pointed out. And I know a lot of animatics have been done about the betrayal, but you took a unique perspective on it, making the focus about how we got to that point and making c!Eret feel sympathetic, reminding us the viewers of the legitimate good times. You actually took us to the before times, back when everyone was really truly friends and things felt hopeful, making the betrayal at the end feel more painful. The camaraderie and optimism is super obvious in the characters; they really feel like a ragtag group of friends fighting a spirited revolution in the hopes of a better future. It feels nostalgic and optimistic and high-spirited, everyone so naïve yet determined and hopeful at the same time.
And I especially loved the shots of Eret actually building the room and testing it out, it adds to the realism of the event-not just a sudden plot twist but a planned-out event. Seeing him crawling out of the tunnels he’d built, practice-wiring the button…it made it feel more real.
And your choice to end the animatic as the button was pressed was a very emotionally impactful one. We know what happens next. We’ve seen the bloodshed and the chaos after. It allows us to sit with it and know what’s going to happen, leaving it to the viewers’ memory and imagination. It’s a moment that has been watched and animated so many times, and it feels more painful, real, and horrifying just knowing but not seeing what happens next. It’s the end. It’s the end of the animatic and the end of the naïveté. That chapter is over. And by leaving out the After you put the focus on the Before, the camaraderie, what was lost, the knowledge beforehand of what was gonna happen. And you get a grasp on this character who had friends-real friends-and made a premeditated decision to betray them, to lead them to their deaths…you can feel the camaraderie all the way up to the final trip down the stairs.
Not to mention the jarring cut to the credits, just the empty throne room and silence…an astute choice for an end screen. It shows the aftermath, but not in terms of immediate consequences. Instead of gore or bloodshed, all you see is what Eret had done this for. And she got it. And the deed is done, and it can’t be taken back.
I was so impressed I looked back on some of your other animatics-you’ve shown quite the growth over time! And the attention to details in the art and moments depicted is clear. This animatic was made with love.

i really appreciate the full on analysis you’ve done here, it’s so cool to see you recognize some of the stuff i intentionally did (and some of the stuff that was more unintentional, haha). i love eret’s character and this animatic was a huge labor of love to show who they were, why they did what they did, and what went into the betrayal. i really hate to see their character reduced to just the traitor, so to see you noticing how much effort i put into showing how their arc and relationships are fleshed out and genuine makes me happier than i can describe :)
and actually! since you seem to enjoy picking apart this stuff, one little fun fact for you that i haven’t seen anyone point out in the comments yet: most of the lyric choices are very intentional as well. the “wolves at bay” line in particular goes from being wilbur talking about the enemy, to said enemy attacking, to lmanburg themselves as eret builds the final control room.
