We posted the recipe for soy yogurt a few weeks ago on the blog and some of you have been asking how to make the soy milk for the yogurt. So, here you go, we've filmed a video for both how to make soy milk and soy yogurt. Hope you'll enjoy making soy yogurt at home. 🙂💖 Btw, you can also use this method to make almond or cashew yogurt with homemade almond/cashew milk.
Hi can i ask your recommendation for the capsules are 25 billion live cultures does it have to be this much i used one for myself at 5 billion does this really matter?
This recipe worked VERY well! I used a store-bought soy milk (water, soybeans, sugar) and a child's probiotic 3 grams with lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. I started it around 11pm and checked on it at 8am and it was already very firm.
Yes, the okara has to bee cooked. For example after making your mayonaise, I take the leftover beans and steam them, wrapped in a cheesecloth. Then I mix them with oats, corn/pea/besan flour, soaked buckwheat, onions, carrots and beet. I mix this in a blender or meat grinder, form balls with an ice cream scoop, and bake for an hour at 180*C. If I don't cook the beans beforehand - the cutlets have a bitter taste.
little keyboard I'll pray for you in Jesus name , that your financial situation will take a 360 turn. I pray that food choices can be a choice your you and your family. Amen 🙏

This is the best vegan yoghurt recipe I've found. I really appreciate that you give detailed tips at every step & explain how we can use the leftovers. Thank you very much!
I have to try this! I like that many different foods can be made from the soybeans. This is the sort of techniques vegans needs to learn to keep our diet whole, fresh and frugal. Thank you for this video.
Interesting process. I love hearing you talk. Your voice is very soothing and you explain things really well. I've never made my own soymilk or yogurt but I'd like to try this. Thanks Teenuja! :)
Thank you for this recipe and video. I only recently turned vegan and am glad to know a more economical way to meet my nutritional needs. I had no idea it was so simple and affordable!
So glad this popped up on my recommended vids! This is MUCH easier than I imagined. LOVED that she didn't discard a thung and was still able to save enough for a starter to keep make it even easier for next time. Simple, wasteless, 2-ingredients, I really love all of it. Thank you for sharing❤
I just made yogurt from storebought soymilk and I'm super excited to try making the soy milk from scratch this time! The beans are soaking now 😀 thanks for the very informative video!
You are one of my favorites go to for vegan recipes. You give clear slow paced instructions, and you look and sound like a very lovely kind person. I enjoy your vblog very much. Thank you . 🙏🌹🥰
Storage and distribution: The packaged milk is stored in temperature-controlled environments to maintain its freshness. It is then distributed to retailers, supermarkets, or directly to consumers through various distribution channels.
I have made yoghurt with half/half soy and coconut milk. Gave a yoghurt that I could have sworn contained vanilla, even if it didn’t. I strained it, so it gave a thick, Greek style yoghurt. Next time I think I will make enough to strain even more also, to use as cheese. YUM! I would have done it again already, but since I’ve been sick and my local store started selling a very lovely coconut yoghurt, I have bought. But I should start making again, as it will be 100% pure yoghurt, the bought one has thickeners added, so it’s not as concentrated as the one I make. I use a lot of yoghurt, as I’m on steroids and it makes me want to eat non-stop. Veggie sticks & yoghurt dip has been my saviour now (last time I was on it, I gained a whooping 40 kg’s, this time NOTHING, as I can eat this pretty freely! I mix yoghurt with homemade BBQ sauce, made with 0 calory sweetener and molasses).
This video is so helpful and informative. I made a few batches already, and it's so delicious and filling. I don't have an oven, but used an instapot, and let it sit for 14 hours on the yogurt setting. I also strain it since I like it to be thicker and less volume. I strain it with a double cheesecloth on top of a fine mesh strainer for about an hour (or when I remember to put it in the jar).
You’re amazingly creative! Your recipes makes such a huge difference in our lives especially for those transitioning!!! We truly appreciate your efforts!!!
Hi veganlovlie, I tried making the soy milk 4 times, two attempts succeeded but the other two I ended up with water and soy particles separated from each other. Do you have any idea why it happened? Thank you in advance, I'm so thankful for your channel :)
Thanks so much for this! I’m on my fourth batch and your video has really helped. I bought soybeans from a new supplier and the milk is light yellow. Is this OK?
I never thought making soy yogurt could be so easy! Thank you so much I will surely try it as I have digestive issues that would benefit greatly from a probiotic yogurt.....and I could add fruit and some maple syrup for a sweeter treat :) Or freeze it in an ice cream maker for a cool treat!
Thank you so much for this recipe! Store bought yogurt is just so expensive, I had to find some other alternative. I love making the majority of our stuff homemade anyway so this was perfect. Thank you for creating this and allowing our family to continue the foods we love without the super high price tag and long ingredients list. My kids are still working on finding a good sweetener, they don't like the tang of it just plain, but hopefully we'll find some good tweaks that work for everyone :) And I highly recommend getting a nut milk bag! Tried the strainer and cheesecloth the first time and I have too many clumps of okara left over in the yogurt. On my 3rd batch and I'm hoping it dissipates with each consecutive batch but I may just have to start over. Unless you have any ideas how to strain the yogurt??
Hey Teenuja and Kevin! The thing i didn't get is:Does the soy milk NEED boiling before putting the starter in,or you just boiled it because you made your own soymilk from raw soybeans and it needed cooking to be edible? What about store bought soymilk?Do i still have to boil it before adding the starter? I would appreciate an answer, because as simple as it seems, this recipe seems to have a lot of tricks to be a success. And if i don't have enough heat,or an oven, should i just leave my yogurt to ferment for longer, maybe 1-2 days? Thank you and have a Happy New Year!
I make my soymilk in a Soyabella Maker and have a yogurt maker too (I live in the trailer so the oven is unreliable). Tried to make yogurt for the first time and it was too watery.. I'm interested to try this method out! Thank you for sharing 😁
Thankyou Teenuja for the above receipe. Followed it to the tee. Happy with the result. Finally could make vegan yogurt at home, what an achievement after trying many receipes. Cheers to you👍🙏🙏
Thank you for this very helpful video. I'd been trying to figure out how to make soy yogurt entirely from scratch. It seems straining out the okara and cooking the milk are both key. I had gotten so used to lengthy culture times with store-bought soy milk that I set my yogurt maker to 18 hours. When I got up the next morning, I had to stop it after 11 hours had gone by. 10 or less might be better. I had to put my tofu-consistency yogurt in a blender to make it creamy. But it's good! Beany, but good. It'll be perfect with fruit and maybe a dash of agave or maple syrup. You rock!
I have a Soyabella soya milk making machine which makes excellent soya milk. You put the soaked beans into a fine metal mesh container which is immersed in the jug which contains the water. The machine grinds and cooks the beans, and the Okara is separated in the mesh container. I do squeeze the Okara through a nut milk bag to get more liquid out of it. However, when I make yoghurt from this milk, it will not set. It tastes nice and sharp and fermentation has obviously taken place, but in the jar, it separates into a slightly thicker opaque white fluid floating on clear liquid. If I scoop this off the clear liquid, it’s still not thick enough, and all mixed together, it is forming a drinking yoghurt. How can I get it to thicken up into the consistency that you are getting?
I love this yogurt, but i have one question: When mixing soymilk with the starter in later batches, does it have to sit out at room temperature or can i put it right in the refrigerator and it will thicken? Thank you! ❤❤❤
Just a question of convenience/laziness etc. Can you prepare yoghurt from store bought milk? Also, do you even boil it then? Because it's not raw milk.
Great video! 👍 1. Can you pressure cook the soybeans first or does that mess everything up? 2. Also, can you pressure cook okara? 3. And can you do this with any other legumes?
Wonderful, commercially made yogurts have all sorts of thickeners and sugars in which is not good. Maybe a vanilla pod could be added when boiling the milk? Thank you
Hi, most of the other recipe I looked into need to put sugar as they said the culture needs to feed on the sugar? Or is it not necessary? Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.
What is the need of putting in electric oven. U ...?how to skip it's? How to use the malaye & residue usefully?plz, reply? Thank u for ur fine video expln.

