One more story to add to the fails of windows is what happened two days ago during the chess match between former chess champion Kramnik and young talent Jospen, when they were playing online and a windows update caused troubles and delays so they had to cancel two games.
To switch to Linux, people says you should choose a Linux distribution. Actually it is better to first choose the desktop environment (between Gnome, KDE plasma, Cinnamon, xfce, Mate, ElementaryOS) and take the best distribution for the desktop environment you like (some exception if you really know what you want). Example : if you like Gnome (the one of the default Ubuntu) it's better to take Fedora (works better than Ubuntu out of the box, for more hardware).
Wow Microsoft’s recent choices make me feel like they don’t know where they are going with the company. “John, take this paper stack of possible routes we can take and throw it down the stairs. The ideas that land highest will be the direction of this company!”
Good luck with that. They are ending support for it next year; which will make it increasingly more vulnerable to exploits over time. Your best bet is switching to Linux.

The other day I discovered that the win 11 file explorer turns completely unresponsive if you try to access a network drive that is disconnected. As for system issues, I had trouble with my work computer (win 10) when travelling once which turned out to be caused by Windows not unmounting external drives on poweroff, so depending on the exact version you have if you unplug a usb storage device (in my case and HDD) when the machine is off it will crash just after boot. The way to solve the issue is to plug the device back in prior to booting.
I've seen more bluescreens in the last decade (eight years, to be exact) than ever before! Windows 7 bluescreened on me a few times, but that was my fault for messing with the registry and other deep system features, Windows XP never bluescreened on me (I never daily drove it though, only used it for older games), but Wibdows 10, oh boy: - It bluescreened after OS updates (that you can't hold back, remember?) - It bluescreened when launching one of my favorite games by Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed Black Flag) for years - it bluescreened when plugging in any peripheral (tbf, that was a hardware problem - it bluescreened several times during the Rona years while online matches with friends in Age of Empires II Definite Edition, a game published by Microsoft themselves in 2021/22 - it bluescreened when launching any game for the last several months of me using Windows - it bluescreened randomly for several other reasons I never even found out. And in addition to the bluescreens, it also automatically restarted for updates while I was playing games and chatting with friends online several times, despite usage time and group policy guidelines etc all being set to prevent this (but Microshit in their infinite wisdom will ignore these settings if they think that you have been holding back on this broken update they still haven't fixed!), and updates wouldn't install (I literally couldn't update from version 1803 for a year and just recently got a Win10 VM stuck in a bootrepair loop after it's very first (and last) update), or they broke features several times, for example I couldn't print from my desktop computer for a year due to the printspooler service being broken after an update and Windows Update broke my Surface Pro 4's battery managenebt and typecover port, because Surface devices get firnware updates through Windows update, which is INSANE! You don't update firmware unless it's broken or there's a serious security concern, especially when the firmware cones from a manufacturer who doesn't beta-test jack shit anymore and is perfectly fine with leaving a broken FW update on their update servers for several years and never providing a fix because warranty is over! That's why you should NEVER buy a PC from Microsoft, they will f@ck lmup your device's firmware without a care and leave you with an expensive paperweight, because once the firmware is broken, you usually can't just roll back to an older version or ibstall an open source alternative that just works!
Oh, and I've also seen multiple BSODs on my company's computers, with both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, which are administrated by a big specialized service partner
Thanks for making IT news fun. Microsoft has no shame. I think the community needs to make some noise if they don't want companies to add such absurd features.

I don't even get why Microsoft is so enthusiastic about this feature. I mean PR aside, even if you look at it as a company insider, there's no added benefit of adding this feature for the company, it's a security nightmare, the only advantage it serves is for teaching AI how humans use computers. And all of this, just to give users a glorified computer history archive similar to search history.

