  • We cut a GIANT friggin' hole in our Skoolie. The entry door was moved from the front to the middle of the bus. We wanted to accommodate a passenger seat. We have a unique floor plan that will unfold in the upcoming videos.

Great job. You're making it look easy. I've done numerous doors/steps out of wood. Wouldn't be able to do it with steel without losing sleep from all the frustration.
Wish I could hear you over those insects buzzing. Protect your hearing so you don't end up like me. 👍🏻

Thanks for the feedback. A lot of the ambient noise was us boosting audio levels. We had a recording issue. We fixed it for other videos.
The door took a little planning. We’ve been doing custom carpentry and metal fabrication for quite a few years. The bus definitely a unique experience.
I try to remind myself to use safety equipment but...like you, my hearing has paid the price. You’re right, I gotta protect what’s left.
Again, we appreciate the positive feedback.

Goodness, you gotta big, big bus lol. As you can see from my icon, you might be able to tell I have a short, short bus with a living space of about 10.5x7ft. It looks like you are going all out, windows out, framing, door replacing. It will be fun to watch your progress, I am not done yet myself.

Thanks for the comment. I checked out your channel and subscribed. You’ve got some cool stuff posted.
The bus is going to be our home, so we went large. Size can definitely be inconvenient, we learned this from living in a 38’ toy hauler 5th wheel. But it’s what we need. We hope to do a 27’ after this project.
We are definitely using this bus to challenge our design and build skills. The bus isn’t only our home, it’s a chance to build something for ourselves, instead of customers. We own a custom carpentry and metal fab business.

G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 I just happened to stumble across you channel and I think it’s going to be a good lesson on how to go about turning a school bus into a home. It’s fascinating to watch and it’s great how you list the cost. I have subscribed and look forward to following the build. Great idea to put the door in the middle far easier to get building materials in. Regards John PS is there any chance in getting rid of those protections strips along the side in my humble opinion they look ugly.
