We’ve done it for the past three years with no issues. It’s a pretty hard packed road if you stay on the main path. I don’t know why Brendan took a different way out than the one we always take 🤷🏼♀️
Little tip. First thing you should do if you start sinking is stop moving immediately to avoid digging deeper, release the air from your tires to about 10psi, put any type of traction boards or wood under the tires, and try again
What we do when we’re in a jam is we stop, make a cup of tea and ask ourselves what’s best? Then we act. Don’t lose control of the scene if you can. Do it slowly whatever you do and don’t make things worse. I’ve made all these mistakes but we’re still on the road in our Promaster. Cheers from Ecuador.

I would never do that in Mexico knowing the dangers there. Last time I went tk Sonora, MX was 2011 & hear its getting worse all over the country. Thank God you're guys are safe 🙏
You need to purchase a 30’ long kinetic rope. It works like a rubber band. Any name brand strap will do the trick. Watch videos like Matt Off Road and Recovery to learn how to use them. He actually sells them on his website. Don’t purchase a strap made in China. They are half the cost but cheaply made.
If you can ditch the tow hooks on your little tow rope. In the event of a failure they tend to become potentially lethal projectiles. If you have them tire chains will also work in mud and sand to give you a boost in traction.
