He gave up his wings in the Marine Corps to peruse acting/comedy. As much as I'd like to say that's insane, he did what he's truly passionate about and took the risk of making it big. And he's frigin hilarious lol.
+spitfire4sergi He never made pilot. I saw him in an interview on Conan. He said was disqualified from being a fighterpilot because he was too tall and if he ever had to eject with the way his legs would be positioned they would be ripped off. He still made a pretty high rank in the Marines though if I remember correctly.

Back in 1980 while stationed at the NARF, MCAS Cherry Point, N.C. I got the chance to ride in the back seat of a F4/J Phantom. It was fun and terrible. I didn't pass out or throw up but I came close. Major McComb was the pilot and I was a plane captain (mechanic) at the Flight Check (Camel Base).

Woohoo! the Blue Angels. I live in Pensacola about 5 mins from the base and they practice at least 3 times a week. So luckily I get to see a show pretty much whenever they practice.

As a Marine vet and a Kansas City native myself, this guy is just tits! He's funny as hell, getting pretty big (y'all should check him out on shark week!), plus he is a Marine and loves this country! Him and other KC natives like Paul Rudd, Jason Sudekis, David Koechner, and Eric Stonestreet host this Big Slick Celebrity Softball game before a Royals game every year, accompanied with a Bowling tournament and an after party here in KC every year! TONS of celebrities come every year and they've raised something like $10M for local charities since starting it all. It's amazing what he's done with his platform for this city! Much respect to Rob. Plus he's just one funny mf'er!

My son & I are both USMC veterans. Glad we didn’t meet Rob in the Corps, he probably wasn’t quite so charming to enlisted pukes like us! And looky there - I felt weird just then referring to him as “Rob.” Amazing how that stuff sticks with you no matter how many years have gone by.

Rob Riggle is actually a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Marines. He's a former helicopter pilot who's flown many combat missions. He only retired approximately two years ago as a reservist. He actually wanted to be a fighter pilot when he started his military career.
