I always chuckle when I hear 55 is “pretty chilly” for Winter haha! I personally love the cooler weather and don’t enjoy climbing into a 130 degree sun baked car in the middle of summer.
We just returned from a trip to Charleston. We stayed in very same site as you guys and it now has new gravel. We also ate at the Boathouse (same meal as Chad except for pimento cheese grits) and thought it was fabulous. Next time you should go to Page's Okra Grill in Mount Pleasant for Brunch. The Eggs Benedict is great and so is TJ's Hot Mess. Hope you guys had a great time - we sure did!
It’s hard to beat Mt Pleasant. We’d drive down there all the time when we lived in MB. We walked the length of the Ravanel Bridge & back more than once. Check out Poe’s on Sullivan’s Island. The Ft Sumter tour is awesome. If you have time, go up to Georgetown SC & stroll the downtown.
Gooood video guys!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Glad you captured the history moment for a few minutes by the park ranger!!! Right choice going to Charleston in the winter, bcuz its hotter than a 5 alarm fire in the summer!!!!!! 👍😃🍻
We were there while you were there, we were in the Dynamax Class C behind you. We saw our rig in your videos. We have visited Charleston many times and I was stationed there during one of my tours in the Navy. Sorry we missed you.
I grew up in SC and have spent a lot of time in Charleston and surrounding areas. I live in New England now and we travel to Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Savannah..etc often. A good visit in Charleston, especially for a Navy guy and if you've not already, is the CSS Hunley and museum in N. Charleston. A terrific piece of history.
Please look at Pages Okra Grill it is Great for supper. We also love James Island County Park. It is our go to place to stay in Charleston. We live in Lexington SC so we go there a lot.
We love the SC low country! And touring forts like Sumpter is like touring castles in Europe...if you've seen one, you've seen them all. We love Shem Creek and yes, they have some awesome bars and outdoor dining. And great idea w/ the projector for the bedroom TV! Happy belated Birthday Chad and thanks for sharing...
Happy birthday to Chad whenever it actually was! Sorry the breakfast was not spectacular. OOh, pretty sunset. My son and his wife to Sullivan Island for their anniversary. They enjoyed the ebiking there.
Happy birthday 🎉 Charlston was a stop on our honeymoon (many, many and many moons ago). It's definitely time to go back. Daisy has stolen my heart. What breed is she? She is the perfect size.
Loved your video. Growing up in South Carolina, sounds like we frequent many of the same spots. We love camping in the mountains of North Carolina and the coast of South Carolina. We'll pull up to the beach beside Fort Sumpter in our boat during the summer. I enjoy saving a dollar when I can, so I try and find a spot at Buck Hall Recreation Area. A few of my favorite restaurants are, The Wreck of Richard and Charlene and Bowens Island . Although these places are spread out, when you are near one give them a try.
A lot of rules to cross that bridge. It was a nice view though not very peaceful 😂. The chefs trio looked pretty amazing! The Fort Sumter was really cool. Thanks for sharing! - Mike and Shelley
We visited Charleston a couple of years ago. Fantastic dinner at Hudson's (they get their goods from the local day boats), then of course Ft. Sumter on another day. IIRC, we had a Ranger guided tour and were certainly on the rock longer than an hour.... Very interesting history and participation in our nation's history. We'll get back some day. Oh, HBD to Chad..!
One of your best videos! Love that you guys are real, not a couple of brand marketing mavens. Living in GA, I love what you show us in the south. keep it up!
We liked Ft Pulaski near Savannah better than Sumter, got to see a pretty cool reenactment and cannon fire. USS Laffey is a Bath Built ship, the sub is gone now that was there as well.
Bowens Island Restaurant Someone in our campground told us to go there we won’t be disappointed and we weren’t. It’s off the beaten path but it is so good. The road that you take to get there seems like a road you shouldn’t go down but you should it’s ok 😀
Happy Birthday.. that was a beautiful sunset... now the bridge I would have walked the whole way because I would want to prove to myself I could do it. Thats just my competitive side coming iut.
Hey guys!!! I just watched this and that’s us in the very beginning in the Mesa Ridge! It was a an amazing site and the views were amazing. Sunsets were spectacular. It would probably be hot in the middle of summer though. Crazy we were there at the same time. Hope y’all have a great day!
P.S. : The new RV park in Cartersville , GA off I-75 along the Etowah river is coming along very slowly. Going to be very nice when open, very easy access from I-75. Think the exit number 288. Looks like 50 spots plus, kids play area. Probably 20 spots that back up to the river. Be surprised if open by late summer. Keep you updated. LOVE you channel !!!!!! P.S. Cartersville , Ga is 1 hour north of Atlanta , GA.
Happy birthday, Chad. Nice video, nice place to celebrate your birthday. Beautiful area, lots to see in that area. God bless ya'll and stay safe out there on your travels.
Glad to see you back into the parking spot. Could not get it thru my brides head why pickup trucks back into parking places. She always got mad when a truck in front of us would do that, stating now we have to wait on him or her to back into a spot. One day when there was no traffic in the grocery store parking lot and I could back up to an island or a curb. I had here get out after I pulled into the spot. See how much the truck sticks out into the lane of travel. Then I backed into the spot, now see how much less my truck sticks out into the lane of travel. It is a courtesy to other drivers to not have to drive around vehicles sticking out into the lane of travel. She finally got it when she saw it. We are just trying to be nice for other vehicle traffic. Look at it this way. Everything from the back tires to the tailgate, we are keeping that much out of the road. Probably get a lot of bad comments about this, but just trying to help.
After a medical diagnosis in September of last year, I ended up with a lot of extra time on my hands pretty much "confined" to my room and office area. So, introduce UA-cam! I came across your channel in November. Since that time, I have watched all of your travel videos, and most all of the the others as well. It is pretty cool because you both had great personalities, and are fun to follow, and put together great videos. But now, I am all caught up. I will keep my subscription, but I have to find more to view to keep me occupied. Before I go, any chance the three of you are heading to Michigan anytime soon. There are a lot of beautiful places there to see. They have waterfalls, windmills, the Soo Locks, Mackinaw Bridge, City, and Island. And so much more, with pleny of campgrounds throughout the state. Have a great day, and give Daisy an extra little chunk of cheese for me. :)
Great video. Loved the ship. The fort was incredible. I thought you were supposed to have sexy thumbnails to attract views. You could have Chad flexing LOL. I was in Charleston once and stayed on Seabrook island. Didn't get to be a tourist as we were playing in a tennis tournament. So funny to see the little deer down there being from the north ours are much bigger to survive. Love seeing Dolphins. We saw a dog jump in the water to chase some Dolphins. The dog didn't get close and we thought he would drown but thankfully he made it back to shore. Dumb dog. Keep up the great work and thanks for your videos.
But of course Tara has a halo, she certainly doesn't deserve horns, well, at least not most of the time. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves. Keep the good stuff coming and give Daisy a treat for me.
I'm a little surprised with Toast. It's been a while since we've eaten there and things change. I've never been to the Boathouse so no opinion there. Fleet Landing is always good. You have to try their fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. The Variety Store is another waterfront downtown restaurant. It's on the Ashley River; Fleet Landing is on the Cooper. Both are excellent choices. If you're into BBQ, there are some award winners here too. Also I hope you didn't leave Charleston and not take in some of our breweries. I love my home town! Come back soon.