What was it that you poured on top of the yoghurt? Was it maple syrup?
How much dried soy bean did you use?
Do you need to soak the cashew and almonds as well?

Excellent video. Thank you for being concise and to the point, with no waffling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤗🌹
Hi! Thank you for this! Can you cook the soybeans before blending it with water to avoid cooking it after straining?
Can you please explain

Can you start with cooked soybeans?
Great Yogurt!, In the future I will do it.
I have a question. For the second batch with the starter you've saved, do you add it to the soymilk before or after cooking it?
Is this the same probiotic we take as a supplement?
Hi, can you use store bought soy yoghurt as a starter?
Awesome! Do you think if i use some of the water where the soybeans soak can work as a starter?
i've tried to make Soy Yogurt but always comes out watery. . . will try this method . thanks
Wow!Thanks a lots and I will try to make it 😘
Thanks so much for the recipe 🙏🏽❤️💕🌷 .
Q: could I use the same method for homemade Almond / coconut milk?
This method will work for homemade almond or cashew milk. But coconut yogurt is a little different. I have a method for this that I will share in the near future. I'm working on this one. Stay tuned. 🙂💐
Can you blend the soy milk with some cashews for a creamier yogurt?
I will try this as looks sooooo easy. Tried others but failed. Thanks. Peace
Just what i was looking for! Thank you so much!