Absolutely NO WAY. One machine is going to stay on Windows 10, offline. The other two (including my Daily Driver) will become Linux machines. The more I hear about Recall, and Microsoft in general, the more I'm convinced that I made the right decision.
Well done Microsoft, you finally made 90% of your corporate users implement Linux migration strategies.
As long as I don’t end up on Mars fighting in a mutant rebellion
How this feature will be utilized by corporations to help their employees to be focused!?
We need to stay focused brothers!
Or used by rivals for corporate espionage .
Dude I don't want to see your videos anymore but I can't stop watching them
The most outrageous security risk ever conceived. I can’t believe this was approved by Microsoft management.
Of course management approved it. Have you not yet realized how much the world's elite hate you? They literally want you dead, though they want to extract from you as much value as is possible while they kill you. You are (and I'm quoting their various, but actual, phrasing here) a "useless human/person/eater" to be placated with drugs and video games. Their statisticians will cry about declining birth rate while still discouraging reproduction. That's on purpose. Hollywood sucks because they want it to suck. Windows sucks because they want it to suck. And so on. Time to wake up.
Just one of many reasons why I don’t do windows!
One more story to add to the fails of windows is what happened two days ago during the chess match between former chess champion Kramnik and young talent Jospen, when they were playing online and a windows update caused troubles and delays so they had to cancel two games.
time to switch to linux
Or dualboot linux.
@@rumenjanro I dualboot with windows 11. But the last time I ran W11 was in August, I think. So maybe it's time to "recall" that disk space. :D
@@rumenjanrothis is not the answer, such a waste of disk space
me 6 years ago. one of the best decision ive ever made.
NSA, "Necessary" Superintelligence Acquisition
You could say its a Total Recall
Wow Microsoft’s recent choices make me feel like they don’t know where they are going with the company. “John, take this paper stack of possible routes we can take and throw it down the stairs. The ideas that land highest will be the direction of this company!”
hold on, have to reboot quick
Vincent Vega sure doesn't approve of that password.. it should be minimum 10 dots.
I'm staying out of Eleven as long as possible, driving Ten until I or my pc pass on.
Good luck with that. They are ending support for it next year; which will make it increasingly more vulnerable to exploits over time. Your best bet is switching to Linux.
@@allste626 Linux is on my to-do list 🙂
@@allste626 , yes so much that. My computer can't run 11 so it's either $1800 on a new laptop of running Linux (again).
running a unsupported OS that isn't getting security updates any more is a big no no.
They will software block every new piece of software that comes. Almost every new software I try to run on Windows 7 gives an "Kernell32 Create File2" error.
It has nothing to do with exploits, that's just a stupid excuse. Windows 7 Enterprise is still the safest OS out there. Why would Windows 11 have "less vulnerable exploits" when it is a literal bloatware full of backdoors? Anyone believing it is because of exploits should take all 8 doses of covid vaccines. Believe science.
That’s awesome invention I was working on…I was going to patent that!!! Funny coincidence Microsoft just secured a patent a week before I applied for 1!
Gold, thank you SAMTIME!
Step 1: no it's not automatically installed
Step 2: ok it's installed but it's not activated by default
Step 3: ok it's on by default but you can disable it
Step 4: you cant disable it but it's now encrypted (we are here)
seriously, I haven’t seen a blue screen or windows’ system components crash for maybe a decade now. what you guys are doing?
The other day I discovered that the win 11 file explorer turns completely unresponsive if you try to access a network drive that is disconnected.
As for system issues, I had trouble with my work computer (win 10) when travelling once which turned out to be caused by Windows not unmounting external drives on poweroff, so depending on the exact version you have if you unplug a usb storage device (in my case and HDD) when the machine is off it will crash just after boot. The way to solve the issue is to plug the device back in prior to booting.
Yeah, that joke was a little unfair.
I've seen more bluescreens in the last decade (eight years, to be exact) than ever before!
Windows 7 bluescreened on me a few times, but that was my fault for messing with the registry and other deep system features, Windows XP never bluescreened on me (I never daily drove it though, only used it for older games), but Wibdows 10, oh boy:
- It bluescreened after OS updates (that you can't hold back, remember?)
- It bluescreened when launching one of my favorite games by Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed Black Flag) for years
- it bluescreened when plugging in any peripheral (tbf, that was a hardware problem
- it bluescreened several times during the Rona years while online matches with friends in Age of Empires II Definite Edition, a game published by Microsoft themselves in 2021/22
- it bluescreened when launching any game for the last several months of me using Windows
- it bluescreened randomly for several other reasons I never even found out.
I was waiting, hoping, and praying, that you would use the fact it's called *RECALL...* for the entire video.
You did not disappoint.
*Everyone's Freaking Out About Microsoft Recall*
Me: *Opens Up Powershell And Disables It*
There, problem solved.
Thanks for making IT news fun. Microsoft has no shame. I think the community needs to make some noise if they don't want companies to add such absurd features.
My dream of having an artificial intelligence computer has been ruined
All i want is AI organizes my files, organizes my time, knows when I should take a break if i want , understands how to fix any problem in my device, and monitors any program that tries to penetrate the system.
But all we got is spyware
“….and hack when you get back!”….priceless
Waiting for sams Apple Intelligence video.. iAI.. Hilarious, this one writes itself
one of the best videos in awhile. Got a really good chuckle!
0:15 Sorry, but for this there's an old Windows legacy feature. The Activity Board.
Need to RECALL all Microsoft Executive that green light this project.
I'm watching you, always watching- roz
They should have called it Microsoft CoStalker
Definitely will be on a compilation of the Top 20 tech launch blunders in history.
First new feature that I noticed in a release notes that made me drop everything to find out how to disable it.
Recall is a terrible name… it gives the feeling something is broken… car recalls…
No, it's a great bame because nobody can Recall asking for this feature!
Total Recall
If even only one in five of the people who post "I'm moving to Linux" on these kimds of videos, the install base is going to triple!
Welcome, comrades!
So you can take a holyday and hack when you get back, should be a slogan to some shady internet service.
I tried eleven when my 10 pro key wouldn't work anymore. Hate it with a passion. But I do like the hdr toggle kb shortcut. Ws really hoping for a Direct Access game too but still not happened. Going back to 10 pro.
Total Recall 😎
That sounds re-f-u-k-c--e-d
Recall is a pretty fitting name for something they wish they could roll back.
Lucky you got that that masterpiece, the patron of user rights, the last fortification of privacy in your hands.
Yep feeling pretty good about leaving Windows behind a few years ago.😂😂😂
In retrospective the blue screen part at the start is now sooo much funnier
I remember their quote saying windows 10 would be the last windows version. Won’t update to that windows 11 mess!
Microsoft ain’t playing games no more
I've never had Windows crash. Maybe it's because I use Pro and Enterprise. Or maybe it's because I disable the tracking and access via the host.
Awesome video, Sam! And so true.
This was more informative than one would expect.
Too many good puns that can actually happen in real life. Take my like good sir.
Windows recall, a spyware that perceives itself as an operating system...
Every time people say "this is the last straw, I'll move to Linux" and they never do. (Also most people don't even know about Linux)
One of your finest..... Your a damn comedy genius, & we love you. ❤ (Say HI to the cat for me)
This one was genius 👌Keep up the great work Sam!
