Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
Rob Riggle served 23 years in the Marine Corps both active duty and reserves and retired as a Lt. Colonel.
@1 Hitter naw orange fedoras.
@1 Hitter no such thing as the orange fedoras, it was a joke.
Funny because his character in 12 strong was also a LT. Colonel
Errrrrrah!
Okay so how long was he deployed?
I'm glad they got him for that role. He's a good comedic actor, but to see a Marine take on the role of a Soldier in a film like this... he knows the lingo, the cadence, the pacing and the stance. He knows how Soldiers work, think and move. It's subtle, but I can always tell the difference between an actor filling a role and a Soldier/Marine working from experience. I'm really looking forward to seeing this now!
And he worked directly for the guy he's playing. He knows him very well. Great casting!
@@709mash I think the producers cast him on purpose because of his connection.
Colbert seemed to really enjoy that conversation.
Garett James he totally did, because as soon as the cameras were done, instead of leaving the stage right away like the other guests, Rob stayed and kept chatting to Stephen until he absolutely had to leave to carry on the show.
they both worked in the Daily Show for Jon Stewart..so yeah they are both stewart babies
Was it just me who genuinely expected Riggle to lean over and try to kiss Stephen at the very end there? lol
Colbert usually genuinely likes his guest, don't know how he does it really
Fun fact. Its actually from giraffes the technology of the g-suit comes from. They have a set of muscles in/up the neck thats there to help the heart pump blood to the head because the neck is so long.
poor giraffes they really do get the short end of the stick
Riggle is actually hilarious. Underrated comedian
MrStensnask really? Couldn’t tell on my own... thanks!
That's because you're an idiot :) thanks!
his CC standup is legend, lmao the football stadium bathroom bit.
MrStensnask You're a pos
Thanks!
legendary on the Roasts
That was actually an hilarious interview. Rob Riggle is a great story-teller.
Respect for “an” hilarious. Stephen would be proud
Nothing but respect for the marines and on that note nothing but respect for Riggle for clarifying who the first boots on the ground actually belong to
It always seems so relaxed when the people of the old Daily Show team meet up... Must have been a good place to work!
Yeah. Nice observation.
It’s also interesting that the Daily Show produced some of the most successful actors
well, when you treat your staff like well...humans....with respect...dignity....those staff members tend to move onto doing greater things than when they were with you. Hell even Stephen himself I'd argue moved onto doing something greater than being part of the daily show because he took over for one of the greatest late night hosts of the age and completely changed how late night talk shows work. Everyone that's worked on the daily show has gone on to do something amazing with their life and I commend and wish even better for each and every one of them.
If you want a prime example of the polar opposite just look at Fox news.....i don't see any of their staff members moving on to doing something BETTER given their track record thus far with scandals.
Magnus Nygaard - That explains the rapport they have then.
I loved my tenure there!
That fighter pilot story was great. Rob's a good man, serving in the armed forces like that
Robb is probably one of the most underrated comedic/drama actors on current market. This scene was awesome.
As a former Marine myself, I’ve never met one who was funny & wanted to be an actor like Riggle. EVER - & that’s in 34 years!
Karma Hoe
Listen up, douche: TONS of former Marines refer to themselves as FORMER Marines. You’re falling into the old trope/joke - got that? The only term I won’t take is “ex-Marine” - which to us means someone who got thrown out of the Corps. I.e., someone who screwed up badly enough to get busted & discharged under ‘for the good of the service’, ‘other than honorable’, ‘bad conduct discharge’ (Big Chicken Dinner), or - rarely - a ‘dishonorable discharge’, which is usually a felony-level offense such as murder or actual (more than 30 days gone) desertion.
I AM a FORMER active-duty Marine. I AM a USMC veteran (service connected.) I married a Marine. I birthed & raised a now-former Marine (also service connected.) My son’s father retired with 20 years. A friend retired with 30 YEARS. We lost 2 brothers-in-arms/friends in the Murrah Building bombing of 1995. We sat with their loved ones while waiting for the bodies to be found. We attended the military memorial service on Tinker AFB.
