Hi Peter - I have one of these with my 703 - yep it’s a little bit of effort to set up but works a treat. I have spoken with the UK importer and sorry to say but I believe we have got all we are going to get in terms of support for non Xiegu radios. One point of caution is don’t TX on the wrong band, that is remember to manually change band first else permanent damage can happen - several 705 users have found this according to forums and repair back up is limited Keep the excellent videos coming- cheers
@@TRXLab This will certainly depend on how many of these PA units Xiegu want to sell, compared with the difficulties they will encounter in supporting, even a limited range, of other QRP transceivers. In general, Chinese radio manufacturers (unlike Japanese) prefer to skip ahead to new products, rather than waste effort on improving old ones.
Hi, it might be worth to say, that there is an interface (CN-20) from Xiegu for Yaesu Ft-817 / FT-818. I've bought such but facing some trouble - failure notice displayed on the XPA125 display for some milliseconds. Luckily the XPA125 was not destroyed but I was not able to understand the issue up to now. With my X6100 everything still works fine.
I have one of these (and I'd recommend it - but it isn't cheap). I use it with my Hermes Lite 2 SDR radio. Initially I had the same 'problem' and found the same 'solution' as you- the manual isn't wrong but it certainly could be better written. M0XYM
Do not buy a Xiegu XPA125B! This amplifier was originally introduced with a good design using a pair of RD100HHF MOSFETS to easily handle 100W. After a few years they started selling units using the a single AFT05MP075N rated for 75W without any change to published specifications. You can push these amps to 75-80W but they are now really 50W nominal amplifier to achieve the same IMD rating. For a company to engage in these unethical design practices, I'd strongly recommend to never buy any Xiegu products! This is the same practice that Huawei tried when they started to gain some market share in the US with their phones and tablets.
This is pretty standard, no? I don't think I've ever had an auto ATU/PA combined that didn't work like this. My Expert amp is like this. As is the Elecraft KPA500 & KAT500 combo. As is the Z11pro2 (unless in fully automatic mode). 🤷♂️
Excellent video. I'm a new subscriber now.

I'm very curious if we get more support in the future. Basically, this PA is not bad, but we need to get it better adapted to different radios...

We need some more radio fix-it videos. Let me know if you encounter a kenwood TS-60. I have one with erratic power output. Tim W8RNG...73

I kept getting "high reverse power" flashing...even when i tried the recommended procedures...im not thoroughly convinced

No definitely no standard, but at present this PA does only work satisfying with a XIEGU radio , which is a bit sad.
@@TRXLab most other amps I have used do the same. 🤷♂️ I guess it all depends on experience.
Algorithm booster!
Great!
nice explained! 73 Jens
Any one of you cleverer-than-I types know what a "Low Efficiency" error might be?
