Rediscovering the femmes for the first time since the 90s. I forgot how much i freaking love this band. No one ever spoke that much for me. This was alternative rock before alternative rock.
Grew up in the 80s never once saw a VF video or heard them til early 90s. I find that crazy. MTV showed every video ever but never saw them ONCE . They were my first concert in 1993 and Gordon winked at me as I cheered from the crowd at Metropol in Pittsburgh, PA RIP
have always loved this song and really almost all of their first album. I realize though I've had the words wrong my whole life! Always thought it was "like A blister in the sun" and then was sure it was "let me go WILD, like A blister in the sun". So, live and learn, I suppose! Great song any way you lance it ....er cut it....
In a rolling stone interview video, 5 years ago, he says it was "big hands" because it was intended to be sung by a woman. Just watched it. Maybe he just makes up a different story every time he's asked.
Most artists are completely dishonest in what the meaning of their song is about. At 10:30 Gordon even gives the same ol' explanation they all do " Your interpretation is the most important" (always worded similar) It's a legal liability, If an artist ever explains the true meaning of the song, and it has any relation to anyone, it quickly becomes a liability for expensive litigation.
This podcaster/host guy has a Seth McFarlane-like quality that is very appealing. Gordon's awesome too, of course. I've always been fascinated and curious about them, before the internet, so this is my first time looking into the history and stories.
why would you not put the whole interview here wtf. what a waste of our time man. Either give us the whole thing or point us to the whole thing in the first minute. Great interview, or what i got to see of it anyways
I’m interested in the whole album. Certainly all their songs have stories.

I don’t know if you don’t know, but Gordon Gano’s still alive.
@jimmybonez8928 I believe the RIP is in regards to Metropol closing in 2002.
@@sam3211 oh, ok. Fair enough. I must’ve misinterpreted. Thx 4 the heads up.
Definitely not only interesting to you, Gordon! I always heard it as “I.” Great interview! Thanks Consequence!

Better than "Lemme go _run_ like a blister in the sun". Yech. 🤪

Interesting!
Aren't they from Milwaukee?