Wanna know my MOS? Wanna see my DD-214? Wanna talk to my son, who was born while I was on active-duty? Wanna see my V.A. ID w/ “service connected” under my picture?
Where did I go to boot camp, asshole? What’s the process to re-enlist? What does SBI stand for? What’s a hash mark? Proper flag etiquette? What’s the nickname we use for a force march? What’s the nickname for female Marines? Who’s the Corp’s mascot, what’s it’s name - and why? What elements are ALWAYS observed at Marine Corps Birthday Balls? What does “A School” mean? What unusual inoculation do we receive? What do we call a toilet & from where is the word derived? What’s the Marine Corps equivalent of Army Special Forces & Navy SEALS? What does the acronym “FAST” stand for? What are the levels of rifle marksmanship from the bottom up? What does the red stripe on our blues trousers signify?
You’re a massive part of the problem in this day & age, you dilated asshole. You think you know stuff you absolutely DON’T. Which means you obviously didn’t have the balls to be a Marine! So with all due respect (which is to say NONE), Hoe - go screw yourself.
I like you Sherry H.🤝
adam driver???
Canadian here; I'm not a fan of Riggle's comedy, but every fucking clip I watch of him makes me adore his character, his fucking authenticity. This man has done so much for veterans and persists in remaining humble. Class fucking act act; God bless you Rob Riggle.
So he’s playing his old boss and Chris hemsworth is playing him?
How cool is that? Freaking awesome something like that will probably never ever happen again in life
Love me some Riggle.
like kobayashi !!!
Yes! Thats my penises nickname!
Riggles personality actually reminds me of those pilots I worked with in the Marine Corps. Most were very intelligent but had an incredible sense of humor. But when it came to business they were always there and were absolutely professional.
So my dad was in the 160th SOAR during the whole 12 Strong thing, and a couple of years ago my parents moved in and his neighbor was his old buddy from the Army. turns out that both of them were featured in the movie, and my friend actually ended up playing my dad's neighbor.
7 g’s with no g suit is super impressive tbh
Rob Riggle has a Jimmy Stewart smile and I think that is a compliment, not to mention he is funny and seems like an awesome dude.
Definitely gonna watch Rob's new movie. Looks good.
It was a GREAT film! I just watched it on Amazon....2 years later....LoL
My face hurts from laughing so hard - Rob Riggle is a funny guy.
he's a funny guy
I could listen to him tell stories all day.
0:52
I freakin’ love that. Can’t spell it but I come back regularly to hear him do that sound!
Rob is very likable guy.
6:43
Happened October 2001, never been done in 21st century warfare. Impressive.
Polish forces attacked Germans panzer divisions during the blitzkrieg on horseback. Its been done before. But that was 20th century warfare.
@@SpiderPigggg that is also total BS by the way that never happened
MRJ2012 yeah just pull everything out of your arse
@@DeosPraetorian Incorrect. That has happened. Historical sources confirm.
Never been done in 10 months of the 21st century.
Stephen, as an aviation nut, hearing your 9g story was awesome.
And Rob also, love that guy.
Thanks for that!
Rob Riggle looks really good since leaving the daily show. That man has gotten in shape!
You know what, I was around him during that time, and he was surprisingly hot then as well. I think it was the goofy character he played that toned it down on the daily show.
What a class act. Such a charismatic guy!
Paul Peterson and Mr O’Hare tellin hilarious stories to each other 😂😂
I guess this means Rob Riggle’s gonna play his other old boss Jon Stewart very soon. LOL!
12 Strong wasn't the Marines. It was US Army Special Forces ODA 595.
My Dad was a pilot for the Canadian Navy. He flew sub killers off of Canada's only aircraft carrier, the Bonaventure. Bonnie, to her friends. When his time as a pilot was over he brought the G-suit and big helmet home for my brother and I to play with. We had it in the basement for years. It got REALLY hard for me to put on. Those suits have NO room for girl parts. No room at all.
Sandra Nelson imagine sqeazin the man parts...
Ugh!
Sandra the USN now has and has had female G-Suits for almost 15 years.
