They deserve to be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
I saw the B52's with the Talking Heads, in Austin, Texas, at the Armadillo World Headquarters, in 1978. A great, famous venue, but really, it was just an old brick National Guard armory, the same as you see in many towns, all over the US. Just a drill shed, with metal folding chairs for seating, bars and snack vendors along the side walls, and a low stage at the back. Right away, the crowd folded up all the chairs, placed them in their carts, and danced the rest of the night away. Unforgettable. One of the best shows I ever saw, up there with Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton.
Lucky...
What a beautiful memory! I'm from Austin and I was too young when the Armadillo was going but I've heard the stories all my life it was a magical place!
I moved to Austin to join a band ONE DAY after the Armadillo closed. Missed it. But.....I enjoyed the heyday of The Back Room. My band was a major part of that heyday too.. and Steam Boat was also fun.
Kate looks great!! Love Shack is needed when I feel down
Great interview with a real musical icon. Thank you
I have always loved the sound and music of this band.
They were always the band that made me happy at my lowest.
Wow, she is still so attractive and full of vibe. I play s few instruments i was a teen in the 90s I love these guys.
Her voice is so amazing. Never heard anyone like her. So powerful
You guys are awesome. Thank you for everything. And every point in your career. You are lovely.
Cosmic Thing is one of the most perfect albums I can think of.
Topaz
This is such a solid album.... and Love Shack was such a great music video!
Such a beauty 😍
Can someone explain the point of having distracting background music during an interview
I don’t think there is a point. It’s just wrong.
She's great with Iggy on Candy!
I met Kate at the Hot Club in Philly, I think in 1980? This was during the Rock Lobster, Private Idaho, Planet Claire era. Like my friend Pierre, I had REALLY long hair. That night, at the Hot Club, I made a decision to shorten my hair in order to help make me more palatable to program directors in Philly radio. Kate was very nice, and yes...hot...and I felt a little better about my decision.
GREAT SONG...ALSO I PLAY ROAM THE WORLD WITH METAL ROCK GUITAR
I fell in love with Kate Pierson after watching the Shiny Happy People video she did with REM. But that was before I knew she preferred tacos instead of sausages. I still love her musical work though.
hello mate love shack got number one in Australia no.1
@Williamadlam1 Drummer on the track, Charley Drayton joined Divinyls and married Chrissy Amphlett. Later joined Cold Chisel.
❤❤❤ NYC, earthday, central park❤❤❤
The 80s were the best...
I love Deadbeat Club and many other B52's songs
❤❤
The background music is so annoying.
And she just didn't say "jam" enough. It would've been better if she'd said it a few dozen MORE times!
@@Estes705🎉🎉🎉hot jam
Background music. Turn it off when people are talking.
Strange group but very cool.😊
What is the backgound music, I love it?
hello mate sorry about ricky
Contacts AND glasses?
Those white circles reflecting off her glasses are the lighting ... it's not contacts.