Awesome!
Happy Birthday 🎂 🎈 🎉
Happy Birthday to you Chad.🎂🎁🎈🎂🎁🎈
Couldn’t wait to watch your video of my hometown. Fun fact search for vehicle on the pedestrian bridge! Yes someone did it about a month ago!!
Found it! Holy cow! How did he even get there in a car???
@@ChangingLanes he followed some bicycles 🤦🏻♀️ as locals we never would’ve thought it would happen
Pages Okra Grill is a must place to eat and visit the Boone Plantation.
Funtimes! I remember going on the Yorktown an eon ago as a kid.
I lived in Charleston 30 years you have to go to Botnay bay. Angel oak Middleton plantation. Eat at California dreaming. Also Angel oak cafe.
Thanks for the tips! 👍🏼 We did see the Angel oak in our first trip there in 2018: ua-cam.com/video/jzFk-RoJF6o/v-deo.html
Got to agree with that. I approve!
I love that KOA. we stay there every time when we are visiting my family down there
Happy Belated Birthday Chad...
Eat at The Royal Tern, Johns Island, it’s amazing
I always chuckle when I hear 55 is “pretty chilly” for Winter haha! I personally love the cooler weather and don’t enjoy climbing into a 130 degree sun baked car in the middle of summer.
55 is summer to us in Canada We go swimming in that lol
Fun video thank you for sharing it.
One of our favorite places to eat when visiting our son and daughter in law in Somerville is The Icehouse. It's a historic place with amazing food!

Loads of history there, thank you for sharing.
We walk/run that bridge twice a week! Announce when you're in town and we'll send you to some great restaurants...
Looks like a great place for a run! 👍🏼
Spent the night on the Yorktown with my son….it was awesome. Even if you don’t spend the night, highly recommend visiting.
That would be cool! But, I got to spend many many nights on the USS Roosevelt.. The Navy kinda insisted I stay there. LOL
my favorite bridge! My grandkids call it Grammy K's bridge!
Should have had went to the Vicious Biscuit!!!! So good
One of the best salads I ever had was at the boathouse. Glad you enjoyed your meal.

If you put the Charleston chew in the freezer for awhile you can bust it up in the wrapper and then eat the pieces later.
You're the second person to say that... Gotta pick some up and try that!
Great video!
We were just there at the KOA last weekend! Hate we missed you
Great one. Love all the history
The BEST way to eat a Charleston Chew is to freeze it first. That’s how my father taught me and how I’ve taught my kids, it changes it so much!
I’m with Chad. Original Bennie is what’s for breakfast!

How do you like the traffic 😂😂 we lived there for 6 years before starting our Rv life. Don't miss the traffic or the roads!!