Someone let Fifty Shades of Grey people know
Bonnie lol you made me spit out my coffee laughing
I like how Rob mentioned women can be fighter pilots too.
I have rewatched this 5 or 6 times in the past few years, I just love every part of this
It's kind of amazing to see him switch gears from comedic story about G's to talking about the 2001 entry into Afghanistan. Nothing but respect!
Canada sent its first element of Canadian soldiers secretly in October 2001 from Joint Task Force 2 a elite special operations force of the Canadian Armed Forces, and the first contingents of regular Canadian troops arrived in Afghanistan in January-February 2002. Canada took on a larger role starting in 2006 after the Canadian troops were redeployed to Kandahar province.
That interview felt shorter than it actually was. I guess time does fly when you're having fun.
That was a great interview. Been thinking about watching that movie for a while. Watched that interview, I think, two times at least.
Now, I know I'll see it eventually.
If I die next week, tell them all I said Stephen Colbert was the greatest entertainer of my lifetime.
I lived between 1972 and this year. Look at the comment info to figure out which year it was that saw me go.
Love this guy.
I want him to cover the next election, so he can use the tagline 'This election just got Rigged.'
New Message nollpll
Is this still viable?
Well the election was rigged but he didn't cover it
@@patrickharvey158 🙄🙄🙄
Not only was Rob Riggle a marine he was an officer, a Lt.Col he in theory which is enough man power to form a coup.
Yes I paused this video to watch Rob pass out on Funny or Die.
Rob Riggle may not be my favorite comedian/actor but he seems like a genuinely good person. (And it's nice to occasionaly see one of those on TV nowadays. - - Oh no, I sound like an old fogy. how did it come to this?!)
He's really underrated but he really works that sarcastic asshole-type humor pretty well mostly because he's got the look for it. It's actually one of my favorite types of humor.
Rob is so awesome he’s amazing
Riggle did a great job to move to do movies , we've had some best movie scenes with him so far ! Great job
Rob Riggle is all aces. So glad he got the opportunity to have this role.
This man is from KC (Overland Park)
REPRESENT
along with Jason Sudeikis and Paul Rudd...we are very cool in the Midwest
Dad was a pilot in WWII and hearing two guys telling, "There I was at 20,000 feet," stories did my heart good. Thank you.
Rob Riggle makes me giggle. The only military boss I remember is SFC Bonner. 💘 SC
I love this guy. IN THE FACE!!!!....IN THE FACE!!!! The Hangover
Omg, I figured out the hook method before I knew what it was. Except I just do it for rollercoasters. 😂
His flight with the Blue Angels is really funny
Rob Riggle is one of my favorite comedic actors
Dude is funny
@@dantedt3931 yeah
@@CalifornianCuttlefish I didn’t know he was in the military. What an interesting transition.
His role on Hangover was hilarious. He’s a natural😂
Al Qaeda pay their invoices two days early? You have to admire those kind of business ethics.
Riggle is amazing. Love that dude
Rob Ruffle playing military roles is perfect
12 strong was a fantastic movie
History point: 12 Strong was critical as they discovered environmental conditions of events conducted; rocky mountains, signal pockets, valleys and crests, villages and the populations, etc. MANY arena adjustments were made to tolerate the terrain. It's like a mindset of jungle warfare of Vietnam of everything being green, humidity on weapons, etc.
Rob Riggle is alright. Likeable guy.
I also know the person you played. I know most of those guys. I wish you could have showed how funny these guys are. Mike Pena's character is the most naturally charismatic and funny man I ever worked with/for...
I see Rob riggle I click
THAT CHRIS HEMSWORTH JOKE AT 8:14 WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS! the audience did not give it justice
ive never seen such a nice guy playing asshole roles so damn good
Rob is such a respectful guy he’s so funny
Ya can’t help but love the bloke.
He's like a real-life Stan Smith from American Dad XD
"Used to be a Marine"...hey i'm a Canadian and I know that's a no no. Once a marine always a marine.
Mariel Davison if you served, you can phrase it however you like.
