    If anyone was wondering: chain an odd number at the beginning. That way you won’t have to skip two stitches at the end of the first row of the mesh stitch😊

    I am truly a beginner as in I just learned how to loop, and stitch yesterday. I just wanted to say that as a true beginner that doesn't have anyone that knows how to crotchet to help me this tutorial made me feel like I can take on my first project. I just wanted to say thank you as I know this took quite some time to film and edit but you did it anyway and it will impact many as it has for me. Its very much appreciated. I just subscribed. Thank you !!

    Love this tutorial but for some reason my work looks like it’s increasing kind of into a round half circle shape. I am using a bit thicker acrylic yarn from Walmart with the same hook as you. Can you please help me out maybe some idea as to why it’s doing this?

    • @anna-greene
      @anna-greene  Рік тому +4

      hi!! i’ve seen someone else have this issue and I think the best way to fix it is to make sure that your beginning chain row/single crochet row are LOOSE! the mesh stitch really stretches out and gets wider so if you don’t make your initial non-mesh stitch rows loose enough then they’ll be too tight in comparison with the mesh stitch rows that come after. however, even once you make those rows nice and loose I still notice a little bit of a curve and that’s okay because I find that it straightens itself out as you continue. but if it’s too much and becoming a semicircle like you’re describing, I think your best bet is to make sure that the initial rows are looser! lmk if you have any other questions :)

    Could you do this with a weight 3 yarn? I’m guessing it might be a little less “meshy” see-through but it’s all I have and might be close enough? lol if so, should I also bump up my hook to a 5?

    • @anna-greene
      @anna-greene  Рік тому +1

      yes you could try that! and yep, you’d probably also want to increase hook size. you might have to play around with it though and see what works best

    Thank you for this tutorial! But there’s something I don’t understand: why did you do 40% of the bust measurements for the front panel? And after, you do the same thing for the back so it equals 80% and not 100%… the top must be too tight no?

    • @anna-greene
      @anna-greene  Рік тому +1

      because it stretches out a lot as you do the mesh stitch! the only part that doesn’t have stretch is the chain which sits at the waist which is usually smaller than the bust

    hiii, help!. I keep repeating the front panel because as I keep doing it I think it is small and wouldn't fit. What is the way to know if it would fit or not to my body. I did the thing you said about measuring the chest but I'm not sure it will fit so I stop doing it so I don't waist yarn.

    Hey there! i'm very interested in making your top but i have some questions! Would using a #3 yarn be possible to do this (only one i have rn)? if so what hook would you recommend me using like a 3 - 3.5mm hook? also would the end result be different like bigger holes or smaller holes? sorry for asking i'm super beginner trying to make this my first project hehehe

    • @alessandraleon1597
      @alessandraleon1597 Рік тому

      I’ve learned that as long as you use the recommended hook size on the yarn, the project should come out the way you want it to. I believe the yarn she’s using is a #2 . I’m sure if you used the #3 yarn with the recommended size on ur yarn then it should be ok. I hope this is helpful

    • @alessandraleon1597
      @alessandraleon1597 Рік тому

      I’ve noticed that I can waver 0.5 mm hook when it comes to the recommended hook size. For instance my #4 yarn requires a 5mm hook but I’m currently making a loose mesh pool cover up so I ended up using 5.5mm to make it a little looser.

    Okay just to double check, when we start a new row after we chain three are we suppose to slip stitch into the first loop or the second? I’m trying to figure out if I’m increasing on accident by ending my row with a slip stitch and chaining three and then going into the first loop. As an individual I’m confused as to chain three go into first loop or second ?

  • @eleonore8769

    • @anna-greene
      @anna-greene  Рік тому +1

      nope, you always go into the very first and very last loop! so you’ll go into that first one right after making it on the last row

    • @anna-greene
      @anna-greene  Рік тому

      @@anna-greene after time it’s getting more narrow

    • @anna-greene

      then that means you’re skipping stitches somewhere. it’s probably more likely that you’re skipping either the very first or very last stitch but make sure to go into every single opening each row

    As an actual beginner this is such a poorly made video, the work is way too far away from the camera, making it almost impossible to see anything. Don't get me wrong, for people that are more advanced and have done these types of stitches multiple times it is probably easier for them. But for me, with this video I never know where to put my stitch because I can't see how you do yours, and wasting time on redoing stitches