Mariel Davison yea, I get the sense that lots of marines aren’t to particular about correcting people on that point when they’re talking about something else.
Marines can joke like that about their service.
Not every Marine is a mindless pair of boots
It's not Marines, it's army ODA for 12 strong.
Rob said that it was an Army mission.
He corrected him right away and said it was a Army mission.
Thank you
Rob was a marine though. He was attached to special forces. MARSOC I don't think was around then, so it makes sense for the Marines and army coming together on those operations.
It was 100% an ODA mission though. That type of operation is right up their alley.
Thank you
Cool interview
One of us. Semper Fidelis sir.
Rob Riggle is a genius
I remember that episode when colbert went in that plane. Didn't realize it was really as bad as he explains.
12 Strong was not about marines.... Army Special Forces. 5th Group out of Ft Campbell
Rob Wriggle immediately corrected Steven when he said that.
The Riggle’s real C.O. said “Hey kid...I sound nothing like that.”
Funny choice of guest for THIS show, considering that Mr. Riggle is a freedom-loving American and a retired Marine Lt Col.
now I understand why I laugh so hard at everything he says 😂
He hit the YUT and I had hook to keep the blood out of my little Marine
I can't take Rob seriously 😂
He looks tough but I also see him funny
Lol when he tells about the flying with blue angels 😂😂😂
was great film, for those interested in hearing more about Rob's experience check out his interview at the American Veterans Center youtube channel, search American Veterans Center Rob Riggle
NOT UP IN HERE
Rob Riggle is the fucking man.
The Blue Angels do not wear G-suits. They are reserved for the storm chickens from the Air Force.
thefridgeman airforce just has the funding to afford them
They don’t wear G-suits because they rest their wrists on their legs for stability while flying. If the suit inflated while flying inches from the jet next it would make a dangerous maneuver even more dangerous. I saw it on a documentary and that was right out of a blue angels’ mouth.
I reckon American Navy pilot is the coolest job in the world, you get to fly in the most expensive equipment imaginable. It's also a possible way to getting into astronaughting because they require thousands of hours in jet aircraft.
Nah best job gotta Flying wiv THE RED ARROWS BEST IN THE WORLD
Predetor Yale laugh
I love this man! Maaaaaan ❤️
5:34 "and the young pilots just zippity doodda jumping to the ground, and i just yeaah...."
I feel you Mr R, most of the young pilots see us in the 30s up as "old farts", and I just begrudgingly say "wait untill you'll get in my age, grasshopper >;("
Rob Riggle's blue angels clip... dont know why but this guy makes me happy!
ua-cam.com/video/u8zhQpU2mtQ/v-deo.html
OMG that Top Gun 2 vid was hilarious. 🤣 Great interview. Love that guy. Glad he this route.
Forget about the interview, MOAR fighter pilot stories!
Watched this fucking movie not to long ago. And he was only in it for a couple scenes but his performance was the most memorable
Charming dude, kinda surprising really
Stephen fixes tie. I exhale and yell out “thank you!” On the train and scare the old lady sitting next to me
Took a minute for me to realize he WAS in Hangover.
"IN THE FACE!!"
Great movie Rob 12 strong and thank you for your service
It was about the 5th SFG guys going in.
I don’t blame him... if I had the chance to cast ANYONE to play me in a movie I would choose Chris Hemsworth too. And I’m Asian. Lmao
Brian Ng 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Respect from England rob
Yeah the Blue Angels don't use gsuits
Are you saying pow?
POW!
POW POW!!
I love Rob Riggle; he just seems to always be having fun. Just to throw Hemsworth I would have gone Point Break instead of Thor. Too bad I wasn’t there to see everyone on the production staff roll their eyes, thinking “boy, we haven’t heard that one 5 times every day on set mister Douchie McGee.”
p.s.: Ways a standup comic and a fighter pilot are comparable: both have a real danger of crashing and burning. *badoom boom ding!* /corny joke
"it was a lovely dream.." ...Did you pop? **awkward silence ensues**
So glad Stephen fixed his tie -- it was driving me crazy.
